The Lobby Lounge

Rather than restate all the positive feedback The Lobby Lounge has earned, I want to add that my husband and I love to drop in for a glass of wine and a few enjoyable hours listening to David Allen Baker. David has a wonderful voice with an incredible range of music. The ambiance is classy yet cozy. David remembers names and faces, and his warm welcoming personality makes you feel like you are at your own private concert.

This is our favorite spot in Laguna Beach and for good reason. Mr. David Allan Baker is an amazing entertainer and provides the «icing on the cake» for the ambiance and service at the lobby lounge. Ashley is our usual late night server and provides excellent and personable service every time. Being the only server on busy nights, it is amazing to see her level of professionalism and superb quality of service when other servers would be overwhelmed. I wish we could spend every night here to wind down after a hectic day but, for now, once a week visits will suffice.

The Lobby Lounge at the Montage Hotel and Resort is a perfect spot to take in stunning views of the Pacific Ocean while enjoying relaxing live piano music and taking in the ocean breeze. There is plenty of seating inside the hotel Lobby Lounge complete with large glass windows providing beautiful views of the ocean. Lounge style sofa and table seating is also available out on the balcony. Service is fantastic and pricing is somewhat steep for this drink and cigar only menu but is to be expected for a venue like this. After a walk on the beach we headed up to the Lobby Lounge and enjoyed a pot of tea $ 11 pp and a bottle of Pellegrino $ 5. Complimentary snacks were offered to us and consisted of chocolate dipped gingerbread biscotti bites and an ever so slightly spiced cashew, almond and pistachio nut mix which was a nice touch. A visit here is a great way to relax and take in the ocean breeze, catch up with a friend or loved one and people watching is inevitable and entertaining in itself. If you valet your car, you will receive a validation that will end up costing $ 11 to park. Limited parking is also available metered on PCH. If you have never visited the Montage it is worth a visit, the grounds are immaculate and the beach setting is gorgeous!

What an amazing place to have a cup of great coffee, iced tea, or cocktail. The best views, energy, and service! High end prices… but worth every penny. We have been here many times and had great service but today takes the cake. Bria took such great care of us, went above and beyond to make us comfortable, and even brought us out a recipe of their complimentary bar nuts which are to die!!! Thanks Bria!

Great service, reasonable prices, unbelievable views. Non-​pretentious but upscale setting with great drinks and amazing piano entertainment 7 nights a week! Love it here for relaxing and unwinding.

The lounge at the Montage is fantastic for so many reasons:
The view: Day or night, you are getting a phenomenal look at the endless, pensive Pacific.
The pianist: The pianist here knows how to set the mood-​Jazzy, sexy, calm.
The beverage list: How baller are you feeling? Here on a date and ready to enjoy their extensive wine list? Or here with girlfriends, feelin’ snazzy, looking to munch on their tasty (free!) biscottis with a cup of hot chocolate?
The staff: I’ve never been less than impressed with the kind, non-​pushy demeanor of the Montage staff. Thank you for checking up on us without making us feel like you want us to spend excessive amounts of money.
I enjoy coming here to catch up with friends, to enjoy the drunk-​rich-​people-​on-​vacation people watching, or have a deep, meaningful conversation with someone special :)

I absolutely LOVE this place! It is Heaven on earth — gorgeous views of the ocean, comfy seating, a snuggly fireplace, and an amazing pianist :) It’s the perfect place to go after a long week just to unwind with your honey or a group of friends. The atmosphere is very chill and I never feel pressured to keep ordering drinks if we want to just lounge and nurse one cocktail for a while!

I love the atmosphere here. There’s a piano that in the evenings a guy is playing at. Sometimes singing. There are seating area’s right near him or there are nooks to sit and talk privately across the room while he plays in the distant back ground. Best thing is to come for the sunset, have a drink while you enjoy it. Get dinner at one of the delish restaurants and then come back for a last drink and listen to the piano before going home. Don’t be surprised if you and others around you feel the sudden urge to join in and sing Elton John’s Piano Man cause he’s got you feeling alright.

This place is a good place to impress a date, friends or family. It is a classy establishment. I have been here a few times. Usually the service is top notch. On the last visit the bar tenders were distracted by some of their friends, but everyone else was on top of their game. They have a great selection of liquor and wine. It costs a little more, but it is a good place for after dinner drinks. The views of the ocean are excellent, even in the evening.

The Lobby Lounge at the Montage is hands down pure class… oozing the same gorgeous crafstman-​style décor as the rest of the beach side resort, style and a flair for luxury take a front seat in these drawing room digs. Find yourself with glass of wine in hand, settled in a cozy corner near the piano or out on the balcony overlooking the mosaic tiled pool and sprawling sea and quickly realize how absolutely ideal this respite is any night of the week.
Top notch service from thoroughly professional staff ensure you have every whim satisfied. Looking for a rare scotch or whiskey? They’ll find it. Want to orchestrate a bombshell of a birthday toast? They guarantee to make it special. Love St. Germain but not their specialty cocktail that features it? They’ll create a unique concoction sure to impress and electrify.
Just the thing to make the start — or end — of any evening special… a little nip of something wet, a quick munch on yummy snacks, an absolutely unparalleled view of scenic proportions and off you go!
