History

Established in 1995.

Good sized Mom & Pop shop which was built when «pop» became tired of working outside in the cold. The pizza oven was the first piece of equipment installed during the construction phase, and the pizza recipe was a result of the expert opinions of the many construction workers involved in the building process.

Oak Barrel is still a pretty good store. It used to be great, though. The new owners raised prices, once to the point of gouging. They were selling a somewhat hard to find beverage for $ 4more than Hollywood Market, which is less than a mile north.
On the good side, the young people behind the counters they have retained from the old régime are still good.

Good liquor options if you know exactly what you want. It’s a surprisingly good place to buy high-​end liquor but that is about the only thing in the store that’s priced right. Everything else is far over-​priced. Haven’t eaten here but the kitchen smells good.

Most unique and flavorful pizza around. Crispy crust. Get there early in the morning for their breakfast pizza.
Grab a bag and load it with the sausages by the pizza. They’re delicious.
Owners Linda and Deuce are always pleasant, no matter the time or day.
Beer and liquor can be a tad pricey but everything else is great. The craft beer selection is great.

I have A LOT of favorites on the menu: pizza (by the slice or a whole pie), breadsticks, mac n cheese, chicken noodle soup, Greek salad, BREAKFAST BURRITO (better than the ones I had in Austin!), Reuben Cuban… Seriously, you can’t go wrong. Great liquor selection too (although a little pricier). And they’re great for miscellaneous items in a pinch — Mike sold me his sandwich sliced cheese by the pound when I was having a bbq and didn’t want to go all the way to the grocery store. So happy to have Oak Barrel just minutes away!

A very well equipped party store. You want beer, wine, munchies, this is the place. Great owners that are locally grown and love this area. Beer and wine selection is like reading a good book, relaxing and interesting and informative. Pizza is thick and delicious and made anyway you like. Other home cooked specials daily. The staff is young but helpful. And don’t forget your kegs. A great store. Also they have booze, even moonshine.

Oak Barrel is a great place to grab a nice breakfast or lunch. Their home made food really hits the spot. They also have a great selection of micro beers and wines from around Michigan. You can’t find nicer people than Duece and Linda to do business with.

My favorite pizza on earth, nice and thick and an almost burned, skinny crust! Two pieces will leave you full for a week. They also have other fresh food choices for a quick meal to include sandwiches, salads and pastys (I have yet to sample!). Lots of liquor. Rows upon rows of it.
