Harmony Heals

After over two decades in recovery, I found that the twelve step program that I was practicing voraciously was not enough to heal from my childhood trauma. Upon a friend’s recommendation, I reached out to Harmony Heals. When I walked into the door of the tranquil setting in the Harmony Heals office building, I felt at ease immediately. Farid, the co-​owner, met me at the door and ushered me into his office to discuss about my needs. In his office, I comfortable enough to break down and cry while explaining to him the emotional and physical toll my trauma had taken on me. I knew immediately after that talk that Harmony would be able to help me. I asked him to find me a female, older than myself, who would work with my insurance. Farid referred me to a wonderful therapist who more than fulfilled my needs. She explained my trauma to me in a way that I never understood and administered a therapy called EMDR. Since that point in time, my marriage, my friendships, and my work life have improved dramatically. I absolutely recommend Harmony Heals for therapeutic treatment to anyone dealing with trauma. I truly believe that they have saved my life.

I would like to start off by simply stating that, first and foremost I am grateful for Harmony Heals IOP. This has not been my first experience getting sober, nor is it my first time in an IOP program. That being said, Harmony Heals really is quite a different experience, and I will explain how so that you know that I am a real person with real experience with treatment. Every other program I have attended has been based on the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction. As does Harmony Heals, in its own unique and innovative way. Other facilities base their treatment approach to take addiction head on. Treating the addiction, its symptoms, repercussions and the chemicals themselves. Harmony Heals looks into the direct root of the problem from which all self-​destructive and addictive behaviors arise. Trauma therapy, Inner-​Child work, Process Therapy. How we can learn to face our past traumas and learn to live with them rather than suppressing them. Then learning how to implement them into our personal program, either 12 step or otherwise. The biggest difference to me is the emotional intimacy at Harmony. Small groups of addicts and alcohols who can relate to each other and all have the time to get very vulnerable and real in group together about their experiences, and really dive deep into the root of what truly troubles us. We also receive a 1 on 1 therapy session with two different therapists twice per week, which has also allowed me to look deep into what issues I was never willing to address, and subsequently would lead to me not staying sober. Time and time again. I would have to say this program is very different, and though it isn’t easy, it has been my favorite IOP program and I am very grateful.

Worst place ever. The «manager» aka husband is a sales man who parasites off of people’s pain under the guise of his wife’s «amazing» skills. This is a FOR PROFIT business. Not to mention the creeper gaze he was giving my wife during our first meeting. What a douche bag! That made things worse for my wife, and he had done it again after my wife had finished her first therapy session. Needless to say we never went back. The guys a predator.

This is by far the worst counseling center I have ever had the displeasure to do business with and I would give this place zero stars if I could. Avoid this place like the plague — there are countless other centers out there run by compassionate, psychologically stable people who actually care for their clients, see them as more than walking dollar signs, and do not take advantage of people who come to them seeking help with their pain. This place isn’t just a bad business, it is DANGEROUS to anyone seeking help to save their lives.
I came to Harmony Heals because they, at the time I was there, had a therapist who specialized in EMDR and trauma therapy. She, as an individual was (and still is) absolutely amazing and I would recommend anyone with deep trauma issues to visit her private practice. However, after a string of personal setbacks, I decided that I needed more help and Farid, being the businessman that he is, insisted on setting me up with a «program» (of his design, of course) that included thousands of dollars worth of pre-​paid appointments with other therapists and a $ 1000/​month monitor to check in with daily (a woman who I was horrified to learn was unlicensed, had no professional training, and was still deep in her own addiction). I did not have insurance and was barely making enough money to pay for my primary therapist at the time (I was quickly going into debt, but had no other option because I truly needed help to save my life) and I expressed this to him. I also expressed that these new therapists (who, despite my misgivings, I saw for a few sessions) were not a good fit for me and seeing them was actually making my anxiety worse and depression worse. He accused me of «trying to run my own program» and told me that my decisions were what got me into the dark place I was currently in. He insisted that I stick with the program that the had set up for me (and, to add insult to injury, tried to sell me on the several-​thousand-​dollar-​a-​month recovery house which, when I visited it, was horrified to learn that it was just a filthy place that lacked adequate supervision of several very sick and unstable clients who, for the sake of their own safety and safety of the other clients, should have been placed in a higher level of care).
Eventually, my condition deteriorated to the point where I was unable to work. When I was abruptly let go from my job, I immediately called Harmony Heals to let them know that I could no longer afford and needed to cancel the extra therapist appointments and the monitoring service. To my shock, I was informed that since I had already been charged for the month (which was only two days prior to my phone call), I would not be able to get a refund. I begged for him to be understanding because the monitoring service alone was over a thousand dollars I didn’t have. He refused to budge. When I told him that I wouldn’t be returning because I felt like trust had been broken, he said that it was my own fault and just another example of my poor decision-​making. My family called to try and reason with him and were met with the same refusal. He eventually stopped returning phone calls. Attempts to reach Gina Tabrizy, the clinical director of the program, turned out just the same. She chose to stand behind her husband rather than stick up for her clients.
To make a long story short, I tried to execute a chargeback via my credit card company but Farid responded like the unhealthy, dishonest man that he is. He lied to the credit card companies about me having «already received services» and about the money being non-​refundable, so there was nothing they could do. When I tried to report Harmony Heals to the Better Business Bureau, things progressed in a similar fashion. Farid lied. I wrote a rebuttal. Farid lied again and, ultimately, there was nothing the Better Business Bureau could legally do. I couldn’t believe the injustice of the situation and, moreover, the fact that it was coming from someone I had reached out to for help… A business that was supposed to have my best interests at heart. I lost an incredible amount of faith in the recovery field and, more importantly, in my ability to ever get better. Although things are much better now (I have since gotten help with a private therapist and am continuing to make progress), my experience with Farid took me, in my already fragile state, to a very dark place that took an incredible amount of work to emerge from. I still harbor trust issues regarding treatment facilities, which is more damaging to my mental health than I could ever explain in words. I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy — please don’t let this happen to you.

Hands down best treatment center in Orange County. Harmony changed my life. The reason is because unlike other traditional treatments harmony is passionate about what they do. They have compassion & wisdom while providing guidance & support. Harmony is the best thing that ever happened to me.

I new right off the bat. This was a place for me. I was in search of an IOP program. I did a little research and visited first. Farid (co-​founder) was the first face I saw. I immediately was able to open up. They put together a program designed just for me. Financially as well as therapeutic wise. All my sessions are one on one. So I’m able to speak of anything without fear of judgement. Just me and another who is focused, extremely skilled, and dedicated on guiding me through this transition to a new life. They make it clear I’m important. My therapists meet and work together to fine tune it. I feel like family here. I have been here for about a month and growing in a way I did not imagine. I definitely recommend this to anybody who wants what I am experiencing.

Harmony Heals is a wonderful counseling center. All the staff are knowledgable and willing to help. They are well versed in various areas of mental health and continue to seek out new information and treatment options. It is a very warm welcoming place the minute you walk in the door. The staff are all very loving and willing to work with the clients at their comfort level. I saw various therapists and staff members there for four years and it truly changed my life. They provided me with all the help and support I needed to work through my issues. I highly recommend Harmony Heals to anyone in need of therapy or just someone to talk to.

My sister and I sent my niece to harmony heals, I was very concerned about her behavior. She was out of control. Thank god we made it to harmony heals, when we walked in you could feel the love. I was still reluctant since my niece had been to many «treatment centers» in the past and had no headway. That was 3 years ago and I am happy to say my niece is better than she has ever been. If you are having a hard time or if someone you love is having a hard time get to harmony heals ASAP.
