Tracy doesn’t just move from job to job, he builds a relationship with his clients which is rare among contractors. Yesterday, we had a break-​in at our house & needed a basement door replaced A.S.A.P. I called numerous handy-​man services to get the door replaced, but they were either too busy or didn’t return my calls. I was desperate when I texted Tracy, who had done a major remodel on our house last year, to see if any of his guys could replace the door for us. Tracy immediately texted back, asked if we were o.k. & had one of his wonderful guys replace our door the same day. We are extremely grateful for Tracy’s help and his continued friendship.

I’ve worked with Tracy as a supplier for his projects. He is our go to for referrals and has not let one of the clients we have sent his way down. I highly recommend him.

Tracy and his team recently installed a set of La Cantina doors at our home and they came out beautifully. His price was very competitive and the quality of his work is terrific.
Everyone on the team is terrific. Jesus acted as foreman and he was fantastic — managing demo, framing, installation, drywall, stucco, and electrical seamlessly. He took my calls, even when I called him in the middle of the night freaking out. Manny and Beto were great, always showing up on time and working extremely hard (even in scorching heat).
For his part, Tracy is patient, smart, creative, and thoughtful. He remembers the smallest details, while keeping the big picture in mind at all times. He is the only contractor I know who can take all the information at his disposal and instantly make the RIGHT call. Not a guess, not a question, he will give you the answer that you’ve been searching for, but just couldn’t figure out.
One final comment. IMHO, the true measure of a contractor is how they manage follow-​up/​customer service issues when things don’t go exactly as planned. In our case there was a issue with our drywall and Tracy and Jesus jumped on it immediately. They had the drywall guy back at our house in less than 24 hours and by the time he finished it was perfect. That is fantastic customer service.

Tracy’s team did an awesome job. I was 7 months pregnant when we started renovations on our new condo, so they had to deal with a short time frame. They worked really well with a strict HOA & finished the project within the time they said they would. We worked a lot with Gustavo who was very nice, patient & has a great eye for detail. Anytime we emailed or called Tracy with questions, he responded in a timely manner. Tracy also worked well with our budget in helping us prioritize projects. These guys really know their stuff & our place turned out better than we imagined.

Tracy and his team just finished remodeling my house in Moraga (passed final inspection yesterday!). They did a beautiful job and everyone was professional and pleasant to work with. Alfonso, the field supervisor, did the day-​to-​day management and was most experienced and quick with problem solving. All the subs are great, too! For example, Beto, the electrician was not only skillful but also patient. He and his crew did a wonderful job with a very extensive and complicated lighting plan. They also upgraded the electrical panel and tolerated quite well the painful process with PGE. Tracy himself is very easy to work with — resourceful, responsive, and smart! My husband and I are experienced in home remodeling (this is the 4^th one in the past 10 years). We highly recommend and would definitely work with Tracy again.

I have been working with Tracy for some time now and I not only have found him to be and excellent contractor but also a very easy to work with! Tracy and his staff are extremely professional always keeping the best interest of the homeowner the number one priority! If you have s large construction job and you want it done rite Tracy is the man!!’ You won’t be disappointed.

We’ve just completed our first large scale renovation in Upper Rockridge and we couldn’t be more thankful of going with Tracy and his fantastic team. We spent a lot of time interviewing architects and construction companies and always felt slightly uneasy about designing a vision with an architect that couldn’t be completed on budget with a construction firm when designs were handed off. From our first meeting Tracy jumped in with sketching and envisioning what the space could be, all the while keeping a «value engineering» perspective, maximizing the bang for the buck when it came to construction. The design process was super collaborative and he really listened to the things that were important to us and how we wanted to use the space.
He completely understood our aesthetic and was able to take our 1926 home to something a young growing family can truly live in. His eye for detail is something I really look for (being somewhat anally retentive myself) and he never disappointed when it came to the quality of workmanship. Every piece of the construction, even the stuff you don’t see, was meticulously finished by his fantastic team.
Being our first big renovation, Tracy patiently walked us through every aspect of the process and we felt extremely confident when entering into a contract with him exactly what we were getting and what to expect. From discussion with friends, its almost unheard of to have a project of this nature completed without huge «gotchas» and I can happily report there were none. We did end up slightly over budget, but for purely selfish reasons (upgrading the patio, adding landscaping etc).
I couldn’t recommend him more and would happily use him again when we’re ready for the next stage. Thanks for everything Tracy, Alfonso, Gustavo, Javier and Jesus!

Tracy came highly recommended by my neighbors for whom he had recently remodeled their kitchen. Given their high praise of his work, and the quality of their kitchen (my project was a kitchen remodel as well), it came as no surprise that working with Tracy and his crew was a seamless and stress-​free process. Given the abundance of horror stories I hear from others with less than positive experiences with their contractors, I wanted to chime in with others here and recommend Tracy. He was always responsive, easily reached and, most importantly, followed through with everything we discussed. His workmen were friendly, conscientious and skilled and they actually finished everything a couple of weeks sooner than anticipated. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Tracy came highly recommended to us, so much so that we did not speak to another contractor when we began the process of having our bathrooms renovated. Tracy brings a wealth of experience and realized our vision with very little direction. He asked specific questions when necessary and checked-​in periodically but everything was so well organized that the entire renovation ran very smoothly.
We were provided the opportunity to purchase our own materials and Tracy even advised on discounts on particular items when applicable. With every question we had, Tracy patiently responded thoughtfully — always sensitive to our budget or design concerns.
Once Tracy’s team began, my husband and I would rush home from work every day to see the latest progress. The work was done quickly but with exceptional attention to detail. And, every evening the team ensured our home was swept as clean as a work site could be. (We were living in our home during the renovation.) I was incredibly thankful and grateful for that.
I would highly recommend Tracy and the wonderful team he employs for their professionalism, attention to detail, and great communication. I look forward to the next opportunity to work with Tracy again! I will definitely be calling him next time we have a renovation project!

My boyfriend and I were first introduced to Tracy through friends who’d had a great experience with him and his team. At that time we were several months into a bedroom/​bathroom renovation with another contractor with whom things had gone sour. Tracy made himself available the day I contacted him to come out and give us a quote. He was understanding of our tight budget and was able to get his team out to take over work the next week.
His team was respectful and courteous and delivered an excellent quality of work. As unplanned/​unconsidered (by us) items came up during construction (patching needed on our wood floor, wainscoting to match the look of our 100 year old house, a stone top to cover the area around our jet tub, our request for frameless glass shower doors, etc.) Tracy was consultative and helpful in addressing these needs and was always able to find us a great solution.
His team finished within the quoted time frame (4 weeks for a total bathroom gut/​expansion!) and we are SO pleased with the results! We now have an absolutely gorgeous bathroom and I’d recommend Tracy to anyone looking for a superhero contractor. He knows his stuff, only subcontracts with trustworthy people who deliver up to his (high!) standards, has a great eye for design and made sure he was available when we had questions. We feel very lucky that Tracy was able to turn our «nightmare» project into a great experience!

We met tracy a year and a half ago at an open house for a house he remodeled in the Mission which we loved. Alas we could not get the house but we took Tracy’s contact information and and called him a year later when we were considering bidding on a condo which needed some work. He responded immediately and met with us at the condo to help us evaluate its potential given our budget. We ended up with the winning bid on the place, and we contracted with TAGC to do the bathroom first, then the kitchen and the living room.
Tracy defies all the typical stereotypes about contractors. He’s a UC Berkeley trained architect which gives you a ‘2 for 1′, but more importantly he is a professional with integrity. He’s worked with us for the past six months to help us transform a somewhat ordinary condo into a dream home. Throughout the process he was incredibly responsive and partner to us with every aspect of the remodel. His crew is reliable, consistent, and very hard working. Tracy and team gave us advice on every aspect of the remodel from design to product selection and he was proactive about making frequent visits to our house check on progress.
In summary we couldn’t be happier that we met Tracy and have the pleasure to work with him on our previous and future projects. He’s the best.

We engaged Tracy and his team to build a 4500 sq. ft fully-​custom, Tuscan-​style dream-​home for us in Pleasanton. They completed the home for us in a record time to accommodate our personal constraints, building an impressive, show-​case home with unprecedented level of flexibility in our options and customization along the way at a very fair and competitive budget. The end product is simply stunning and continues to leave all our guests super-​impressed!
Tracy is the kinda guy you get comfortable around from the moment you meet with him — simply professional, honest and down-​to-​earth. While it did take us a while to get comfortable with the budgeting process, Tracy was able to gain our trust fairly quickly. With his experience building such homes, he was instrumental in value engineering the home from the design phase through completion. He took care of all the paperwork and bureaucracy in dealing with city officials to get our designs approved with minimal changes. Tracy brought a cross-​functional team of professionals from architects, structural engineers, framers, craftsmen to painters, plumbers, cabinet makers and landscapers — a team he has worked with on other projects and a team that could be trusted to do a quality job. But he also had other vendors bid on the contracts to ensure he was getting a fair and competitive price for us. Tracy was personally on the job site literally every day to guide his team and was always willing to meet with us at the site when we felt the need to do so. He accompanied us to supplier warehouses for material selection and gave us excellent recommendations (we ended up relying on him for several interior design suggestions for our home.
We also had Tracy complete the landscape design and installation for us close to heels of completion, basically giving us a ‘ready to move in’ custom-​built home. Tracy has been super-​responsive throughout this project and continues to provide top-​notch service post completion. This has been a fascinating journey for us and we thank Tracy and his team for working patiently with us and creating a wonderful home for us on budget, on-​time and with impressive quality. My husband and I remodeled our kitchen, bathroom and hallway closet with TAGC. Tracy and his team were great about managing the budget and the timeline of the renovation. We chose to work with TAGC because they did work with our neighbors, and were non-​plussed with the SF DBI.
Tracy provided a detailed budget and was willing to work through all the little snags we ran into (some were silly — the guys misplaced tiles and nearly gave us a heart attack — «we ran out!»), a missing toilet (since replaced) and revising the countertops to be perfect.
Tracy was great about staying in touch (we moved out for the renovations) sending texts throughout the day. His team was great about coming back to finish a few electrical items etc.

My wife and I bought an old property in Rockridge at the end of 2013 with a daunting list of issues to deal with.
From the moment we started talking to Tracy and laying out what we were looking to do we instantly felt comfortable that we were dealing with someone who really wanted to work with us to get the best possible result for our budget.
He instantly knew the type of look we were aiming for and there was a real sense of collaboration over what we were trying to achieve. Tracy and his team are amazing. When we built Tank18, we hit more than a few snags with the city permitting process, for no reason of Tracy Anthony team. He and his team were with us every step of the way helping us execute the permit process. Once we cleared that hurdle, he and his team worked around the clock, weekends, evenings, etc to try and get our project back on track.
The work was amazing, it was fairly priced, and the team is extremely responsive. I completely trust the entire team and would recommend them to anyone. Oh and check out some of the homes that they have built, stunning!

When I started the project, I contacted 5 different contractors. Tracy was the most responsive and his price was fair. He also pointed out parts of the scope that we’re bumping the price past my budget so we could look at more reasonable alternatives.
During the project, which involved a lot of creative pieces including working with a mosaic artist, Tracy was always proactive, down-​to-​earth and easy to work with. We had excellent communication too, which made things so much easier.
There were a couple of surprises such as unanticipated structural issues which means that some of the design had to be changed on the fly. Tracy and his crew always came up with viable and cost-​effective solutions.
Now, I have a gorgeous bathroom and I’m enjoying the hell out of it. I’ve already recommended the crew to a few friends and would love to work with Tracy again!

We were building a simple deck that was made complicated through the unorganized, nebulous, and complaint-​permissive nature of the Planning and Building Departments in San Francisco. We were in a major predicament that was beyond the skillset and bandwidth of our previous contractor. A friend who had experienced a similar situation with his retail space had recommended Tracy as a solve.
Even though my project was significantly smaller, Tracy quickly and efficiently took it on for a fair price. He knew who to talk to in the departments and when was best to find them. He prepped us for the process and explained all the complicated issues in layman terminology. He said what he was going to do, when he would do it, and delivered. He always followed through.
On top of all that, Tracy is a really nice, good-​humored, down-​to-​earth guy. In a city where getting any building project done is a bureaucratic nightmare, it was a relief to find a contractor we could put our trust in.
We had Tracy and a couple other contractors price out some miscellaneous projects for our TIC. Tracy was the most thorough, knowledgable, and fair priced. He was the quickest to return a quote, and the only one to brainstorm on multiple solutions. We look forward to working with him again.

My clients just purchased a San Francisco home extensively remodeled by Tracy Anthony. This was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The whole team was very professional. During the last few days while working on the punch list, I had the pleasure of working directly with Tracy. NOT a middlemen. He was accommodating and responsive even to last minute requests. As I was visiting the property daily, he was there making sure everything was done correctly with every subcontractor. Tracy and his team do great work for an extremely fair price. All his guys were courteous and respectful of our space. We had him rip off the old aluminum siding of our house and redo it with redwood siding and lots of trim. Now it looks like a victorian. The job is done right. He has also referred me several contractors when the job was not within his scope of work. And those referrals have saved us big $$$. You should always call Tracy to bid your job. He usually comes in with the best bid, and the craftsmanship is excellent.
