Kona Ice Shave Ice of Orange County

Quick and easy. Was at the Orange county marketplace and had a snow cone and it was thirst quenching. Not a bad price either

This place surprised me! I read on a few reviews the ice is crunchy, not like the real Hawaiian shaved ice that can just melt in your mouth! Well, I think it taste ok. The was smoother then I thought and the flavors are nothing special, but hey it was free so I didn’t complain. It was good, but it’s not like Hawaiian shaved ice you get in Hawaii

Perfect for hot days after school. Long lines but she was fast. They take card yay! fun flavors for the kids and they actually taste good. Raspados are bigger and cheaper tho with the same concept lol. Very cute truck. You get a free snap band with a certain order which I found neat too.

I must say I love the flavor choices on the outside of the shave ice mobile, that is cleaver and different then the rest. I have had many different shave ice places on the islands and off of them. Hula Girl Shave Ice Is #1 here in CA. I would say that this shave ice has more of a crunchy texture then the snow /​smooth style of shave ice I have grown to love. The truck is super cute though :)

Got to try Kona for the first time. Reminds me of an actual snow cone growing up. Not your shaved ice Korean style or Taiwanese. This is just plain ice bits & you pour on the delicious syrup flavors. My ultimate favorite was the Tigers Blood. Not only did the name intrigue me but it was so tasty. The combination of tropical flavors like pineapple, mango, coconut & vanilla were so good on the warm day I had it. The wild watermelon was also super yummy. Taste like actual watermelon. I actually go real light on the syrup since I am an avid ice cruncher. I actually like the taste & feel of plain clear ice cubes or chunks or chips. So good!

When our snowcone machine didn’t arrive I remembered what a great experience we had with the Kona truck at a birthday party last year and so I took a chance and called, knowing it was probably a longshot. Within minutes I had a return phone call, and one of the most helpful people I’ve encountered with a vendor in a long time. Needless to say, they saved the day, sending a truck to our location within hours, and providing an amazing experience for 100 happy fourth graders! I will recommend the Kona truck every time someone needs a little fun at a party, and I am sure going to try to find an occasion to use them again.

Two thumbs up for Kona. I had the idea to host a 31 Flavors themed party for my 31^st birthday (I also like shave ice more than ice cream myself). Most my friends have kids, so I got my fill of shave ice and did a picnic at the park show casing Kona as my guests had to come up with their 31 flavor recipes of shave ice treats. With all their flavor options and other ice cream treats, my guests, kids and adults, loved it. I had the party on Jan 6 and it was 50 degrees outside with some light rain. Despite the cold, everyone ate it and some even had seconds. I did my research of similar vendors and Kona was reasonable for everything they offered and was extremely pleased with the service I got. I worked with Dan, and he was friendly and accomodating to my needs. Steven was the Kona rep at the event and he was good with the kids. I have no complaints and would recommend Kona to anyone who wants to bring something fun and novel to their event. I hope to use them again in the future.

The Kona Shaved Ice Truck is great for office events, fund raisers, kids parties, and family gatherings. This year we hired them for our office picnic. They pulled up in their truck playing music which really got everyone excited. They gave me a really good deal since we had over 60 people attending. The team pulled up, opened up their window, and began dishing out shaved ice. Everyone was able to pick there own flavors. At the end they gave out tattoos and wrist bands which the kids loved. I would hire them again.

Got Kona Ice at the Irvine Global Festival. This isn’t the most authentic shave ice (I’ve had many in Hawaii) but it wasn’t bad. The ice isn’t soft and snowy– there’s a bit of a crunch left to it (which is a no-​no for real shave ice). As the syrup and ice melts, it gets pretty hard at the bottom and the amount of syrup was a little on the light side. I had peach and cherry limeade which are pretty good flavors but the truck also has a long list is of other flavors. I would not go out of my way to get shave ice here but at the same time, it’s not a horrible place. The guy is really friendly so he gets props for that.

We had Kona Ice Shave come to our school… what an awesome truck! The kids loved it… especially being able to self serve their our syrup :) Great «food truck» for any event. It would be great if they can post where they are «right now» so we can visit if they’re close.

Since this is a «food truck» I am not sure why the other poster tried to «drive there». The address on Constructtion Circle is a commerical commissary where the food trucks park when in storage.
Wish the self-​serve syrup spouts had more sugar free flavors, but otherwise a good treat that the kids like.

The Kona Shaved Ice Truck has some pretty good shaved ice. Almost as good as the stuff over in Hawaii. The problem is that there are only a few flavors and you get to put the flavors onto the ice. If you’re an idiot like me, you just end up pouring the syrup on your hands. Though, it was quite refreshing to have hands that smell like raspberries.

This truck Rocks!!! Shaved ice is very smooth and many many many flavors to choose from!
