Very delicious chocolate! I got a cute Mothers Day box filled with dark chocolate goodies! Full of almonds and semi sweet dark chocolate – yummy! My father-​in-​law goes here often and I am lucky to have tried Luisa’s chocolate!

Each time I visit, Luisa has treated me like a visiting dignitary. She patiently explained the ingredients of each of the pieces I considered, gave me samples, suggested pairings of flavors based on my preferences, and helped me select an assortment as a gift that was a huge hit with the recipient. Prices range around $ 2/​piece for assortments– well worth it for locally made, and extremely tasty, chocolates. Luisa also offers bars and custom pieces, so if you want to shout «HAPPY DIVORCE» or «MAZEL TOV» she’s got you covered. My only minor complaint is that she’s not open on weekends, so plan accordingly.

Luisa is the seriously the sweetest woman ever — she treated my sister and I like royalty when we entered her cute little chocolate shop. From telling us fun personal stories to teaching us about the benefits of consuming dark chocolate, you can tell that Luisa deeply cares about her work and products. One story I really enjoyed was the fact that she told us that she would be willing to search and purchase a certain mold if you needed one for a special event. Luisa literally goes out of her way to make her customers happy and I really value that. Also, she allowed my sister and I to try a sample of each chocolate flavor and thoroughly explained how her chocolates are much different than the ones that are mass-​manufactured.
When we entered Luisa Chocolate, you would see different molded chocolates on every side of you. To name a few, guitars molds, Despicable Me lollipops, chocolate boxes that go with wine, etc. Literally, it is like the mini version of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory in here. I ordered 44 customized Palm Tree chocolate lollipops and Luisa surely outdid herself! These Palm trees consisted of either a mixture of milk and white chocolate or dark chocolate. Who knew you could mix chocolates on a lollypop?! Also, she wrapped each lollipop beautifully in a plastic cover and tied each one with a colorful ribbon.
Luisa Chocolatiere is the perfect place to order customized chocolates and I have never seen chocolate as beautiful and tasty as the ones she makes.

If you have not tried Luisa’s you MUST!!! Not only is Luisa one of the sweetest (ha ha play on words) people you will meet, her staff is equally amazing! Her shop is cute, everything is displayed nicely and you can sample the different varieties of chocolate.
The dark chocolate, almond and sea salt clusters are to die for! I also bought 100% dark organic chocolate with stevia and those are awesome. I tried the almond truffles as well. I justify eating all these goodies because dark chocolate is good for you and much is organic! Luisa does not use preservatives and uses only premium ingredients. Need I say more?

Came here yesterday to get chocolates for my husband for our wedding anniversary. The place is tiny but cute. Got assisted really fast with a girl who I cannot remember her name. They make the chocolates in house and she gave my daughter and I samples. Another woman came to help and I think she was the owner. I cannot remember her name either since I was distracted by my 1 and 3 yr olds. Bought a box of truffles and a tiny chocolate turkey. Coming back for sure.

One of a kind amazing legit chocolates. After a couple years of my Dad bringing my siblings and I so many goodies from Luisa’ s shop we finally had the pleasure of meeting her this past weekend at the book fair event at OCC in Costa Mesa. Wow they are the nicest ladies ever and all the different variety of chocolates from milk to dark mmmmm I recommend them to all the chocolate lover’s even the one’s not a fan of chocolate, there are so many different varieties anyone is bound to find something to satisty their chocolaty taste buds. Another major plus you can actually order online which I wasn’t aware of till this weekend. Makes me so happy since I don’t live near the area, my family and I can one’s again get our chocolate fix from this AMAZING place. yayyy

very original gift items for every occasion you can think of and then some! They will ship too.

I had sampled and purchased Luisa Chocolatiere chocolates several years ago at the Orange County Chocolate Festival. At the time, the store had very limited hours M-​F while I was working, so I could not make it in. Now the store hours have been extended from 11 am to 6 pm M-​F, so I was able to stop in after work.
What a great little place and I mean little. Located in a strip mall in Laguna Hills, make sure you look for the green umbrella, (a tip from another Unilocaler) which is next to the store.
The sweet girl that helped me offered me a sample of chocolate. She then proceeded to show me what types of confectioneries they sold. Along the left wall, there were packaged chocolates, like chocolate-​covered pretzels, chocolate truffle almonds, etc.
Along the other wall, there were various white, milk and dark chocolate shaped items like footballs, suckers, hearts, etc.
They had some cool chocolate plaques with messages like, «Thank you» and «Happy Birthday,» which were great for gift giving.
Most of my purchases came from the front case, though.
In the case there were many types of handmade chocolates such as caramel chocolate turtles, chocolate geckos, chocolate frogs, chocolate covered rice krispy treats, haystacks (my favorite), truffles, and so many more. This was the extent of my purchases which was a lot less than I really wanted to purchase but I was trying not to go nuts.
I gave some as gifts, but my favorites I tasted were the Irish truffle, chocolate haystacks and the chocolate gecko which was a rice krispy treat covered in chocolate. Yum!
They will custom make party favors, wedding favors, custom chocolate gifts and sugar-​free chocolates here. I was told to make sure I return during the holidays and check out the chocolate turkeys and special seasonal chocolates for Christmas. I will definitely be back. As a chocolate lover, this is another truly special hidden gem in South Orange County that I am happy to have found.

Thank you so much for making my anniversary special. My husband and I are celebrating our 4^th anniversary and the traditional gift is fruit and flowers — not wanting to buy my husband flowers I opted for the fruit option and I called to see if chocolate covered strawberries was possible, it was! She took my order over the phone and sight and taste unseen I ordered (thank you fellow Unilocalers for the rating that helped me do this)…I came to pick up today and the box was decorated so sweet and I got to sample the chocolates in store too. Everything was amazing and delicious, I will definitely be shopping here again — they don’t use any preservatives in their chocolate so it tastes amazing! Again Louisa is amazing! Mothers Day is comming! Order your chocolate now!!! First year EVER… I’m early for mom’s present. (Mostly because I wanted more of Louisa’s dark chocolate almonds… omega 3’s right?) She will be hand dipping strawberries on Saturday, but you better prepared order! Thank you Louisa! My mom is going to be very happy with her heart shaped chocolate box full of truffles.

It’s too bad that there isn’t a 6-​star rating, because Luisa’s chocolates deserve that! Always outstanding!!!

I got a box of 6 truffles as a gift from here.
Each truffle was the perfect size, had just the right amount of flavor, and was creamy and decadent.
I will surely start coming here for the random necessary treat every chocoholic needs here and there.

Oompa Lumpas and Willy Wonka have nothing on this place. Fresh and home made chocolate creations of all kinds. The store is tiny but the back area is huge. Huge in heart and love. Nothing but love in this chocolate and you can taste every bit of it. I have no idea who Luisa is, but her chocolate creations have made their way straight to my heart!

I love truffles. A truffle just might be my last meal on earth if I had a choice. Luisa has a variety of creations to choose from. My favorite is probably the orange cream.
Chocolate Turtles, Chocolate Pretzel Sticks, Eatable Cups and Bottles. these are just a few of the unique creations.

This was my favorite. A very unique creation and so much flavor in the tiniest of pieces of chocolate. I could eat these forever!

A friend took me here & was warmly welcomed by Luisa’s husband. We chatted & talked about their chocolates & offered us a sample. Then Luisa came out and we each picked a handful of chocolates. They just melt in your mouth!
Luisa mention the thousands of molds they have and they can custom make whatever in 48 hours. They carry a small amount a day since their chocolate has no preservatives. They do have a wide variety of chocolates to choose from as well as salted caramels. Yum!
These are lovely people with a lovely shop filled with melt in your mouth chocolate! Must visit!

I just love Luisa’s chocolates. She is so sweet and nice and is so accommodating. I went on for a box of truffles and she made them up on the spot. And then I wanted some dark sea salt Carmel’s and they only had one so she made up a bunch more for me. What a wonderful place. She deserves all these 5 stars she is getting.

Luisa is great! I came in last minute for chocolate sea shells and other sea shaped chocolates. She was able to custom make everything I asked for. It was for my wife’s birthday beach cake. Luisa disguised them for me by putting them in a Macy’s box so my wife wouldn’t find out. Brilliant, and she grounded up a box of graham crackers for the sand. This place is wonderful. 5 stars!

I stopped by Luisa’s one time and it was closed. And I was bummed because I had read such good things about her chocolates on Unilocal.And I needed some chocolates for a gift. I vowed to come back.
Fast forward to the end of May… my anniversary is fast approaching and I’m thinking, «I’ll score some major points and buy her flowers AND chocolates!» I arrive at Luisa’s door midday.
LOOK FOR THE UMBRELLA! This shop is in a corporate strip mall sort of place… once there, I head inside and I’m greeted by a friendly old man who tells me their specials and offers me a sample. The sample chocolate is divine and I know, then and there, I’m purchasing chocolates from this place – I don’t care what they cost.
The kind man tells me Luisa is in the back dealing with a customer on the phone and will assist me in a moment. We chat about why I’m visiting. He shows me the various chocolates, the truffles, and how they have special molds to create logos and shapes.
I spot a milk chocolate butterfly… my wife loves chocolate and she loves butterflies. When Luisa arrives I tell her this – and how I’m looking for something to accompany the flowers I’ll be purchasing… and she doesn’t try to upsell me. She hears what will make me happy and she provides it, offering insight and kind words.
I end up purchasing a small box of assorted truffles and a dark chocolate butterfly. The butterfly I’d seen was milk chocolate and my wife’s more of a dark chocolate-​lovin’ kind of gal. So Luisa said she’d make one just for her. And she would even wrap it up with a Happy Anniversary ribbon and attach the butterfly to the outside of the box of truffles.
I came back a few days later – and she showed me the box and I was thrilled. It was adorable, expertly wrapped and packaged, and she was friendly and even threw in a few more sample pieces for good measure.
If you’re looking for specialty chocolates in Orange County, Luisa’s is the place to go, hands down. I will definitely be back!
