There’s nothing like a clean haircut and close shave. With more than eight years’ professional experience practicing the artistry of classic barbering, I opened my first shop in my hometown of Laguna Beach.

Going about the old-​fashioned way, I use state-​of-​the art clippers, scissors and straight razors. And the grooming products I offer are tried, tested and proven to be of the best on the market.

History

Established in 2013.

Located next to the Sweetwater Car Wash in South Laguna on PCH, this building was built in the late 1920s and operated as a hotel. Since then, it has held many different types of businesses. This is the first location of The Den Barber Shop & Shave Parlor.

My wife Katie and I opened doors for business on July 16, 2013. I am the head barber, while Katie helps run the business. We offer art on consignment and look forward to eventually expanding the loft up stairs into a gentleman’s den for private parties.

I have been a licensed barber for about eight years now.

I’ve always enjoyed cutting my friends hair throughout my teens and early twenties. By 2006, I decided to make the trade my profession. I apprenticed for two years under a very well-​known and respected barber in Orange County named Al Oliman, who also owns The Senior Barber in San Clemente and San Juan. I helped Al open the San Juan shop, while managing both of his shops. From this experience, I decided to further my career in barbering by opening the Den in 2013. It has been an incredible experience.
