We have stayed at the Sands of Kahana about 12 times over the past 20 years and always attempt to try the restaurant on the property — sometimes with good memories sometimes not so good. Heard there was new management and so have gone down so far twice in our first of two weeks. First time was to kill 45 minutes waiting for our room, the second a light lunch. On our first visit we had the benefit of being happy hour so the beverages and snacks were more reasonable. Found the drinks — Mai Tai and Daiquiri to be very weak on the alcohol and the snacks eatable. The lunch — we had appetizers — calamari and coconut shrimp, while our granddaughter had the turkey burger. Both appetizers had much too much coating, the burger was a bit better but not memorable. The dinner menu is limited, but the view over the pool is a channel on the Pacific between Maui and Molokai(winter time you can watch the whales jump) is spectacular. By the way this week is the NBA playoffs and the bar area is packed(even for the baseball games) with a lively but friendly clientele.

We had a great breakfast and the staff was really nice. Walked across the street from our timeshare. We got there early and it was very clean.

Had breakfast, omelet with vegetables and sausage. Delicious. Beatiful location and excellent service. I will come back.

Worst happy hour drink I’ve ever had. Guys is it so hard to just blend a good drink for $ 6? Awful Mahi sliders and equally mediocre/blah chicken tacos. Maybe other items are good on the menu? Who knows. The fries and burger sliders where actually not torture, so there’s that… Awesome view, great breeze, good folks … I suggest you get a known quantity like a canned beer or a bottle of ketchup and just enjoy the location.

Happy Hour drinks very disappointing. And what bar h as Pepsi and not Coke. Food was ok but I won’t pay the breakfast or dinner prices to sit on a picnic bench.

A cool place on the beach, party music atmosphere. Friendly waitress. Clean bathroom and a nice selection of food.

The service is extremely slow. First we sat down and waited for 15 minutes while the servers looked at us and didn’t stop by. Once we were served our shakes, they were watered down and tasted more like milk than anything else. The shakes and food was good but nothing phenomenal like I would expect at a Ritz. We sat and waited for our burgers for over an hour. Terrible service. Not attentive staff. We won’t be back.

Good food! I was a little nervous because it’s attached to our hotel and sometimes those types of places can be a bit overpriced. But these guys were great! Delicious blackened fish tacos. And it’s really not to expensive when compared with some of the restaurants in Lahaina

I would actually not give any stars! Last night my mother and I stopped in to the Beach House bar & grill and had a horrible experience due to one of the managers(Mike) who was drunk and had plenty of shots with his beers. We have been coming here as a family over 25 years. My mother told Mike how uncomfortable the chairs are and picnic table are and he basically said he didn’t care and that’s a issue he’s herd a lot from all the old people and that he’s not about to change a thing. He had quiet a foul mouth. After all the drinks he had I wonder if he made it home safely and didn’t hurt anyone. I thought there is laws for drinking and driving.

Ver disappointed. I’m still trying to figure out why this had four stars. My husband wouldn’t drink the coffee. They only had Sweet n Low for sweetener so I had to switch out my ice tea for a Diet Coke. The Diet Coke didn’t have enough syrup in it. Only one piece of toast with my two eggs for $ 8.99. I had to order a side of bacon to get any bacon for an extra $ 4.99. Eggs were good; hash browns good but greasy. My husband liked his crab cake Benedict. Overall, a very under whelming experience and ambience.

The food, service and view are exceptional. Highly recommend for breakfast and brunch. I had the crab cakes benedict which I’ve ordered in LOTS of places. This is the absolute BEST I’ve ever had! My husband had omelette with side of bacon and home fries — tasty, tasty, tasty! You won’t be disappointed!

1 star for the nachos, and 1 star for the view. Things to avoid: — margaritas: quite possibly the worst drink ever mixed — crab cakes — gazpacho — Diet Pepsi: I guess drinks are really not their forte

For locals and frequent Maui visitors, apparently, Dolly’s across the street bought out this place and gave it an A+ renovation! It looks great! The old restaurant was out dated and had plants next to the tables that were riddled with bugs that ultimately jumped into your food… yuck. The restaurant definitely needed a face lift to match it’s pristine location, so great job on that! However, and sadly, there always is a however… the menu prices are nuts! I totally get that they’re mostly catering to tourists and they have to pay their more than likely crazy rent every month, but $ 16.00 for a loco moco. say what?! It wasn’t even that fabulous. Sorry to say. can get a gourmet loco moco in Wailuku that’s 4x the size for $ 10!(I’m not naming names but it’s not a local secret — hello, travel channel).

Epic biscuits and gravy but most of all awesome manager! From the moment we walked in he accommodated us with all our needs including charging my laptop! We asked for a local vodka and he updated us on the upcoming addition. It’s refreshing to be treated with such high standards! I highly recommend coming here! We will for sure be back!

We have been staying here for ten years and this is the best food so far. Same owners as Dollies across the street but different menus. Lots of locals across the street and then Us tourist looking for a drink and the late night Happy Hour Food. Great Ribs and Fish and nice Rib Eye here at the Beach House. Big Problem is the wine ! Not Drinkable and they do not have a corkage fee. We will be back next year with 20 family members for two weeks and hope they get a decent red wine or a corkage fee by then. If you have never drank Samon Creek red it makes J lohr taste like Camus.

I would recommend breakfast here! Had the country fried steak and eggs, let me tell you, best I’ve ever had! My husband had the Loco Moco, first time trying it and it was good not great. Needed a little more flavor. We came here later for happy hour, out of that I would recommend the ahi tuna sliders! The wasabi mayo on them is superb! Other than that, this is a great place for drinks, breakfast and a great view!

I give the beach house bar & grill five stars for many reasons, none of which are due to a five star culinary dining experience. This place is simply not that but absolutely worth going to. As a local resident for 19 years in Kahana I can attest that when I take my family or guests out to eat simple, comfort food, there are virtually NO places to go in this area that are like this. The location is excellent with beachfront views, a sparkling pool and friendly palm trees. The food is comfort, simple and easy and delicious for everyone. Awesome fish tacos(blackened or sautéed are best) and Ahi fish burgers, salads, etc. There are some items that could use improvement but if your hungry and don’t want to eat at McDonald’s or drive all the way to Kaanapali or Lahaina then this is the place to go. Casual dining, comfort, awesome views, cold drinks, picnic tables, a little something for everyone and inexpensive compared to other beachfront dining options in west Maui.

We’ve been coming to this resort for almost 20 years now and the restaurant changes hands with regularity. This iteration is a is not change for the good. Gone are the tables and chairs and replaced with uncomfortable picnic tables. In the bar, the seats now sport nice, hard, and very uncomfortable chairs. It appears the new owners care very little for your comfort and are more concerned with keeping you uncomfortable enough that they turn tables and bar seats as quickly as possible. The food is mediocre at best. We tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and all three meals were typical bar food with higher prices. The food is basic with nothing defining it as special. Also, if you’re selling a beach club atmosphere, maybe a $ 27.00 steak shouldn’t be on the menu, especially if you’re forced to sit in chairs designed during the Inquisition. The waitstaff are all very nice, albeit slower than I would have liked. Overall, if you’re staying here at the resort and want to have a quick meal, you’re kind of screwed on price and quality by going here. If you want better food for the same prices, drive down the road and go where the locals go. It’ll be a better experience overall and you can be a hell of a lot more comfortable. If you’re at a different resort and are thinking of going here, do yourself a favor and think again.

Wasn’t very impressed with overall ambiance. Picnic tables were very uncomfortable and hard. My leg kept falling asleep. Service was very slow… maybe Maui time but even then, really slow. The food was good, and served hot. Overall I’d go for takeout but won’t eat in again
