History

Established in 2012.

Although Sleeping Bear Resort has a long history, we purchased the resort in December 2012 and are performing major renovations. Having vacationed in Northwest Michigan for many years, we enjoy being a host to our guests and an ambassador for Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes and the Leelanau Peninsula.

Meet the Business Owner

Randy F.

Business Owner

In May of 2012, we sold our home of 14 years in Southeast Michigan where we raised our two children. We decided it was time to pursue a dream. We had been vacationing in the Lake Ann and Traverse City area for more than 25 years so when the opportunity came about to purchase Sleeping Bear Resort, we couldn’t resist pursuing the opportunity.

We both appreciate the outdoors and everything the Traverse City/Leelanau Peninsula region has to offer. We enjoy hiking the trails and exploring the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. We like cross country skiing and snowmobiling. We often take rides into the Leelanau Peninsula and visit the wineries and the little villages of Empire, Glen Arbor, Lake Leelanau, Leland, Northport and Suttons Bay. The people in Northwest Michigan are friendly and they all seem to have a smile on their face.
