Smith Haven Mall

This mall is good for all the middle class type stores they have in comparison to other malls I’ve been in.
The food court has a typical selection of food along with a few restaurants like P.F. Chang and California pizza kitchen.
The only things is the amount of kids running around is absolutely out of control. I am docking the whole two stars on that alone. The security guards frankly don’t give a shit and don’t do their job. 14 year old kids just should not be allowed to literally run around the mall and get in everyone’s way! It’s extremely annoying!

A nice big mall with a large swath of stores (such as spencers, gamestop, and Victorias secret). There is also a nice food court with samples every day. A great place to hang with friends

Decent mall for those living in the Stony Brook area, but it certainly cannot compare to Roosevelt Field Mall. Though it is admittedly less crowded than Roosevelt, the individual stores are often poorly stocked and carry less options than almost any mall I’ve visited. Most of the time, I rarely find anything interesting because stores quickly sell out of their more popular items. This was rarely a problem when I lived in other states or traveled to Roosevelt Field Mall in Nassau County. Though it is not necessarily the mall’s fault, this does not add well onto my «buying» experience if nothing is available to be bought.

Dara the assistant manager was so much help! She went above and beyond to make us happy and make sure she did everything she could do. I highly recommend her!!! Best Brookstone experience ever!

Nice mall not high-​end stores but not low-​end either. Always a good crowd never empty or too crowded. Kids here well behaved … Decent food court … clean
Wish it was a little bit bigger but other than that a good standby mall

This review is really for the Barnes & Noble Bookstore, where we went on a muggy summer day. Air conditioning, two levels of books and gift items, journals that look like they came from Hogwarts, a café on the first floor, an elevator so I can haul books up and down without putting my life in peril on the escalator… what more could you ask for?
The rest of that little outdoor section of Smithhaven is much more pleasant than the indoor part, possibly because it’s newer, but also because it is reminscent of Roosevelt Field’s heyday — that great, outdoor mall which was designed by noted architect I. M. Pei.
This neighborhood of Smithhaven also has some kiosks selling sunglasses and jewelry, a really splendid Sur La Table that offers cooking classes as well as every kitchen gadget you could possibly want, a Chico’s, a Cheesecake Factory, plus a few other stores that will no doubt come and go. But for me, the main event is that bookstore!

The mall is small, it can use a second level.

The Smith Haven Mall is a great place to talk around and shop. I found it very clean and easy to navigate. It’s pretty hard to get lost when the entire mall is shaped like a plus sign — go to one end, come back to the middle, and pick another end to walk down. They have a pretty decent sized food court which is nice if you just want to grab something quick. Or if that’s not your cup of tea, they have plenty of sit down restaurants adjacent to the mall as well such as TGI Firdays, PF Changs, The Cheesecake Factory, and many more. And with all the stores they have, it makes it an ideal place to drop off my wife and kids for hours at a time!

They have a pet store that still sells live more than likely puppy mill puppies which totally turned me off from this place. Other than the fact that it was dark, dank, and didn’t have any appeal.

Fun place to work, tons of wackos to help entertain you and make the day go by faster!

Grew up on LI for over 30 years and I’ve seen this place transition from a hang out for kids in the 80 – 90’s to this over priced retail trap. Went in dozens of stores only to walk out because of ridiculously over priced items from clothes to toys. The only purchases I made were from gift cards. The last store I went in to did a classic bait and switch with pants that my daughter liked. The only reason I was going to buy them was because they were on a sale rack… the whole rack was the same pants probably from last year and they were marked 50% off. She tried them on and went to buy only to be told they were full price… they must have been put on the wrong rack. No thanks… never again. AVOID THE WENDYS IN THE FOOD COURT their food was disgusting. 2 stars because its still a nice place to walk around.

Not all malls are created equally…
With that said, Smith Haven is a good shopping center if you’re located in the Lake Grove/​Center Reach/​Stony Brook area.
There’s plenty of parking and the majority of stores are there like Macy’s, H&M, Starbucks, Apple Store, AT&T store, and the list goes on and on. In the food court area you have a decent selection of vendors along with a TGI Friday’s that is located within the mall.
No complaints here!

While I didn’t see the entire mall, I saw enough of it to know that it’s a pretty cool mall. I definitely liked the size of the Macy’s, much bigger and better and loaded with merchandise that I will NEVER know the likes of in California (where I live). I also liked some of the satellite shops that we don’t have either (such as Call It Spring, Violets Blue, Dynamite, and Cotton: On, to name a few). It was at this mall in the Starbucks that I actually found a berry hibiscus tea that I never knew existed. There’s a nice grouping of restaurants, some unique to this region, like Bobby’s Burger, which I tried on another visit.
I know there’s a movement of people that think all malls are the same, but I don’t take that view, especially with malls like this one.

Standard mall. Plenty of parking, and a lot of big stores. Not super high end though, if that’s your cup of tea. Recently a lot of stores have been redone, so that’s nice. Overall, a fine local shopping spot.

I think, a nice mall with enough stores for me at least. i think the uniqlo was a nice addition. good food court with plenty of free teriyaki chicken samples. an apple store is appreciated. i’m not a mall snob but this is a place i’d go to shop if i had a free weekend day

It’s definitely not the biggest mall I’ve been to but it’s decent enough. Unfortunately it doesn’t have many of the stores I regularly shop at so I probably would not come back. There are also several stores which needs to be accessed from the outside so this can require a bunch of walking or moving your car if you are visiting a store on one side and your next stop is on the other side.
For example I didn’t see an entrance for Barnes & Noble connecting it to the rest of the mall. Parking was easy enough but in general this mall is a bit out of the way for me so I don’t plan to return.

Great mall back when we were college students. Now, it’s just full of teens and crazy parents. Maybe we shouldn’t have some during a holiday weekend. .. LOL, still a nice mall!

Probably the best mall in Suffolk County, — Great shopping, restaurants (I come here for Bobby’s Burgers) and it has all your major mall stores.
What sucks is the parking lot — Confusing much??? Not to mention if you come on a weekend — Remember where you parked!!!
My main issue with this mall is the fact that they allow a known puppy-​mill breeder to occupy a store inside the mall — American Dog Club! Walk past this place and you will NOT see happy puppies, but rather very sickly looking ones! 30 seconds into the place I left in tears!
Smith Haven mall… you are doing NO ONE any favors by allowing this kind of business inside your mall! Shut the place down already!

This is the mall I grew up in, its where I came on teenage dates, Christmas shopping, Saturday night before going out I’d run to Macy’s for a new shirt, I always came with my kids to take pictures with Santa. It’s my mall!

–I love the outdoor mall side!
–Starbucks/​Teavana, I love walking around with a drink and window shop
–Tillys/​Zumiezs/​Vans, Love that skater look to this day
–Still love shopping at Macy’s/Sears
–Apple Store, Keep on keepin’ on
–There is a device that turns those old cell phones into cash on the spot. I walked away with $ 120 bucks?!
–Bobbys Burger!
Lets talk about the bad side of the mall, I want to shame Simon it into making it a 21 century mall.
–The doors going into Macy’s (pick a side) are so old and cheap ass. I’m afraid I’ll need a tetanus shot when I open these rusty doors. spend some money ya frigs and get new doors!
–No Bloomies or Nordstroms? How about Burberry Brit? Comverse? You need to kick it up a notch with more high end stores
–There is no grand entrance anymore. When I was a kid, there was a sculpture of strings with oil coming down and fountains! If I enter in the front, I walk into the food court side where the bathroom hallway is located, yuckk.
Stores that are no longer:
Movie theater, A&S, the stupid Bonsai tree store, Merry Go Round, Beefsteak Charles, Lucky Jeans
It might not be much but its been my Mall for 30+ years
