The Razors Edge BarberShop

I am new to the area, so I tried here for a beard trim and cut. Excellent work. Better attention to detail than a salon and at a fraction of the price. Definately going back for my next cut.

I’m impressed. This is a no frills, to the point barber shop, and I got a quality haircut. I have never bothered to review a place on Unilocal until now, but felt like this place deserved some added reviews. I was gifted a groupon for The Razor’s Edge, so I figured that I wouldn’t let it go to waste. I’m glad I took the chance on this plavce, and I will be back for another cut. I can’t remember the name of the woman who cut my hair, but she did a great job.

Took about 30 minutes and $ 16 dollars to get a buzz cut that was uneven. Buzz cut listed as $ 12, asked for it shorter on the sides and woman who was cutting my hair said it would be a haircut because a buzz cut is one length all the way around. Stray long hairs left all over my head, patch of long hair in the back of my head. Asked for a 3, she gave me a 4, and asked if it was ok, had to tell her no I really wanted a 3. Changed her guard to a longer version of a 3 with a different set of clippers. Took way to long, had to basically convince with her to get the haircut that I wanted. Feel overcharged, didn’t even get a good buzz.

The other reviews sound good. The first time I went, the results were fine. I was told that there are no appointments. The next time, a few weeks later, I did note the signup pad and so signed in. There were 3 people ahead of me and 3 in chairs receiving haircuts. A 4^th customer came in shortly thereafter. One barber, a lady, finished her customer and apparently took a long, 10 minute break — not the lady’s room. After 1 barber taking one customer before me, a mother with her son came in and was taken immediately. NO APPOINTMENTS! No explanation and no greetings at any time with me. My wife, who accompanied me, and I waited about 10 more minutes and decided to leave. We both thought that this was an unfriendly shop. We cannot recommend this shop. My wife who goes to a different ladies hair salon thought that this shop was not clean for two reasons. For one, they simply blew the hair on the floor away from the chairs and did not collect it after a hair cut. More important, they did not clean their tools, scissors, combs, etc., properly. They simply used an air hose and blew air over them. That is not adequate hygiene.

Old-​school barbershop feeling with a twist. This is a great neighborhood gem, I tried it out today on a Groupon and will return for sure. The value proposition holds, and Razor’s Edge reminds me of the barbershops I visited while living on the East Coast, and in Italy. I hope this place gets the popularity they need to thrive, without becoming too commercial.
If I may suggest one thing: offer a beverage to your customers… may make the difference to many clients!

Was in the area and checked the place on Unilocal and decided to stop in. Good place to get your hair cut. Clean and friendly. First visit had hair cut by Michael. Good job. Takes time to understand what you want and walks you thru things. It can be one thing to try and describe how you would like your hair cut, and a completely different thing when the person cutting your hair understands the look you want. Walked out with the sense that I would return to The Razors Edge for another hair cut when I need one.

When getting a great haircut matters, i liked to go to see Jim. He makes you look great!
I also like his personality… He is a great guy in general. He is from Michigan and treats people well and i just really think he’s a cool guy.

We took my 2 oldest boy’s here today. I cannot say enough great things about this place and the owner Jim and the others who work here.
Mike cut my kids hair and just from a picture was spot on in making their cuts amazing. My kids have NEVER had such great haircuts. My husband is going back to get his done here. Had we known what a great place this was he would have gone last week when he needed a haircut. Very clean and the place is very nice inside. They have a flatscreen tv on the wall, have music playing quietly and the seating is comfortable.
