Clayton is the owner of Van Kleeck’s Tire. He started at the shop, then belonging to his dad, when he was 3 months old. He returned to the business in a leadership role in 1991.

What a refreshing experience! I went in to have a tire repaired and expected them to at least try to sell me a new tire like all of the other tire places in the area. Not only did they not do that, but they also did an inspection without even suggesting any other equipment or services. Someone first recommended Van Kleeck years ago but I didn’t go because the tires were about $ 10 or $ 20 more than the other places. SO WORTH the ten bucks, especially after having such bad experiences at Mavis, Sears, Sam’s. They are all so friendly I wanted to work there, and the coffee really is good.

I had an unfixable front flat replaced at Van Kleeck today. They didn’t have the exact tire in stock, so they swapped the new tire that I bought with the older one (less than 2,500 miles) that was on the back, so the tires on my front wheel drive car were a perfect match. Friendly, careful staff, reasonably priced tire, and a pleasant, clean, light waiting room with recent magazines and excellent popcorn.

Van Kleeck’s did not properly seat the tire on my car and it almost fell off when I was driving! This was the 3^rd time I had a problem with them not putting a tire on correctly or tightening all the lugs.
They also sold me 60K tires that only lasted 20K miles and refused to give me new tires. I have been doing business with them for many years, but it is time for a change.
If you value your life or you money, you’ll shop elsewhere.

We got a flat tire on our way to cape cod today and needed a new tire ASAP. I googled nearby tire places and called VanKleeck. They took us in right away, and the tire was replaced within 20 minutes. Excellent job, excellent price, excellent services. They gave us fresh apples at the desk before we left. I DEFINITELY recommend this place!

Horrible. I went to them for an oil change and I told them i would be driving to FL and to please check out the car. Two days later there was oil leaking all over my mom’s driveway in Queens. Had to take it to a place in Queens where they said Van Kleeck’s had neglected to put a gasket around the oil plug. The manager, Mark, took no responsibility. Will never go back there and you shouldn’t either.

My experiences with Van Kleecks Tire Center have always been positive. From my first tire-change in 2005 till my most recent tire change, they always go above and beyond what most companies would offer. Not only do you get treated like you were a proud user of their facility to knowing of what other issues the car has that they can get to see fairly quickly, I love this place.
In 2005, I bought 4 brand new tires from them. With this, they told me of their services they offer include free tire rotations and free tire patching. And although one tire had a problem in 2008, they were able to replace the tire. When I went in a few years later, I decided to change the 4 together. Their policies on rotations and patching still stand today.
On todays’ visit, when I went in for a simple oil change, they recognized that something else in the system was desperately wrong that could give a major problem later (they noticed that I needed a new valve cover gasket). Even though I had the work done at a nearby dealer, the dealer wasn’t thrilled that it wasn’t done right, when I showed them their recommendation. Thanks VanKleeck for exceeding expectations. You’re a life-saver. I will continue to purchase tires from you, no matter what car I ever own will be. (I wish the Unilocal review system could give 6+ stars, because that’s how many you’ve earned from this visit from me alone).

There is a reason the line forms at the door up to an hour before they open… they are that great. What these guys miss at first meeting in being warm and fuzzy they make up for in cool and professional efficiency and very reasonable pricing. I’m really satisfied with my experience at Van Kleecks. My husband and I had a rare day off, so we went together to get new tires put on my car. The man at the counter (whose name I can’t recall, bummer!) asked what size my tires were, to which my husband said «duh, I should’ve checked,» and headed for the door. The man was already outside heading to my car! He came back, recommended a tire after asking a couple questions about how we drive, and told us it would be an hour and a half because they were really busy that morning. We said we would wait, he pointed us towards the free coffee, and wait we did. Almost to the minute, an hour and a half later, our car was done.
I loved the customer service: everyone was really friendly, and every question I asked was answered with «absolutely» and «certainly.» The bathroom was spacious, clean (considering) and had a baby changing station. And what my husband loved most– they cleaned my wheels. Really nice touch.
You get what you pay for. May be a little pricier than other chain tire/car repair places that shall remain nameless (ahem, three men on the logo– I’m lookin at you), but I’d go here over there any day.

This is the only place that I would send my Wife & Adult children for tires and inspection.
They are straight shooters that will let you know if another dealer or repair shop is quoting your a far price.

I used to rent Hertz cars here (when driving for work) but they closed that part.
This is a nice local business and they are not out to rip you off, like so many auto garages.
They can be difficult to get in and out of quickly, because they are so busy (everyone else must realize how valuable it is to have a tire store you can trust).
They are a little more expensive than the cheapest tire sources in the area (which I think would be Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart). but if you can afford it, I would strongly recommend Van Kleek’s.

They don’t carry Michelins. Other than that they are great. Fast service, honest dealing. I’ve always walked in and gotten the tires I needed, mounted and on my way that day.
