Great little public library. As a non-resident, For $ 10 you can get a library card during your stay. We borrowed a bunch of children’s stories written by Hawaiians; a great way to learn more about the culture as a family. They also have a decent classics section if you are looking for a good novel to read while you lounge by the beach. Also, your library card gives you access to their online eBook and magazine database. Best $ 10 I spent on vacation!

The library is small and not really air conditioned, so it isn’t that great to relax in. However it was nice to see a library and we spent about a good two hours relaxing and reading from all the time we spent walking around. Reading is a lost art these days so we need to support libraries all the more. I found the previous review by either owner or employee to be funny because she rated a four star when she could just rate their own establishment 5 star. It certainly doesn’t impress me as much as say… The library at UCLA, but I am going to give a five star because of that modest four star rating ;) We had a great 2 hours here. Thank you.

they are beyond wonderful. i know that those ladies love books and my best friend kai was really surprised that they even know the dewy decimal thing that i learned when i was a little kid. they are super nice with everyone from moms to homeless people. the have a very good view of everything going on in lahaina-with their social class goggles on, and people that deal with books, i.e. information, should have that point of view.

Great location for a public library right on the ocean, what is not to like. This is truly a locals library with free Kama’aina & Military cards however visitors are welcome to a 3 month library card for $ 10.00. We printed our return flight boarding passes for only .15 a page even though the website says .20 per page that is a great deal since our time share is .25 per page with a minimum charge of $ 2.00 to use the computers with wifi. Anyway this is a nice place to relax and read a magazine or the newspaper and if you decide on the visitor’s check out some library books during your stay.
