I am in absolute heaven thinking about Red Pepper Deli! A local café that offers a café and catering to any red pepper deli lovers! My sexy sauce had grown up with this awesome café on the weekdays and weekends and had told me about it for years. Switching from our normal Mexican fix, Acapulco, we were ready for a change!!! The atmosphere is inviting and friendly with a café feel! The deli selection of pastas and cookies immediately caught my eye! I had walked in planning to pick a healthy option of salad while my sexy sauce planned on eating bread, soup, and pasta. Well, it’s safe to say that I jumped over to the bad side with him ;) I ordered the pimento cheese bacon sandwich and the tomato artichoke soup! It was after much deliberation due to the endless options and tasty pastas I was able to try! It’s always nice to try a sample before deciding. I tend to be extremely decisive and picky and this allows me to use the process of elimination! Sexy sauce ordered the steak sandwich with the spicy chicken Blt pasta! We received our food within minutes, so it seemed! I took one bite and was sold! The pimento cheese was warm and melting to perfection on the panini bread! It wasn’t greasy like some panini sandwiches I have had in the past! It was crispy yet gooey to bite!!! The tomato artichoke soup was phenomenal and had me wanting another cup(had I not been extremely full)!! Before we left, we had to grab a peanut butter cookie. Which, was recommended by the ever so sweet cashier that took our orders. After one bite, we agreed. It was the best peanut butter cookie we have ever out in our mouths!!! That you Red Pepper Deli for making a name for yourself not just in Oldham County but in Louisville too!!!

I had lunch here during the Ironman Louisville, Oct. 2015. The line was out to the sidewalk when I arrived, but the staff hustled to serve everyone quickly and in a friendly manner. I forget what I had: a cuban-esque sandwich and a side of macaroni salad with buffalo-ish chicken(maybe). I’m not a big fan of pasta salad, so I can only say that it is better than average pasta salad, but still not something I would get again. What can I say, I took a chance on something new. The sandwich was very good. I wish it would have been a little larger, but the flavors were great. It would be a $ 9-$ 10 sandwich in lots of suburban restaurants. The youngsters on the staff deserve special credit for working so hard while also making me feel as though I was a little special.

My girlfriend and I love this place for lunch! Every time we have the opportunity for lunch together we choose here. So many options, not a bad price! They have a bunch of different pastas to sub into your meal or purchase alacarte. Being vegetarians we haven’t had their meat dishes but my boss loves their white chicken chili. We both love the veggie wrap and the Benedictine without bacon! Wonderful staff and they keep up quickly with their lunch rush! Highly recommend the place!

Took the family for lunch. Long line to order. Three sandwiches, soup and a pasta salad. Family said the sandwiches were fresh but too spicy. Pickles snappy and sour. Tomato artichoke soup arrived hot but way too much cream which drowned out the flavors. Chicken chipotle pasta had al dente noodles but again, way too much mayo which didn’t add to the dish. Disappointed.

I don’t come to La Grange that often, but all my local friends tell me this is the best place to grab lunch. The staff were very kind and attentive and the restaurant has a very small town feel, but the dinning area is very small. The sandwich I got(Jailbreak) was good, but the slaw it came with had far to much mayo. Would definitely go back and try a different sandwich.

We stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday before the lunch rush. The place is super cozy and has a hometown feel. I ordered the tomato and artichoke soup and the pimento grilled cheese sandwich. I was not impressed with the soup. The soup seemed bland. However, the grilled pimento cheese was amazing. No seriously. You should order the grilled pimento cheese sandwich. The bread was a golden brown toasted sourdough and the pimento cheese was creamy, melty and so tasty. Everyone else seemed to enjoy what they were having(except the soup). Over all, this is a place I would go again, just make sure you go early or you will wait in line.

This place is timeless and just perfect! We stopped here while road tripping, and were so glad we did. We will probably make this a normal road stop anytime we drive through now. We had some delicious sandwich and soup action, and a cream stuffed cookie sandwich that was great. It is super cool because it is literally right next to the train tracks. I figured the tracks would not be operations, but much to our surprise the train drove just feet away from us and our car while we were eating. It was super neat, and reminded me of good old days and movies. The service was super nice, down-to-earth folks. You should definitely come here.

Abundance of choices and always fresh. Soup and side dishes change daily so you have to call to find out your options. Staff is always helpful but a bit rushed due to their short hours and high volume. Tomato and artichoke soup is a staple and a favorite of mine.

Had the 4 way sandwich. Corned beef and homemade slaw were very good. My daughter had the tomato artichoke soup and it was hearty.

This little café was actually really yummy :) I went around 2 on a weekday and they we’re slow which is nice since all of the reviews indicated it can get pretty busy around lunch time. I got the Italian sammy and sub’d potato salad for my chips. The sandwich was delicious! The bread was toasted to perfection and had really yummy fillings for a standard Italian sub. Their potato salad was really good also, the only thing I didn’t like was the celery but I over looked that because of the taste. I’ll for sure be back here next time I’m in LaGrange :)

Absolutely without a doubt the BEST sandwich shop on main street. The food is fresh and reasonably priced, the service is great. Try the pastas they are always good.

Both the LaGrange and Crestwood location are consistently good quality. Fresh ingredients and really good bread for the sandwiches. The bow tie pasta side is really good. I have tried wraps and sandwiches and never been disappointed. I recommend the Greek salad, Pesto Chicken sandwich, and Fiesta Turkey sandwich. The downside of the LaGrange location is that the chairs and tables are really crammed in because they usually need the seating. It makes it difficult to walk around when refilling drinks etc. A plus is the train which often comes right down the street right past the window. Very Mayberry!

Definitely among one of my favorite local delis I’ve ever been to. I’ve haven’t had an item on their menu so far that I didn’t like.

Decided to post an update since my recent visit. The food is still very good and they serve nice size portions but, I was disappointed in the condition of the place. We arrived about 12:30 and the floor was a mess and the tables were dirty and sticky. We got our food and ate but, nothing was cleaned the whole time we were there. That’s why I dropped my rating down. I’m not sure I want to go back very soon.

I had food from the Red Pepper at a catered lunch and it was delicious! The first thing that struck me was the smell of fresh red onions on the salad that was brought. Accompanied by blue cheese and mandarin oranges over romaine lettuce, it was a good mix of savory, crunchy, and sweet. We also enjoyed a bowtie pasta salad with a sweet Asian-tasting glaze. I had to limit myself to one serving of that one, otherwise I would have easily eaten the entire pan of it and spent the next week in a carb coma as a result. Highly recommended! The sandwich tray we had included a good variety of breads, wraps, meats, and vegeterian options with savory spreads such as spicy mustard and horseradish. The meal rounded out with some fudgy dark chocolate brownies dusted in confectioner’s sugar and was the perfect way to satisfy my sweet tooth for the afternoon. Overall, I would highly recommend the Red Pepper catering and I will look forward to going to the brick and mortar location for a meal sometime soon!
