Salon A2

So rude from the moment i walked in the door. I walked out crying I was so disappointed. As a side note, her restroom was not as clean as I would expect which makes me question her cleanliness in other areas of the business that we as clients aren’t privy to. Find a different salon!!!

This is only the second Unilocal review that I have taken the time to write, mostly because nothing warranted a review… until now. Truly amazing… somehow Mai has managed to do what no other hairdresser has been able to do before her… make me love my hair again. Not only is she truly talented, but she is a one-​of-​a-​kind person (beautiful inside and out)…and this was my first time meeting her. I was even more amazed at the fact that she has no idea what people are saying about her since she doesn’t have access to the internet. I thought it impossible or fake that one person could get 5 out of 5 stars from every reviewer. After having her do my hair and meeting her… now I know it’s true!

Mai is the best! She fits me into her busy schedule when I call for an appointment without much notice. She gives excellent haircuts, and she approaches cutting hair like an art form (very meticulous and detailed). She also is a great people person and has a great sense of humor, so she has many loyal customers who have been going to her for years because she is so kind. If you go to Mai, you will keep coming back!

I am particular about my hair cuts, I like ‘perfect’! My hair dresser retired & in my search for a new Hair Stylist I had bad experiences with bad HCs. I searched the web & found Mai, the perfect match for my perfect hair:):) She provides superb customer care, takes her times, has an easy going personality & I HIGHLY recommend Mai at Salon A2 for a tremendous HC.

I’m very pleased with my new look. I felt comfortable and by the time I left I was ready for a nap I’ll definitely be back for hair and nails. Mai is very friendly, and has a true talent. Thank you!

Mai did my up-​do for a wedding at the Montage. It was absolutely gorgeous & compared to other salons in the area, very reasonably priced! I would highly recommend :)

Mai is fabulous! After a series of bad hair cuts that left my hair with no style — i was really hoping to get a hair cut I was happy with! Amazing– I LOVE my new cut! I am so happy to have found her! She also took the time to fit in my daughter during my color — what wonderful service. Mai is a true artist and offers a warm, comfortable environment!

Mai is a real artist!, patient and always cheerful.
She takes her time to understand the way you want your hair cut/​color to be.
The salon and brushes are super clean and well lit.

Mai is amazing. She did the hair for a model on a photoshoot i had recently and i couldnt be more happy with the results, just what was needed. And so friendly.

Mai is great! She is the sweetest lady and never rushes a hair cut. She in fact takes her time and does all these under cuts, twists little strains of hair and then feather cuts it. I’ve never seen it done before, but it works wonders on my hair. I’m so glad I found her!

Mai has been doing my hair for years, and is the ONLY one who does exactly as I ask. I am Asian, and usually request blond highlights. Every other salon has always turned my hair orange… but NOT Mai. She is excellent with coloring and highllights, and always does a wonderful job on my hair.

Mai is a true GEM!!! She is an artistic genius when it comes to hair!!! I was so nervous finding someone new and thank goodness I found Mai. She made my dry damaged hair look amazing, she has a special way of cutting hair to make dead hair look healthy again!!! On my wedding day, she made my hair look like a movie star!!! I felt like a million bucks, the hair color was the perfect blond!!! Mai also took the time to style my hair perfectly and didn’t charge me extra for taking the special time to make sure my hair was perfect. I am very picky when it comes to my blond hair, and Mai got it right the first time!!! She is a great stylist and I am so glad I found someone like Mai I can trust someone again with my hair!!!

Ok I was one of those people who went to the same stylist for 16 years. I was reluctant to change when I moved to the OC. I was worried I would have to go through a series of bad haircuts until I found the right stylist. I chose Salon A2 because of the great reviews. It turned out that those reviews were about the previous owners. Mai Nguyen had just opened the salon by herself when I first came in. This was several haircuts ago and I keep coming back. Not only is she a lovely person and generally full of positive energy and warmth, but she is also an excellent stylist. My hair is thin and I hadn’t grown it out in years because it tends to look worse as it gets longer. Mai has managed to cut it in a way that looks thicker and stylish as it grows. My hair looks better and better all the time as it is growing. Mai knows what she is doing! A word of warning, however; Mai is a perfectionist who takes her time to make your hair look right. She will cut and style and cut and style until it’s right. Do not come here if you are in a rush! Just come when you have time to enjoy the experience and get a good cut.

MAI IS WONDERFUL!!! I am VERY picky about who does my hair. She will make your hair look amazing, and while you are there you can look out to the ocean while relaxing in the massage chair. She is very reasonably priced for the area and also specializes in Brazilian Blowouts, nails, massages, waxing and more! Great atmosphere, great price, GREAT STYLIST!!!

I went once when Jeremy was there but he has left. He gave a good cut but it was slightly too short. I just tried Mai and she cut exactly how much I wanted off and styled it well as well.

Jeremy Tuomala, my hairdresser, is no longer at Salon A2, but when Jeremy was there, it was awesome!

Jeremy Tuomala is a superb stylist at Salon A2. I had hair loss due to stress and he was able to cut and style my hair so it looked full again rather than very thin and frail.
Also, he gave my daughter a Brazilian hair smoothing treatment and she loved it. Her hair is no longer frizzy and out of control. I definitely recommend Jeremy for anyone’s hair!

I just moved to OC 4 months ago. I always went to the same salon on the East Coast. I never really thought that much about my hair, except I liked it very short. After arriving in South Laguna Beach, I discovered Salon A2 since it is right around the corner of my house. I went in looking for a basic haircut. Jeremy greeted me and gave me the best haircut I have ever received! Now I go back to him all the time because now I love my hair, and I love the way it makes me look. Plus, the products they use are awesome, and Jeremy made me feel relaxed and unhurried. I would recommend him to anyone living in, or visiting Laguna Beach!

i’m picky with my hair. i mean, REALLY picky. i’ve had my share of traumatic haircut experiences, which led to some trust issues with hair stylists. well, i’ve finally found a place where i can go without any worries and a hairdresser who i trust completely. his name is jeremy and he is absolutely amazing! i pretty much tell him, «my hair is your canvas, do your thing!» and he never disappoints. i’m really particular with my bangs and he cuts them perfectly each time.
besides the wonderful jeremy, i love the ambiance of the salon and the people who work there. the people are friendly and you can tell that they love their jobs. you can see it by the great work they do on their clients.
because of my awesome experience here, i tell everyone i know to go to salon a2. trust me, you won’t regret it. :]

Never had better conversation at a hair salon! The people here are genuine, loving folks who really care.
My hair cut was great. Been back a couple times now, Jeremy always remembers who I am and how I like things styled.
