We really enjoyed our quick service lunch at La Cantina while spending a day at Epcot. I ordered the empanadas and my husband ordered the barbacoa tacos. Everything tasted great. We also got the churritos and caramel sauce for desert, which were also tasty. We enjoyed sitting under their covered outdoor seating area with a view of World Showcase lagoon. This is a great option for quick service lunch to give you some variety over standard«theme park food».

The food here used to be very good… Now… it’s terrible… It’s very bland… What happened to the flavor? They should have never changed the menu… The saying if it ain’t broke don’t fix it comes to mind… Well apparently Disney had other things in mind… The food is at Disney pricing standards – high…That would be okay if the food still tasted good… Finding somewhere to sit and eat is a pain in the rear… Although, your money would be better spent elsewhere.

This is a great option if you are looking for a quick-service meal for the dining plan. It is outdoor seating right outside of the Mexico area of the World Showcase at EPCOT. Portion size for the taco meal is on point and the flavors are okay. I typically like coming here because their dessert is a refreshing popsicle that keeps me going on the really hot days. And a big bonus for their outdoor seating area being right next to the water so the view is spectacular. If it is too hot of a day for you there is plenty of indoor seating as well. TACO, TACO, TACO!!!

This restaurant is pretty good. The ambience is excellent, the servers are very friendly and efficient and fast. The food is average at best but overall experience is good. Five out of the six main lunch dishes were gluten-free, which is a very good selection for any gluten-free patron. My wife had the red snapper which was good and I had a chicken entrée which was also average to good(somewhat bland and unexciting). The food overall is average, but the overall experience better due to the service and atmosphere.

Their food is not the best but they are one of the cheapest options at Epcot and the serving size is decent. They are usually quick. Moreover, their seating area has a nice view of the lake. I like their loaded nachos and the frozen margarita. Not a bad way to start the tour around the world showcase.

Had to write a review once I saw so many negative comments. This is definitely one of our favorite quick service spots at Epcot. We love Mexican food and get a pretty good share of it living in Southern California. We think this little stand holds up pretty well — great tacos and the churros with dulce de leche are amazing.

I feel like generally the quick service food at Disney has gone downhill slowly but surely, ever more with each passing year… and this restaurant is no exception. I used to love to eat here to start out my trips around the World Showcase, but it’s been less impressive recently and after this last attempt I think I’ll forego it in the future. The place was pretty busy and we waited a long time for our food — like close to fifteen minutes, *after* we ordered — and then when we got it none of it was even hot/fresh. The empanadas could have been decent had they been, but instead the cheese inside them was lukewarm and chewy. The nachos were half soggy and the cheese on them is the same crappy nacho cheese you can get elsewhere in Disney. I mean, if I wanted crappy nachos I could go to any random bar that serves them and probably pay less than what they cost at this place. But hey, at least the margaritas are still good, right?

This is the best place to watch the Illuminations Show and I snagged the very best table right by the water. I mean, I never knew I could sprint that fast! Two of us shared an order of nachos with guacamole and I had a frozen lime margarita… and we nursed those babies for over an hour and a half while we waited for the show to begin(with none of the staff ever batting an eye). The chips were fresh(from the bag) and the guacamole was a bit on the bland side. The margarita was right out of one of those dispensers that they have in all the touristy bars in Cancun. I don’t know how much alcohol it contained… but it was cold, tart, and refreshing.

This was a great quick service option in Epcot. No lines to order and lots of options. The chicken bowl with corn and rice was delicious. Huge portion and very flavorful. The empanadas were delicious. We got the kids portion with 2 and some chips to share. The nachos are a huge portion. The chips are kind of funky but still good. The tacos were also very good. Nice outdoor seating and the atmosphere is great. We enjoyed our lunch at the start of the countries in Epcot!

We Love the nachos here! One of Epcot’s best values. Order your food and alcoholic drinks seperately though, that’s my tip. We’ve had repeated problems with our food order getting lost when we ordered drinks and nachos but we fixed it by simply ordering them seperately. If you don’t, you’ll get your drinks straight away; they’ll mark your ticket, and then sometimes lose your order. Happened often enough to be a problem. From our last visit, looks like they seem to be corralling patrons in the space and not allowing you to leave with your food to enjoy on say, the Mexican pavillion’s upper terrace across the way. Bleh.

This is surprisingly good quick-service Mexican food. Soft tacos with shredded pork were delicious and the beans were excellent. Nachos were tasty. Churros were good but a bit tough although the caramel dipping sauce was outstanding and did not go to waste(but to waist). No air conditioned seating available but seats with lake views are under cover.

Little to no wait to order. Food was ready quickly. Portion sizes were as expected or larger especially the Nachos. Those with less than hearty appetites could easily share. Corn tortillas for the Fish Tacos were freshly prepared. Would have liked more options for salsa(Verde and Hot). Seating is vastly improved since remodel. Still can be somewhat limited especially for parties of more than 4.

Easily the most memorable lunch during our Disney vacation. We got a little bit of everything for our party of 12: barbocoa beef tacos, multiple salads with chicken, chips and guacamole and nachos. My favorite? The indulgence of the nachos – super yummy and messy, but so worth it. Throw in a frozen margarita and a modelo and we were happy campers!!! Arriba!!!

La Cantina de San Angel in the Mexico Pavilion is one of my favorite places to eat in EPCOT(and probably all of Walt Disney World). There were honestly times that my husband and I would spend our entire day in a different park and then make our way over to EPCOT just to have nachos here for dinner. That being said, the nachos are insanely good and I really don’t think I’ve had better nachos anywhere else. They’re messy but they’re beyond fantastic. I love hanging out in the outdoor seating area and watching the birds and squirrels. The animals are very brave though and there’s a very good chance that they’ll attempt to go after your food. There was one day that my husband got up to go get napkins and a bird came swooping in and stole some of his nachos. I found it fairly entertaining, but then again, I wasn’t the one with missing nachos(until my husband stole some of mine because I didn’t defend his food from the swooping seagull). Definitely stop by La Cantina de San Angel if you’re looking for an insanely awesome nacho experience. Just make sure you’re prepared to use your body as a shield to protect your food from the swooping and climbing animals. After all, they’re fans of insanely awesome nacho experiences too.

Atmosphere: pretty place both inside and out. Nice water side seating. Beautiful Mexican artifacts and décor inside. Food: I went for lunch and had the chicken dish. Basic chicken with rice, beans, corn, and all that other Mexican stuff. It was okay at best. The chicken was seasoned well but the overall meal tasted somewhat like a lean cuisine frozen item you can pick up at a grocery store. My mom had the nachos and they looked basic, but good. Overall: Ok place, only reason why I am giving this a 4 star and not a 3 is because the indoor seating is beautiful and perfect on a hot day, and I had a Dos Equis draft that kept me content :)

I don’t know why there are such negative reviews for this place. At Epcot it seems to be the«best» spot for food b/c of the great views and it’s one of the first countries to visit along the circle unless you begin from the other side which is Canada. My friends and I got the Disney dining plan so this place counted as a quick service. Maybe if I paid retail I would think it wasn’t worth it… but as a quick service meal I enjoyed it. I do want to start off by saying we were starving so maybe that effected my opinion of the food. I ordered a cheese empanada and it was what I expected. I love cheese and it was cheesy along with some sauce on top and extra cheese. The cole slaw was a nice touch… and on the condiments bar they had different sauces and the green sauce was delicious. I also had the churros. I forgot what type of sweet sauce it was but it was satisfying. I almost enjoy the smaller churros better. Our quick service meal also came with a free drink and the Mexican soda was a great idea. It was so delicious and had real sugar!

Authentic Mexican food with normal Disney markup. Inside seating was plentiful on New Years when I went for lunch. Tacos Barbacoa are tasty and served with rice and beans. Nachos look nice too as does guacamole with chips.

You can find the standard Mexican fare at this restaurant located adjacent to the lake at the Mexican Pavilion. As with many of Disney’s eateries, it’s pricey. The food is good, however, unless you’re able to score a table by the lake I would skip and eat at the restaurant located inside the Mexican Pavilion. The prices are fairly comparable, and you’ll have a meal experience. Like all the other countries in the World Showcase, La Cantina dell San Angel, is the QSR to their main restaurant. These country inspired QSRs cater to folks that don’t want to make reservations at their restaurants, want to grab a quick bite, or simply want to get a small taste of the country they’re visiting. In conclusion, if you MUST eat in Mexico, don’t want to eat in their main restaurant, then go ahead a get a fix at this location.

Not sure why Unilocal marked the other listing as «moved,» but ok, I’ll review it again. We use to love this place before they revamped it and changed the menu. Bad Disney… very, very bad! Want a quick review from me? Here ya go: Do not eat here. Do not waste your money. We’ve had the cheese empanadas, the nachos, and both the beef and chicken tacos. Everything tastes like cardboard. According to my husband, cardboard tastes better. The only thing that has flavour is the salsa and it tastes like ketchup. So, if you want to spend a fortune and eat ketchup flavoured cardboard, then stop here for a meal. My advice? Move along because EVERYTHING else at Epcot is better!
