Terry Moving and Storage

I’ve used Terry Moving and Storage for multiple moves and other projects as well. They have moved my family to the Pacific Northwest and then back. I couldn’t be happier. These guys do a great great job. I have also used them for smaller, local moves as well. Why do I keep going back (and refer them to friends, family and business associates)? Because they do a great job, at a fair price… its that simple. Although I have not used their storage services, I have had the opportunity to tour their facilities. Very, very impressive. If I have a storage need, I know who I will be calling. If you are looking for moving or storage services, I wouldn’t recommend anybody else!

Made a move from OC to Scottsdale this month and was my first time ever using a moving company. After receiving a handful of confusing weight and cubic storage quotes from other moving companies, Mark Terry came to the rescue same day with a quote that would not change. Sal and team came early morning on moving day with smiles on their faces. They took extra care wrapping and handling all of my furniture and belongings. Within a few hours they were complete and off to Scottsdale. The next morning unload was just as seamless as the load the day before with all of my furniture and belongings in tact. I will be using Terry Moving & Storage for my future moving needs and I highly recommend them for yours!

Great movers! Nick, Clyde, and Sal moved us out of our old home and into our new home with ease and comfort. Even with the heavy lifting, they kept a smile on the entire time. I thought I would be absolutely exhausted after the move, but I was not tired at all (my neighbor across and my friend have also used them and have been very happy). Very reasonable fees too.

We had to move from Southern to Northern California with just 3 weeks notice. Thanks to Terry Moving, hiring movers was the least stressful part! Mike Terry came to our apartment to give us an in person estimate, with a ‘not to exceed’ cost, so we knew we wouldn’t get hit with extra payments later. Even though we didn’t have an exact address to move to until about a week and a half before our move date, Terry Moving was able to accommodate us. Our movers, Salvador and Greg, packed up our 1 bedroom apartment in less than 2 hours. It was raining the morning of our move, and they made sure our furniture was protected with plastic and moving blankets before taking it outside. They moved us in the next day, again in less than 2 hours. Salvador and Greg were great, very professional and friendly. All our furniture and boxes were in good condition, nothing broken. I liked that we had a truck to ourselves. Some long distance moving companies put your stuff on a truck with other people’s stuff, so it might take longer to get to you and has more chance of getting lost, but not Terry Moving. Our stuff stayed in one truck from our old place to our new place, no chance of getting lost. I would gladly use Terry Moving again.

This company is fantastic. They were very patient with me, and came to my rescue a few times. I am very grateful for this company and all of the people who posted the positive reviews.

I just used Terry Moving for a local move. Mark came out to do the estimate and was professional and friendly. He gave me a reasonable quote and let me know that if the guys use less time then I could pay less. He also gave me some pointers and had one told me one of his crew would follow up with me. Everything happened as he said. The day of the move Lawrence, Mike, Arturo and Luis were showed up on time with friendly, can-​do attitudes! The guys were quick, attentive and respectful. I had a huge piece of furniture I wanted up in my room at the new place and knew it would be a «bear» to get up… Lawrence said the only way to find out if we can get it up is to try and that’s what they did! They got that piece up a tight staircase, no terse words and no damage. They took care to put things in the right areas and then asked if everything is ok. When I realized I told them the wrong bedrooms they willingly switched the items. Truly these guys made a stressful day so pleasant! Thank you!

My husband and I moved from OC to Mesa, Arizona. We had a short escrow and had tons to do in a short period of time. We got 3 quotes, one of them personally by Mark Terry. His easy going attitude sold me right from the start.
We chose Terry Moving and we were not disappointed!
The price for moving, some packing and boxes was extremely competitive… he and his staff were extremely responsive up until the move date providing boxes and packing material as soon as asked for. Customer service beyond what we were used to.
He worked with us on our delivery date, giving us an exact day and time, not an estimate of 3 to 5 days like the other movers.
Moving day was a breeze. his movers and packers showed up and in 2 hours they were done.
They were efficient, responsive and professional.
Delivery day came early in the morning and our belongings came in perfect shape and were unloaded in less time than it took to move. No problems, no issues, no breakage… seamless.
As far as movers are concerned, Terry Movers are by far the best in their class. They use their own trucks and drivers and don’t contract out like the big guys… great customer service, and a great overall experience. Happy to enthusiastically endorse them!

I am so grateful I found these guys for my move from San Clemente, CA to Austin TX! Josh was professional and efficient with every thing from loading up, to unloading. Mark was available for any questions I had regarding my move, and I felt very comfortable knowing all of my belongings were being taken care of by such an upstanding family owned company. After a bunch of estimates, I called Terry Moving to help us move from Laguna Niguel to Pasadena.
From the start, everyone was professional and responsive, down to a confirmation a few days out.
Lawrence and Mike arrived right on time, and carefully and efficiently moved all our things, even repairing a piece of trim that came off of a cabinet.
Traffic brought us about an hour over estimate, plus a slightly higher fuel charge than initially quoted, but absolutely worth every penny.

After three and a half years of trying the coffee house concept and supporting local musicians with our Open Mic nights, we have decided to change our concept to mediterranean gourmet sandwiches, panini, and pizza. So consequently our piano had to be moved from our store back to our house.
One call to Terry Moving got us the best price and best service in town. A day later Terry’s guys showed up at the store exactly as scheduled, loaded up the piano with great care, and moved it to our house safely.

We recently hired Terry Moving to do our move from Orange County to the Sacramento area. We had contacted 3 different moving companies for bids. The first company was a division of Allied Moving — they couldn’t even give us a $ amount until 3 days later. They also said they would give us like a 5-​day window for the delivery date. (I don’t want a WINDOW… I want my stuff as soon as I have my keys!) I wasn’t too keen on them (Allied) even before seeing the $, but figured that’s why we were getting bids from 3 companies.
The 2^nd company to bid was Terry Moving. The owner, Mark Terry, came to do the estimate. I liked him right away. The whole time he walked the house, he had such a great «can do» attitude and kept telling us things we DIDN’T have to pack or break down to try to keep things as simple as possible for us. Oh-​I should also mention, I had some stuff in a storage unit, and I was stressing out about shuffling that stuff back to my already chaotic house. He told me no worries. He would have a couple guys take a smaller truck to the unit and bring it back to the house to load on the big van. Whew!!! He even told me I didn’t have to break down my metal & wood shelves in the garage & storage units! If they had the space in the van, they would keep them intact. If they had to break them down, they would re-​assemble for us at the destination (which ended up being the case.) Mark took the time while he was at the house to generate his figure and said the amount was firm. (Most moving companies will provide a «not to exceed» amount and may refund you if they over-​guessed the weight.) I was secretly rooting for him even though I still had to meet with a 3^rd company, and still had to wait for my figure from Allied.
The 3^rd company had an appt almost immediately after Mark… except he apparently wrote it down wrong and showed up a half hour late without a phone call (bc he thought he was on time.) Bad start. As we walked the house, Company #3 was telling me all the stuff THEY would NOT do…(I had to make sure to clear drawers, break this and that down, etc.)… then still came out ALMOST DOUBLE Terry Moving’s quote! I was actually kind of happy because it made it a very easy NO.
As much as I wanted to pick up the phone right then & there & just book Terry Moving, my hubby said to wait and see what Allied came in at. Again, I was relieved when Allied came in substantially more bc I wanted to go with Terry Moving anyway.
In the weeks leading up to the move, I contacted Mark Terry a few times about packing concerns and delivery date. (We were moving into a newly built house and the builders were not giving us a «ready-​by» date. We had a firm «move-​out» date for the old house though.) Mark was always calming me & assuring me they could roll with it. They were able to store our load until we were ready for delivery… all included in his original bid! And I LOVED I could actually tell them what day *I* wanted delivery, not be told «it’ll be sometime in a 5-​day window, depending where you are on the route, like Allied.)
Okay, so fast forward to a week before moving day. I knew I needed help packing. I think I called Sunday to request packers for a couple hours & they came Wednesday. They were awesome. They got a head start on some of the stuff they would’ve been wrapping on Moving Day anyway (no charge for that time, since it was saving time from Moving Day) and they just charged us for the time spent on the little stuff I was supposed to pack. Totally worth it. I know it would’ve taken me 5 – 10 x’s longer to pack what they did.
So…Moving Day. The crew was great, but the head guy, Josh, was AMAZING. He was so attentive and polite and took SUCH great care of us. He would check in with us to confirm whether we wanted certain things to go on the van or stay with us for our drive up. He even went way above and beyond and helped us get a few more boxes on the moving van the next day when we realized they were not going to fit in our cars. (We were super lucky he happened to live VERY close to us.). I guarantee you, you would not get this kind of customer service from any of the big guys like Allied, North American, Atlas.
Extra bonus… as much as we loved Josh on Part I of our move (loading in SoCal), we were thrilled that he would be the one driving our stuff up to Northern Cal too. It was great to have him oversee the job from start to finish. Oh– I need to mention… our move-​in date ended up being on Dec 23^rd. It was a nail biter. Builders gave us a rough time with the close date. Anyway, we were so grateful that Josh drove that far right before Christmas Eve, and yet he never rushed us. He patiently walked through the house at the end and asked him to point out anything… ANYTHING…we wanted him to do even if it was just turning a box around or sliding it over an inch. I’d keep going but Unilocal said I’m maxed.
Just hire Terry Moving– *BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! * HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

These guys are worth EVERY Penny!
Lawrence, Luis, and JB were all incredibly helpful to me and my 8-​months-​pregnant wife. They were very considerate of her and made sure we knew they had everything in hand.
And they’re FAST!!! Total move time from our two bedroom condo to the other house… 3 ½ hours!
Estimate was right on the nose.
Pro Tip: there is a minimum drive time of 30 minutes (doubled)… So 60 minutes of drive time factored into our 5 hour estimate. Even then the total time was 4 ½ hours, so they finished ahead of schedule.

Mark Terry definitely knows how to run a business. We are very happy with the communication, the movers, and the job they did! We moved from Laguna Beach to RSM.

Terry Moving did an absolutely fantastic job in moving me from CA to CO. The owner Mark came out on a Sat. to give me an estimate. He was very patient, took the time to listen to my concerns and really put my mind at ease regarding his ability to help me out. He was always in contact with me. His movers showed up on time, were extremely friendly and took great care of my belongings. The moving truck showed up in CO on time, nothing was broken and that crew was just as friendly as the first.
Moving can be very stressful and I read a lot of really bad reviews from other movers. Mark Terry and his crew went above and beyond my expectations and really delivered on their promise. I highly recommend them for your next move.

We sold our old house and then until the new house is finished, we are living in this apartment. So, all of our things had to go in the storage and that included a baby grand piano. It was a wonderful experience. I called Terry’s, I set up the appointment and they came out.
They took a look around and recorded everything. They very quickly came back to me with a quote and then called me a couple of days later to follow up with the quote. And then, they called me ahead of time just to confirm the day before and I have also called them a couple of times before asking questions about how to prepare certain items for them to take and they were very helpful with that through phone calls and emails.
They showed up on time that day and those guys were so polite, respectful, friendly and professional. They did not stop. They just busted their behinds for the entire day and got the work done very carefully without damaging anything. I was extremely impressed with them so much that I called the owner while they were their to tell him. Great value!

Goodness!!! First time I had a lot to move!!! I didn’t know where or how to start. Terry sent Lawrence and Mike to my rescue!!! These guys from the moment they walked through my door were in beast mode. Friendly and gentle beast mode… Of course!
They take pride in their jobs and you can tell!!! These two went above and beyond to be accommodating for my confused ass.

Mike, Lawrence & Chris moved my belongings from 2 storage units, 1 in Laguna Beach and another in Santa Monica, to my home in Laguna beach.
They were hardworking, very professional, friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make the move as painless as possible.
They took extra measures to protect my belongings from damage. They worked so smoothly and efficiently as a team, I was very impressed.

We hired them to move us from a 3BR townhouse apartment and storage unit to our new house. We needed to move on a particular day and wanted to go at a particular time of the day (late morning) and they were able to accommodate us perfectly.
We were given an arrival window of 11 – 2. They didn’t arrive until 1:45 due to their earlier job taking longer, but that worked fine for us. Simon and Chris were quick to get the truck set up and start loading right away. It helped that we had disassembled furniture and packed boxes ahead of time, but they moved quick. Despite the two flights of stairs in the apartment and the odd stairs in our new home, they were always moving quickly and got all of our furniture out and back in to the new house well. They only stopped for a quick break during the load up, and I totally understood. They weren’t wasting our time, but they were also careful. One bookcase got dinged due to a mistake on my part, but everything else survived well.
Both guys were friendly and capable and had more energy than I would have doing multiple jobs a day. Well done, guys! We’ll definitely hire them if we need to move again (which I hope we don’t)!
