Napili Kai Beach Resort

Unpleasant staff. Maybe they should be paid more. Walk around the beach yelling at people about chairs. They should find nicer things to do, like spread hospitality.

Location, location, location. This spot is perfect for a family with young children. With a pool, snack bar, a calm beach and enough exploring to keep it interesting — you’ll be happy. What’s missing is customer service. Many of the folks don’t seem to like people very much.

Solid place to stay, great people working and nice environment. If your 3 or 80 you’ll have a great time and fit in. The only problem was the ants getting into any food left open. Other than that, awsome place I’ll be back

Came here last week, enjoyed the restaurant, resort was beautiful. My husband and I really wanted to stay at this resort when we come back to Maui in February as we visit the island every six months. We like it so much we came back the next day for breakfast. Why 2 stars? Well, This review is for the parking attendant who interrogated my family and I when we crossed through the parking lot after we parked outside of the resort while headed to the sea house restaurant. Attendant: «where did you park?»
Me: «outside down the street»
Attendant: «you walked all the way up the street?»
Me: «yes, did you want me to park here?»
Attendant: «no we don’t want you parking here»
Hmmm… I would definitely take a look at how this attendant is coming across to customers as he is the reason why I would never stay here.
On the other hand the gentleman waiter we had was great and very attentive. The views were amazing.

Frakin awesome for the 2 to 5pm pupu’s. Grt prices and grt food. Can’t say enough about this place to eat. Good service.

I would had given this place a 5 stars if it weren’t for the non-​air conditioner rooms and how there’s NO light during night time. Overall, what an amazing experience. Napili Kai is such a beautiful place.
We stayed at west maui, Napili Kai Beach Resort. What a beautiful resort (during the day) the reason I noted that because it’s so incredible dark in Maui!!! No where did I read online that there’s barely any light during the night! We arrived around 11:30PM at night, after we got a rental car at Enterprise we drove roughly an hour to our resort. It was very very hard to locate our hotel. Everything was pitch dark, after one wrong turn — we finally found our resort! Phew — I was actually getting pretty nervous not being able to find the place. We checked in at the front desk, and the receptionist pointed us to the right direction to our room. Sine the resort wasn’t very well lit, it was very hard to locate our room. There were dim lamps along the path but it wasn’t enough to find our room. We ended up using our phone flashlight to find our room.
During the day, the place is beautiful! They have a restaurant inside the resort, Our breakfast was delicious. I got the fresh fruits and my dad got the fried rice. I realized that Hawaii serves many rice options which was heaven for my dad. He got rice for breakfast everyday after that!
I would highly recommended this place! But one thing you do have to note is that it’s FAR from everything else, we mind ourselves driving 1 hour each way just to get to anything central. Otherwise excellent hotel.

We loved staying here! Condos was good. We had an ocean front condo in Lani 1. Wish there was air conditioning though!!! It was seriously hot some days. Also weird master room being open up top with the ceiling from room to living room. Not a lot of privacys. Other than that staff was great! Keiki staff was amazing!!! And the kids loved Ka, he let them go on torch runs with him!

Napili Kai is an amazing place. Nothing like the big mega resort hotels like down in Kanaapali but a true classic low-​key beach resort. Everything about this place says family fun. I have been coming here since 1980 and certain element never change. We took my son this week and now we are a fourth generation family of Napili Kai.
You’ll hear rumblings about the prices or the service in Sea House but don’t let that deter you. Great place, sweet staff and incredible location.

We had an amazing stay and were pleasantly surprised with a last minute upgrade from an ocean view studio to an ocean-​front studio — OMG! We spent the whole week listening to the ocean waves as we slept. The newly renovated rooms have brand new full kitchens (huge fridge, toaster, microwave, range, pots/​pans, plates, etc.) so we were able to save some money on eating out by stocking up at the Napili Market on snacks and drinks, allowing us to indulge in our own private happy hours overlooking the beach. The resort is a fantastic alternative to the high-​rise too-​crowded resorts of Kaanapali and the service was very good. Loved it! :)

This place is positively phenomenal. Absolutely no complaints here, and I seriously wish I could give this place greater than 5 stars.
Napili Kai is a beach resort in Maui that’s along a strip of a number of resorts on the beach. The actual area is quite large, but the hotel/​resort itself occupies a small cut of a small bay. The place doesn’t seem huge — I’d estimate maybe 50 rooms or so — because there aren’t any high-​rises or other condo-​like features that detract from the scenery. Everything is natural, beautiful, and calming.
The rooms here are without peer. We stayed in a one-​bedroom suite, which was absolutely huge, faced the ocean, and was immaculately clean. Rooms are broken down into «Ocean View» or «Ocean Front,» which means very little — the views were spectacular even from the «Ocean View» room given that all buildings are on a massive slope. The room was was easily the best hotel room I’d ever stayed in, at least in the resort context. Even the little touches — the fully stocked kitchen, the easily available laundry facilities, the number of fresh water pools and hot tubs right outside our room — were nice. We even had a family of birds that chilled out on our balcony most of our stay!
The amenities here are also excellent. The bay itself is a perfect place for swimming, snorkeling, or the like — the coral was beautiful to check out. The beach wasn’t crowded either, though I will note that it does get a bit crowded during peak times (as is usual for the area). Snorkels and other basic amenities can be borrowed for free, which was awesome. I will note that there didn’t seem to be room service or free DVD rental — both of which seem to be common in other areas nearby — but given the nearby restaurants and Redboxes, neither were necessary at all. The wireless internet here is a hair slow, but the wired internet seemed just fine, so I imagine my experience was simply due to distance from a nearby router.
Service here is also excellent. No stress, no problems, just efficiency and niceness. They even helped out with little inane things, like sending a postcard.
The restaurant here — the Sea House Restaurant — I will review separately, but suffice to say, it’s pretty good. There are better places in the area (Mamas, pending you can make the drive), but that’s to be expected with hotel restaurants.
Price-​wise, this is competitive with the area. We used a Groupon, which made the price VERY attractive. To the extent the Groupon is still an option, I strongly recommend it.
I cannot recommend this place enough and, if in Maui again, very much intend to visit again.

I don’t have a single negative thing to say about our stay at Napili Kai.
I did a ton of research prior to booking lodging in Maui. After a friend recommended the Napili area for it’s beautiful beach, we found Napili kai and booked a week stay.
We were instantly impressed upon arrival. The front desk agent was extremely informative and accommodating. We arrived several hours before check in but the staff expedited cleaning of our room and let us check in by 10am, very appreciated!
The room exceeded our expectations. We chose an ocean view studio and our view of the ocean was breath taking. The room was large, clean, updated and we loved having a kitchenette in the room. The large patio with lounge chairs and a dining table was the best part and we enjoyed sitting out there every morning of our trip.
Probably the best thing about this resort was the ease and convenience of everything. They don’t up charge for every little thing. There were no resort fees and parking was complimentary (I loved that we could park basically right in front of our unit). There are also tons of great amenities that we enjoyed, putting course, free snorkel equipment to use right there at Napili Bay, refreshments basically around the clock etc. We also had a couple of really great happy hours at the Sea House restaurant on the property, awesome drinks and food!
Napili Bay and Napili kai beach resort definitely stole a piece of our hearts and we plan to return every year. Thank you so much for an amazing vacation!

No flaws! Beautiful room, right on beach and amazing restaurant. Snorkeling spot! Nice pool, great view. It’s just perfect.

We did not stay at the resort but the restaurant was the perfect breakfast spot. Right on the sand overlooking the ocean. The service was excellent and the food was just as good as I remember from my last visit 20 years ago! Get the banana macadamia nut pancakes!!! Yum…

Love the beach, the hotel is like a glorified extended stay you could find in Columbus Ohio, the rooms that is. As for the hot tub each time the jets went off it kept spewing bleach fumes No hairdryer in the room. Eye sore of a construction going on, reduce your rates if you’re going to give mediocre views and annoying sounds of drilling, sawing, etc. Gave me headaches.

The ideal laid back, non touristy resort.
We stayed for 5 nights here and we thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s not like a Westin hotel; and that’s a good thing. The resort area is beautiful and it’s not over crowded. You’ve got the best view for sunsets in the whole bay.
If you’re looking for a hotel with a big pool and a bar nearby, then this isn’t it! There aren’t a lot of kids and the rooms are nice.
Rooms: some don’t have AC so call ahead and let them know that you want it. The rooms all have a kitchenette, that is full size fridge and it has dishes, toaster, pots and pans. This is a great way to save cash, as we made our own breakfast, lunch, and dinner a few nights.
Resort: the highlight is Napili beach. On trip advisor the Napili beach is the 12^th rated attraction (out of 700+ in all of Maui) The pools are nice and private. They are 7 feet deep and there are several of them. The big pool was being re buit and won’t be done until December. Towels and chairs are included. They have nice events for residents: like free Mai Thais or 50 cent drinks (Legit ones) plus there is on sight laundry machines for $ 1.50 per load, if you’re here for a while. They provide detergent.
The staff are really friendly and kind. It’s a great resort and prefect if you’re not looking for the big hotel experience. We visited Ka’anappali Beach Resort on a scuba lesson, and we laughed at how much better our place was.
Here is the clincher. One afternoon, I am walking back from the beach and I see our waiter from the Old Lahana Luau sitting on the grass at Napili Kai Beach Resort, eating lunch with his family. This is where the locals go.

If you want to ‘Get Away’ this is the place to be. We had a stunning view of the beach, in front of the pool and vibrant green grass. So peaceful in its own little cove. The bay is a nice place to snorkel. We got to see a honu (sea turtle) and a lot of other tropical fish. We went swimming every chance we had during our stay. Staff is very friendly. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip.

The sunsets were amazing, the beach perfect, and the snorkeling was the best I’d seen directly from a beach.

he was so busy to take care of another costomer. we never met him before but he didnt like us parsonaly.
we asked hostes to change table and get food finally. unfortunaly we didnt feel good eather.

After four days at this wonderful resort, we can easily give it a five star rating. The setting is outstanding, the staff people are highly trained and very efficient we would be hard pressed to find anything wrong as of this writing. I would come back here in a moments notice and we just might do that in the not too distant future. What a wonderful surprise.
