Great customer service! Nice selection of bikes for kids and adults. They let you test ride the bike in the parking lot behind them. They adjusted everything just perfect with no wait and one of the employees even did us the favor of delivering it. We will definitely recommend this shop to our friends.

I am a avid road bike junkie but recently I have been dabbling in Mountain Bike experiences and when after my 3^rd time out, I took in a thorn in my rear tire. Normally I would just change out the tube myself and be on my way but being a consumer who supports the smaller bike shops, I decided to save my fingers from the grease and try Jax.
I was greeted immediately by all staff members than advised by Garet on using a thorn resistant tube. Then for a small price. He replaced the punctured ture and sooner than I could begin my review, I was on my way.
Excellent prices great service and a very clean shop.

Just purchased a Trek bike for my grandson. Dani was extremely knowledgable and helpful at sizing and recommending the perfect bike. This is our second bike from this store, and I’d have to say that these people definitely know their subject. Next time we need a bike, we’ll be back!

Josh is absolutely incredible. I bought a bike and I was treat like a king went above and beyond to help me out. I literally drive 9 miles out of my way driving past many bike shops along to go here for the service. There is a performance shop 2 miles away from me. Took care of my trade in, my computer, my fit size, my wheels and help setup finance I cannot praise him enough really awesome!!!

Too bad zero stars is not an option.
8 days ago my son and I dropped off his basic BMX bike rim to Jax to get a replacement. Its a basic «Sean White» 2014 BMX bike with basic 20″ rim. Mom accidentally ran over the tire and cracked the side wall. Anyways, 3 people had to look up what kind of rim and parts were needed and said it was a «special order». They said they would have it in stock on Thursday and it was $ 56 ($ 13 to change the tire and tube to the new rim mind you). Ok no biggie we will wait and just pay when we pick it up. Anyways Thursday and Friday come and go with no call. Saturday we call and ask whats up, they said they have it in stock and just forgot to call. So I run over there to pick it up, but they didn’t move the chain gear (rear tire) to the new rim. Ok well we paid $ 15 to have you move it people! So we have to leave it again because the «tech» doesn’t know how to move a gear from one rim to another. Today (Monday) we call and are told they couldn’t move the gear and they ordered the wrong rim all together. I was told we can pick up the tire and try somewhere else… REALLY!!!
NOT «hey we messed up and will take care of this for you, please give us a few more days», no you can come pick up your rim you waited over a week for. I went in and picked it up and both employees were like sorry have a nice day… Total incompetence.
I took the rim to Sports Chalet across the parking lot and in 2 minutes the tech there said he knew the exact rim to order and exactly what we need. $ 25 total out the door!
I recommend if you need your bike repaired, you DO NOT GO TO JAX. I will never go back there and all those repair techs should be fired. Rip off costs, incompetent employees, ZERO customer service. Jax Bicycles is a JOKE!
Update (same Monday) — Sports Chalet found a replacement and had it delivered to their store this evening. They just called and its ready for pickup now. Sports Chalet also let me know that when Jax transferred the tube from broken rim to wrong rim and back to broken rim, they punctured the tube. You guys are awesome Jax, please go out of business soon you are taking up space for another legitimate business. Idiots!

Dan, Scott and Garrett went the extra mile to ensure my bike was ready for the Long Beach Century this weekend. I had a successful finish with no mechanical problems whatsoever. Thanks guys for keeping me on the toads!

Exemplary customer service! Loved the experience I got from picking up my new trek bike today. Dan took great care of me by really considering my situation and helping me pinpoint the bike I needed. Jax has raised the bar for me and I’ll definitely return for all my service needs and future bicycle purchases.

I had a pretty urgent need for repair to my knee walker that uses small bike tires. This walker is my only way of getting around. I have a back up but it gives me very limited mobility. I called to see if they had the necessary parts and drove over expecting to leave it with then over night. When I arrived I was greeted in the parking lot with assistance getting the walker inside. Once in the repair area Scott took a look at the situation and suggested some improvements and then dove right in to the repair. I was offered a chair and a bottle of water while I waited, which was not long. Repairs were completed expertly and quickly and after paying a bill less than a third of what I expected to pay my walker was better than new. They assisted getting my back up walker into the car and I was on my way.
This is the type of customer experience rarely encountered these days. I don’t expect to have much business to send their way but would recommend then to anyone who does

Where do I start… Chantel the wonderful sales associate was phenomenal! She helped me figure out which bike to buy for my boyfriend and I. It was a surprise gift and she helped in every way. She even went to hobby lobby and purchased a cute frame and put it on the bike for a cute surprise. My boyfriend LOVED the bike! Chantel is an exceptional representative for JAX. They should be very lucky to have her working for them! I would most definitely recommend JAX for anyone considering buying a bike! Thank you again Chantel!

My boys saved up for almost a year to get their new 24 inch MTBs. Jax was our first stop and we were immediately impressed by Chanteil’s friendliness and knowledge. We decided to check out one more shop just to check fit for another brand bike, but we were back at Jax immediately. The boys both liked the Trek model better and all of us really appreciated the amazing customer service and care we received. Chanteil went out of her way to build an additional bike for us and took great care to fit it specifically for each child. We never felt rushed, and we all learned something from our time there. We couldn’t be happier with our experience or our purchase.

Went in to replace the housing on gear cables and change a tire. Had to wait 10 minutes until the service person sold an expensive bike so he could make his quota for the month. Finally got to me and had to change gear selector grips that he said is not made anymore. Quoted two weeks maximum for waiting time. After two weeks I was called and told that the grips ordered are the wrong ones for the bike which was their mistake and I could upgrade with a gear changer that fits for more money. Decided against it because it was their mistake.
Waited two more weeks until the right parts showed up and upon inspection they used an old gear cable jacket on one of the cables. This was the original reason I had brought the bike in for service anyway. The service person was rude and made up excuses. Now I have to wait another one to two weeks until it is the jacket is ordered. The store personnel lack technical knowledge and customer service skills.
Hopefully they can get it right the third time. What a nuisance. Save yourself the trouble and stay away from this place unless you need to buy an expensive Trek when they give you the red carpet treatment for the commission.

Husband and I went to Jax today looking to buy two Electra Townie 8i bicycles. The salesman was very rude, ridiculing our selection and telling us these bikes were only good for riding from bar to bar in Dana Point or from donut shop to donut shop in Huntington Beach. He told us that the best selling bike was the Townie 7i. I guess I hurt his feelings when I corrected him and told him the 7 speed Townie was a d (dérailleur) and not an i (internal hub) like we wanted.
My husband continued talking with him, and found out that Trek had bought Electra recently. When my husband said he hadn’t heard that, the salesman snapped «who’s the dummy now?» I don’t think there is ever a good reason to call a customer a dummy.
We took our $ 2000 and decided to go to our local shop, Buy My Bikes in San Juan Capistrano. They provide great customer service and are happy to sell us the bicycles we want.

I recently started getting into biking and I’m not very knowledgable about the latest and greatest, but what I do know is customer service. This team knows how to do it.
From the initial greeting when you walk in the door to them making sure you are always assisted, even when they are slammed.
Best part is, they are not trying to get in your wallet. The shifter broke on my mountain bike 3 weeks after they tuned it up and they fixed it at no charge. They could have easily up sold me on a new bike, as I just put over $ 100.00 into a bike from 1990, but they didn’t even talk about it until I asked. They wanted to be sure I got what I came for an all my questions were answered. They then went as far as installing a pair of $ 5.00 break pads that I decided to purchase.
Before I left, I felt so taken care of that I asked if they could ring in a gratuity so I can leave the 3 guys a tip and all I had was a credit card. They politely declined and said there was no need to do that.
I will not buy my next bike anywhere else.

In 2012 I was looking for a new mountain bike. I really liked Specialized StumpJumper and had my heart set on that bike. Sadly, the design had changed and I didn’t like the new styling. My second choice was Trek and only Jax was an authorized dealer for this brand. I went to their location off of Crown Valley in Mission Viejo.
I bought the Trek 3900D and asked them to install a kickstand. The had a few colors to chose from but I wanted a grey colored bike. It had to be ordered so I asked them to install the kickstand then call me when it was in. They called me to tell me my bike was in. I go and pick it up and whoever installed the kickstand really didn’t know how to intall this simple accessory. Left me with a lot of confidence in their service department!
I am a stickler when it comes to customer service and product knowledge. I tested a few of their employees. The store manager was knowledgeable but their employees at their former Crown Valley store were clueless. The overall merchandising of this store was terrible. Impluse items like water bottles, cages, tools were not in areas where customers can find it and make a purchase. They had a limited selection of helmets, gloves and other accessories like air pumps, locks and tools.
My Trek 3900D had a recall on the front suspension fork. I was never notified of this recall. I only learned about it when I was on a biking trip and a fellow bkier told me there was a recall on the suspension fork. JAX took all my information and never called me nor have I ever received any sales postcards or flyers from them.
I gave them 3-​Stars for the following reasons: 1) Kickstand was not properly installed; 2) Employees not attentive to customers in the store to where the customer had to go up to an employee to ask for help; 3) Was not notified of any recall on my Trek. This last one is a major flaw. You are looking at a safety flaw and your customer could get severely injured.
I am also a customer of Performance Bicycle in Laguna Niguel and they have an awesome staff plus a wide selection of accessories and bikes (they are a Specialized dealer). I generally buy most of my gear from Performance because of their better informed staff at all levels. They also told me even theough they are not a Trek dealer they can service my bike too!

I have been here 3 times and every visit has been fantastic. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this bicycle shop and will continue to go there myself.

We’ve purchased 2 bikes here in the last month (xcaliber 5 and a fuel ex7). The sales and service could not have been better. No pressure to buy anything, they showed us all the options and were stoked with us in whatever we chose. Great buying experience and a knowledgeable and friendly staff. We will surely make this our official local bike shop.

I’m not a bike expert what so ever but have the knowledge that a bike store is much better than buying a bike at a big chain x-​mart.
I came with my girlfriend and they assisted us in every possible way. We left with proper knowledge of how to use /​care for our new bikes and with smiles on our faces.
I recommend this place to anyone that wants a great bike and great service.

Great bike store! I’ve been here a few times and the staff is always pleasant and helpful. There isn’t that snobby vibe I’ve experienced at other bike stores. Keep it up Jax! :)

Went in to get the derailleurs adjusted as the chain was rubbing bad and not shifting right. Cost $ 15, saves me a big headache. The guy who fixed up my bike was friendly and adjusted other areas on my bike as well to be helpful. He was showing me what he was doing because I was interested. I’d definitely go back for service, I didn’t check out their retail prices.
Their shop is in a nice part of the parking lot tucked away where you aren’t carrying your bike through strolling grocery shoppers or by people going to the junk store, I mean Hobby Lobby.
