Mobile Mechanics

Earlier today, between 1:00 — 2:00, I had an encounter with a man driving a white Mobile Mechanics van. It said «25 years in business» (or something along those lines) on the back. He was an older man, probably in his late 50s-​early 60s, seemingly overweight with what looked like gray/​white hair. (There was also a women or girl in the car. I didn’t see her very well. Just her hair; it was brown.
He was making a right onto Laguna Hills Drive from Indian Hill Lane. I was going up Laguna Hills Drive coming from Moulton, so we were both headed toward Paseo de Valencia. I ended up behind him when he made his right onto Laguna Hills Drive. He was moving a bit slow but I stayed behind him anyway. I didn’t really care at the time.
We had both turned right onto Paseo de Valencia and started to make our way to the light at Alicia Parkway. This is where the b.s. started… the man started to brake just before getting to the light eventhough the light was green. He braked long enough that the light turned yellow, then red. I thought maybe he wasn’t sure where he was going. (He was trying to make me miss the light.) At this point, I didn’t want to be behind him anymore and there were no cars in the far left turn lane so I attempted to get in that lane, while he was still in the second left turn lane. The man then switch lanes to get into the far left lane, which caused me to switch back to the second left turn lane. At the time, I thought maybe he needed to make a last minute u-​turn, so eventhough he was acting weird, I figured it was just a one-​off situation and that he didn’t mean to be driving like a dick. So then the light turns green, we both turn left onto Alicia. I drove a bit faster than him, but he caught up. That’s when I started thinking maybe he’s being a douchebag. I braked a little so I wasn’t next to him. As we both approach the second light from the freeways on Alicia, he AGAIN quickly switches into the lane I was in, and as I attempt to switch lanes so I’m not behind him, he switched lanes BACK to the lane he was in (the lane I was switching to), then I switched back to the lane I was originally in and he didn’t try to get back over again because we would have collided. Now I know he’s being an asshole. I threw my hand up as if to say «What are you doing?!». I look in his driver side mirror and see him laughing and pointing. I then gave him a sarcastic thumbs up.
So we’re both at the light just before you’re able to get on the freeways, and the light turns green. I’m going onto 5 North, he’s going 5 South. Just before he gets on the 5 South, he THREW SOMETHING AT MY CAR. It sounded like a coin, something little and hard. Seriously? What the hell is wrong with this guy? I did NOTHING for this weirdo to act this way toward me on the road to begin with and he decides it’s okay to chuck something at my car? Unbelievable. Maybe he has something against younger women. Maybe I looked like a young, bitchy brat and he thinks all younger women are the same. I have no idea. (I’m 29 and I drive a navy Toyota Yaris, by the way.) At NO point was I ever tailing him. He was completely unprovoked.
If this guy is the type of person Mobile Mechanics is okay with hiring then I would NEVER want to give them my business. It’s like the guy was drunk or on drugs or just hates life and wanted to screw with someone for no damn reason.

I called them to get a quote for adding a brake controller and light adapter to haul a trailer. Steve quoted me a price that was $ 75 less than the local dealer and RV shops. They showed up late, but I understood as you can never tell how long a job is going to take. They got to work right away, and were finished in under an hour. Since I was borrowing the trailer from a friend, I didn’t have it there to test, but they took the time to explain how the controller worked so that I was comfortable.
When I got the trailer hooked up, I noticed my truck was almost dragging on the ground. I new I needed new shocks, so I called Steve and got another quote. He was less than 2 other shops so I had him come out again. He ended up creating a custom air-​shock installation for me, so that I could control how high I wanted the truck, thereby making sure it would always ride level.
After I got the trailer home, I was testing different things, and found I couldn’t get the generator to start. Since Steve had told me to call him with any questions, I did and he suggested a fix which worked. I hadn’t called him back to tell him that it was working, so on his way home, he stopped by to check on me! How impressive is that!!! He even took me for a drive in my truck with the trailer attached to make sure the brake controller was dialed in.
I may not always be able to use Steve’s services for my 4 cars, but I will always call him first to see. His prices are fair, his work is great, and I don’t have to drop my cars off anywhere.

So I had a mobile mechanic come out to me and replace my catalytic converter and it’s costs me $ 678 so i gave him $ 680 cash and he just kept that cause he didnt have change but whatever… so about a month later my check engine light comes on, well several trips and shops later come to find out that the welds he welded for my new CC were leaking causing my exhaust to leak causing the check engine light to be on, ok sooo… I finally get it to a exhaust shop to repair the mobile mechanics poor welds, but what REALLY sucks is that I asked how much it would’ve been to install a new catalytic converter at this muffler shop in anaheim with them and the guy says $ 280!!! I mean damn thats a big difference from $ 678!!!
Ok ok… Now I understand you got to come out to me so it should cost more money BUT then the work was done poorly and now I have to pay to get it re welded again and now it’s costing me even more money and more time, And why don’t I call them back and have them fix their mistake you ask? Well because when I originally called to install the aftermarket catalytic converter I waited over 5 hours for this guy to show up, I called him back over 4 times wondering when he was going to finally show up to do the work, so today I don’t have all day to wait around, well the morale of the story is i finally got ripped off by a mechanic, oh well it happens to many people but has never happened to me before but he got me for $ 400 dollars extra to drive to my house to do the work which I then had to have redone a month later, thanks a lot mobile mechanics for taking advantage of me and making me feel like I really really got ripped off, I mean if your gonna over charge me I would expect the work to be professionally done and last for many years but instead it lasted about a Month before I had to have it repaired again

I love this company! Great customer service. Called them and they came out right away to fix my shred truck. Not only are they affordable but they know what they’re doing. My truck was back in operation that day! I will definitely be calling them again if I need any more help.
