Honest and decent price. I took my husband’s truck in for a brake inspection, just knowing we needed new brakes. Last time they were inspected (somewhere else) we were told we could squeeze a little more out of them but would definitely need new brakes next time, including turning the rotors. Cindy asked me why I thought we needed new brakes and I told her. They could have easily charged us for new brakes but to my surprise, I got a call and she said, our brakes were fine at 7 mm and should be replaced at 2 mm. They also didn’t charge us the fee to chisel off the locks from our wheels. (Our key for the locks was stolen when someone broke into our truck.) Plus gave us a10% discount on our total bill for a «new customer» discount. Very fair prices.

I needed to get my truck ready for a two-​week adventure in Baja. I told Gary to look at the truck thoroughly because I was going to be traveling solo in the middle-​of-​nowhere deep, remote Baja. I basically gave him a blank check and completely trusted him. He looked it over and said I only needed an oil change and a brake job (both of which I already knew I needed).
Gary is very nice and professional. You can tell when talking with him that he is honest and trustworthy. It’s really nice to have a mechanic you can trust. Now if I could only find a trustworthy dentist!!!

Every 5 Star review you have read below is absolutely true. If you are like me and do a lot of research before giving your business to anyone then you can stop right now. You will not find a better, more honest mechanic than Gary. I started going to Cabot about 3 years ago and have since referred all of my friends and family to them and they all say the same thing «They are best» They will tell you what is necessary and what can wait, there is no hard selling and they will always look for the most cost effective way to fix the issue and will do it right every time. Their customer service is beyond excellent, I once had a blinker light go out and was close by the shop so i thought I would stop in to see if they had time to fix it. I could tell they were busy so I thought I would just come back another day. As I drove by the service bays Gary saw my truck and waved at me, he came out of the bay to see what was wrong. I told him about the blinker and said I would come back as I knew they were busy. Gary smiled at me, told me to pop the hood and after about 3 minutes he had replaced the light. When I started to open my door to go inside to pay for the light he told me not to worry about it, he said we could settle up the next time I came in. Try doing that at Jiffy Lube.

Since my first time to Cabot Auto, I have been back twice and would give them 10 stars every time if I could.
First, my clutch burnt out leaving me stranded at midnight after work. I had it towed and used their overnight drop. I left my key with a note about the problem and got a call back first thing in the morning. They had it back to me the next day running smoother than ever and ended up under their original estimate.
A couple of days ago, my brake line ruptured suddenly and I barely got it there before they were closed for the day-​and I mean by barely 2 minutes. I didn’t have to worry about feeling rushed because they are SO nice. They really took the time to listen to my concerns and small talk a bit while they have it a quick once over before I left.
I knew it was tight scheduling, but I asked if it was possible to have it done the next day because my work schedule stars at 4:30am and I didn’t want to inconvenience my fiancé by getting dropped off more than was necessary. They made it happen without even a question or an ounce of hesitation.
I simply will not take my car anywhere else. Period.

Gary and Tina are both amazing, honest people. Gary is very skilled, knowledgeable, and professional. I have complete trust in them and take all of our cars here. I would highly recommend them to anybody.

Friendliest, most helpful auto repair shop I’ve been to. I can say only good things about the owner and his wife, they were so accommodating I would recommend this place to anyone.

By far the best place to have your car repaired. I was sick and tired of being taken Advantage of by the RSM Ford Dealership, it seems like every other month the same issue would happen but it was a «different problem»… right… I was exhausted and broke so I searched all over Unilocal.Then I found Cabot Auto Services… I gave them a call and took my car down the next day. It’s a family owned business and they are SO kind! They take you back and show you EXACTLY what the problem is and how they plan on fixing it. I had just lost my job and completely desperate. They worked with me and fixed my car. It was such a great experience that my mom now goes there. I’ve been a loyal customer for over a year now. If you’re looking for a good place where they won’t jack up prices, give you straight and honest answers, AND support local family owned companies… then look no further. You wont make a mistake by giving Cabot Auto Services a shot. They are truly wonderful.

Gary and Tina have been servicing my car for a little over three years. I take my car there because of the great service I get as a customer, not only that my car is in great condition and hands due to Gary taking care of my car. I trust them as I trust my brother for car advice and will probably be going there long term, the only reason I wouldn’t is if I move far away. Thanks for the amazing service and local friendship you have provided!

I have been going to Gary and Tina for almost two years and can say that it is such a relief to have a reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy shop for my car. I wouldn’t even consider taking my car anywhere else. They are a family owed place that will bend over backwards for their customers, and give you the time to educate and inform you about your vehicle.

What can i say other then WOW. Gary and Tina have created a business environment like no other. If you are looking for an honest business in every sense, you have to go to Cabot Auto. I always had different cars and i had my share of bad mechanics and overselling tactics, i was shocked when i found this place, i feel so safe with Gary’s advice. Many times i have come and he told me the car is perfect and needs nothing (I never heard this from a mechanic in my life). Tina treats the customers like friends. I would advice everyone to come to this shop if your looking for the best service from small oil changes to major work.

I am very picky about mechanics, I don’t know a lot about cars but I do know about having a good mechanic. I had the same mechanic since I started driving and my mom used the same mechanic for over 30 years. So when I moved from Azusa to Mission Viejo, finding a good mechanic was on the top of my list. I tried a couple before I came to Cabot Auto Services and found my new mechanic. Gary & his staff are honest, helpful and great people. They don’t try to rip you off with prices or things you don’t need.
Is it crowded, yes but that’s because they are so good and trustworthy here. It’s worth the wait. I usually try and call ahead and see what day would be good to bring it in and then leave my car or my husband’s car there for the day so when they can get to it, they get to it. I rather do that and know that the mechanic working on my car is reliable and knowledgeable then go to a empty place where my car will be done quicker.

Finding a good mechanic can be a scary task – especially if you’re like me and know absolutely nothing about cars. It’s almost as bad as going to the dentist… you just NEVER know when you’re being taken advantage of… not here.
Gary and Tina are wonderful – along with the rest of the staff (very helpful and friendly). I’ve been here a couple times and have never felt more comfortable when dealing with «car things». They are hard workers and do a great job of turning a not-​so-​enjoyable process into a better one.
You won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been meaning to sit down and write this review for ages. Gary and Tina run an outstanding business. I’ve had three different cars there for repairs and i couldn’t be happier with the service and repair work. I really appreciate that Gary and his great crew of mechanics always go over my car each time I come in to see my car’s overall condition. I’m informed of parts that are starting to show wear and given estimates of the remaining life, but I’ve never felt pressured to get work done unless it’s absolutely necessary. Their prices have been fair on the work I’ve had done. Both Tina and Gary are very down to earth, honest and hard working folks.

There is barely any parking spaces & I almost got hit by two cars in their tiny driveway area (one being their tow truck guy) he saw me pulling into a space and took the spot for himself.
The office was packed. although there were only 3 people waiting for one person to get off the phone. It was chaos & I was only there for ten minutes. I stood there and waited to speak to the assistant but the line was so stagnant that I left. I was not greeted or simply smiled at. I don’t see how this place has 5 stars.

Gary (and his wife Tina) are GREAT — very nice, very thorough, and HONEST. Price is fair, service is great, and I will be coming here for all of my service needs in the future.
I took my SUV in last week thinking I needed wheel bearings — Gary test-​drove it, put it up on the lift, and described in detail what I needed (new suspension).
This is a family-​run, LOCAL business that cares about their customers.

Again needed help… endless car probs. Tina drove me to work, picked me up, and at a time that works for me. Gary fixed the car quickly. Wonderful prices, the part was expensive, and they gave me a discount. The second time I needed help, Gary fixed it for free. I send my kids here with their old cars, as I know they will be honest.
Can’t recommend them enough… a car place you can trust completely!

Every time I come here (three times so far) it’s always an amazing experience. Very professional and extremely honest. There’s not too many places like that. Gary and his wife, are personable and take the time to interact with you which is nice. They remembered me from months and months ago, when I had to bring my husbands truck to get some things replaced.
They’re honest about the work that needs to be done on your vehicle with great pricing. I’ve gotten price quotes from other places that would’ve charged me more than the pricing here at Cabot Auto.
Employees are quick — always great. Other places I’ve went to, most employees just stand around talking to one another while you’re waiting for your vehicle to be finished.
I don’t live around here, but still work in the area so I will definitely continue to bring my vehicles here regardless of now living in Murrieta. Cabot Auto Services has great ratings and reviews and it’s a no-​brainier as to why!

I am very impressed with this place. I’ll try to keep it concise. Gary and Tina are the real deal. I am always very skeptical about these places. Even people I know have burned me. That being said, I was really comfortable from the start. Very kind Husband and Wife team. Gary, the master Tech/​Owner is a down to earth, no BS type. He doesn’t try to sell you a new car when all you need is a brake pad. Tina his wife is super cool and so helpful. Picked me up at home when my car was done. She didn’t have to do any of that.
So, not only did Gary completely fix my car, he did something no one else has ever done for me, and I didn’t even ask. This is one of the many things they do which gained my confidence. So here it is. Gary could have just fixed and replaced parts (or say he did) but he brought me into the back and showed me the old parts that were on my car (worn and just crap). He showed me what was wrong and why this makes for potential issues. Then he showed me the new parts next to the old parts and explained the difference. Once I understood, then he let me go. He wanted me to understand what the issue is and know what and why it became an issue. tHAT WAS SOMETHING NO ONE HAS EVER DONE FOR ME IN THE 17 YEARS I HAVE BEEN DRIVING. I was so impressed. He did not have to do that. Any questions I had he answered them. I trusted them so much at one point I told them to go ahead and fix and change anything they think may not need to be done right this moment, but will need to be done shortly. Some of the stuff I told them to please go ahead and do even though they said it wasn’t necessary at this very moment. Its ok. I did it knowing in a few thousand miles it would need to be done. Most other places would say you need and must have it done right this second or the apocalypse will arrive. I can read people and they are good people. So, I had stuff replaced and fixed and I even had them do more. Such awesome people. I can’t think of anything which was not handled to perfection and without rigorous honesty. Such a joy it was to do business with them.
One thing that really stood out to me after telling him all the crap I have been through when it comes to auto mechanics. Gary told me he does not get into the negative talking of other shops. It not what he does. He focuses on his customers and thats it.
He told me one thing however. He said what he does is makes sure the problem with the car is fixed. I said duh!!! lol. But he elaborated even more. He said what he does is fix the cars. He doesn’t just replace the part (s). He replaces the part if it absolutely needs it and can’t be machined to perfection. Most shops will replace the parts which are used up or just finished, however he fixes the underlying problems if there was any problem which lead to the demise of that part. That is another thing that separates his operation from others. GARY FIXES THE PROBLEMS. HE DOESNT JUST THROW PARTS AT IT. HE CAN FIX PARTS AS WELL TO HELP US SAVE MONEY. HE IS NOT LAZY. HE EXPLAINS HOW THE PARTS CAN BE FIXED TO FACTORY NEW LIKE. I am really really impressed with this place.
At first I read the reviews the see if this was a place for me. When I saw so many good reviews I was a bit skeptical. Places with many good reviews and not really any constructive feedback kind of scares me. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been to a restaurant and heard the employees say,” if you write a good review on Unilocal,we will give you a free THIS or THAT on your next visit. That amounts to BS reviews. People are struggling financially, so they will write a good review to receive the fruits of the 5 minutes spent writing a review.
SO I essentially interviewed Gary and Tina and did not (in one bit) rely on the reviews. As a matter of fact, I disregarded the reviews because of the reason I stated above. They did not disappoint at all. I was taken aback by the whole situation. I have had 2 cars done there now. Had second one done a little sooner than I wanted, but it was also a way to verify this just wasn’t a first time customer kindness type thing. A sales technique to get you to come back. It was all legit as can be and I promise you, you will love these two. There was another guy working there who was super cool as well. Smiling, always saying hello. BUT IT WAS REAL. You can tell Gary and Tina treat the highly trained mechanics they have working for them in a glorious fashion. The other employees love to work there. That is very obvious to me. Gosh, I could keep writing and writing about these guys. I know this is a bit much, however I am not going to let these guys get away. I never thought i would be saying this about an auto mechanic. All these reviews are as legit as can be. They are not full of it as I suspected and hoped. Hoped because I like to be right. I was so wrong (finally) LOLOL. Do yourself and your car the biggest favor ever. Take your car to CABOT AUTO SERVICES. Don’t take my word for it. Proudly, Nikk A.

I can understand now why this place has nothing but 5 star reviews! All I needed was a tail & license plate light replaced and a front license plate installed; no appointment. Was in around 8:15 and was out by 9:00! Better yet, I was only charged for the parts. Talk about an honest mechanic! I couldn’t wait to come home and write a review!
Gary is super-​nice, and I can’t imagine going anywhere else from now on.

Rarely do I write reviews, but I felt compelled after doing some car maintenance at Cabot.
Wonderful wonderful honest people run this place. Went for a standard oil change; the guy helping me out did all the maintenance checks, pointing out certain things that might need some work after a certain number of estimated miles. He was pretty honest in saying I had a problem with an axle, but wouldn’t need to do anything for maybe another 3,000 miles or so — and he knew I wasn’t from around the place since I had told him I drove cross-​country there. He even told me how to change my own air filter on my own without paying any more money for future maintenance!
