R. Tracy Durrett DDS

I’ve known Dr. Durrett for over 20 years and I knew the doctor he worked with before he took over, Dr. Nelson. Dr Durrett is accomplished, considerate, and committed. He isn’t going to try to sell you something you don’t need, and he isn’t going to do something an experienced specialist can do better. His staff never turns over and are also exceptionally considerate and experienced. You will have a hard time finding a better, fairer priced dentist in Lake Forest or even Lake County.

First I want to state that I rarely get sick. I cannot remember the last time I caught a cold/​virus. However, 24 hours after having my teeth cleaned/​check-​up I came down with a cold/​virus. Headache/​sore throat/​congestion etc. I have now had the cold for five days and not happy about it. This is not the first time this has happened, my husband had caught a cold after a visit to Dr. Durrett a while ago. Now he is very careful to only schedule appointments the first hour of the day to minimize contamination. The problem must be that they are not cleaning their instruments enough or the ventilation isn’t good. Not happy to have to go through this cold.

I actually know multiple people from Lake Forest and Lake Bluff that go to Dr. Durrett. He was actually referred to me by my dentist in downtown Chicago because I had no idea where to start when I moved up here.
The office is small and compact but that doesn’t mean you feel like you’re in some old practice. The group has the latest technology — from digital «x-​rays» that instantly pull up to Zoom, the blue-​lighting teeth whitening process.
His technicians are down to earth, chatty (in a good way) and work quickly. I have had the teeth whitening process and was pleased with the outcome. I’ve never had a cavity (it’s true) so I can’t speak to his oral surgeon skills.
The office managers will work with your insurance company rather than making you submit the paperwork, which saves me from the hassle! He’s an easy recommendation if you’re looking for a dentist.
