History

Established in 1971.

When Marshall Stamper, M.D., opened a Newport Beach weight loss clinic back in 1971, he had no way of knowing he would ultimately help hundreds of thousands of people improve their health and change their lives. Motivated by the loss of his mother, who died of obesity-​related complications, Dr. Stamper pioneered a comprehensive, results-​oriented program that helped patients lose weight rapidly and safely. At the same time, Dr. Stamper’s program taught people how to change their physiology, making it easier to maintain the new, healthier weight.

Business Owner

Cynthia Stamper Graff is President and CEO of Lindora, one of the largest multi-​site medical weight control systems in the United States. A nationally recognized expert in the field of weight management, she has been actively involved in the growth and development of Lindora since 1988. Lindora has been ranked one of the «Top 500 Women Owned Businesses in America» by Working Woman magazine three times.

Graff is the author of The New Lean for Life, published in 2014 by Harlequin. Her three previous books, including the bestselling Lean for Life, have sold more than one million copies.

Graff received the Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award in 2012 from Orange County Business Journal. A previous recipient of the magazine’s Women in Business Award, she is the first person to have received both honors.

Graff holds a law degree from York University in Toronto, and a B.S. in business finance from California State University-​Long Beach. She resides in Newport Beach, California.
