History

Established in 2006.

As Habitat for Humanity grew throughout the US and Canada, communities everywhere were excited to help in any way they could. Many would host yard sales to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. Using this as a business model, the first US Habitat ReStore opened in 1992 in Austin, TX. Currently, there are over 700 stores nation wide where locals can donate their gently used furnishings, home décor, appliances or new or leftover building materials.

The local Habitat for Humanity based out of LaGrange GA opened it’s ReStore doors in the current location in the summer of 2009. We serve the Troup, Chambers, Randolph, Chambers, and Harris county areas. The ReStore offers a great alternative to disposing of good material in our local landfills, gives willing volunteers a place to give back and feel needed, and gives our shoppers a great place to find deals on perfectly good stuff!
