Gecko Cookies is a small old fashioned bakery located in Laguna Canyon. We specialize in fresh baked home style cookies and hand-​dipped confections. We use no preservatives or additives in our products, but lots of real butter, sugar, eggs, etc. So, if you’re looking for «fat or sugar free», we’re not the bakery for you. Known as the «Home of the Oatmeal Butterscotch Cookie» and the Big Cookie line of products you see in Gina’s Pizzaria’s, La Sirena Grills, and most Laguna Beach Coffee Shops and casual eateries. We provide fresh baked products daily… We also have a Signature gift box line with hand pressed logo shortbread cookies, Death by Chocolate Brownies, almond crunch toffee, and more. We ship nationwide. We are open to the public, and bake only to order… that’s our secret to keeping it fresh! So, give us a call or just stop by. Our ovens are on Monday thru Saturday. History

Established in 2002.

Jan, the owner, was born and raised in Nebraska, where as a little girl of 5 years old, she was learning how to bake the recipes passed down through the generations. She tells of remembering being a little girl standing on a chair in the kitchen, learning from scratch the recipes we still use today. She joined the 4H Club, a small town baking and craft group, at 6, and competed in their competition fair each summer. At 9 she sewed her own apron, and entered her first cake-​baking contest, taking home the first prize ribbon. Throughout her youth, high school, college, and nursing career, she continued her love affair with the kitchen, and in 2002 started her local baking company. Now, 9 yrs. later, Gecko Cookie Company is still located at 3295 Laguna Canyon Rd. in Laguna Beach, California. We are shipping our products nation-​wide and have the privilege of providing them to Laguna Beach’s finest shops, markets, and restaurants. We are open to the public!

Business Owner

The owner and creative baker of the Gecko Cookie Co. is Jan. Born and raised in the Mid West, she has been baking since she was a little girl. After relocating to Southern California in 1976, she continued her career as a Perinatal nurse and owner of a small consulting company which helped design and prepare women’s hospitals and pre/​postnatal care units for operation. The teams that she worked with successfully opened 13 centers in Southern California. Through all of this, baking was still her passion, and she continued her love affair with the kitchen. In 2002, with the support and encouragement of her family and friends, she opened her own bakery in Laguna Beach, still located in the same location. Gecko Cookies provides fresh baked products to local coffee shops, markets, fine eateries, and retail customers. They ship gourmet gift boxes nation wide. Jan employees a small staff that share her passion for exceptional quality food and outstanding customer service.
