Maui Barista Coffee, Smoothies, Shave Ice

This was definitely the worst shave ice we tried while in Maui. Besides the bad service, I was shocked at how little care was put into the dessert. No packing, sloppy, less than generous pours, and overall low-​quality product. The flavors tasted really artificial in contrast to the bold, clean flavors from Ululani’s. Definitely worth skipping and heading over to the Yogurtland across the way.

Expensive, with disinterested service, but it’s the closest place to get a good shave ice if you’re staying at Kaanapali.

If I could give zero stars I would. I also wish I read the precious review before making the stop here.
The experience was bad from start to finish… the prices are high for not having ice-​cream in the bottom of the cup. While the girl was making our shaved ice she stopped to have a conversation with the Subway guy from next door, she then proceeded to make him a coffee while we were waiting with a line of folks behind us. My sister told her that was poor service, which it was, and she started laughing and came back to our shaved ice. We had already had to tell her a few times which flavors we wanted on the two cups, we should have just wrote it down for her. She then proceeded to pour the wrong flavors on the cups, we decided to just let it go and be done.
Halfway through our cup I see a baby hair in the middle of my shaved ice, in my spoon that was about to go in my mouth. When I showed it to her she said there was nothing there and dumped the rest of the cup in the sink and started to pick through it as it was all going down the drain. I told her obviously she couldn’t see it since she just dumped it down the drain. She continued to look through the mess she made in the sink saying she didn’t see anything over and over again. I kept telling her it had been in the spoon but she did not listen. I told her I was very unhappy and wanted a refund. She said a manager needed to approve that but did not want to call her manager. I told her I wasn’t leaving her kiosk without my $ 5.75 back and that she was going to need to call her manager. She told me that this was stupid she didn’t see a hair but would call her manager. Thankfully her manager approved the refund and se basically threw the money back at me.
If you are thinking of going here don’t, spend a few extra bucks and find a place with better service and ice cream at the bottom of the cup… the way it should be

Ended up here because Island Press Coffee, which is supposed to have excellent shave ice, was inexplicably closed on a Thursday afternoon. Very poor experience — no toppings of any kind other than syrups, no ice cream or red beans for underneath, grainy ice, expensive ($ 4.75). Very underwhelming.
