Shawn’s Computer Repair

Shawn and Rachel were great when we took in two older PCs that needed basic services including restoring the hard drives. One computer was completely frozen up and it was repaired. The other one was full of all kinds of unwelcome junk. Shawn was very careful to explain everything to me and showed me what I needed to know to get going again. So overall a very affable and successful experience. I have already recommended him to a friend who also has an older, slow and frustrating PC notebook

I have asked Shawn for help twice, and will likely do business with him in the future. The first two times, we just talked. Obviously, I want work done well, done quickly, and at a fair price. However, I want to talk about Shawn. He’s what we call in Yiddish parlance «a mensch.» He’s a real human being who cares about your business. He quoted me a fair price for a new hard drive and installation for a Macbook Pro, and if we come into some money, we may make that upgrade happen with Shawn. He’s trustworthy, and worth supporting in Lafayette, and worth the drive from Boulder.

I had two laptops that for one reason or another where giving me the old blue screen, The first was a inexpensive HP laptop with windows, which I really didn’t think there was much hope for, based on the fact it was my then 10 year old sons, who at time handled it more like a football than a computer, and the second was my go to HP chrome book.
You may notice a trend here in brand… just pointing out that almost every HP I have owned managed to go blue 6 months or so after the warranty was over. May be my habit of buying inexpensive computers … not sure.
So, after reading some reviews I decided to give Shawn a try. It was a good choice. Shawn did a few things really well. First he communicated a lot, and did the work quickly. He also gave me a good assessment of what the repairs would probably be, and was very sensitive to the fact that neither one cost over $ 350, so spending a bunch wouldn’t make sense for me.
All all ended well, I am typing this on my chrome book which required a new drive. Shawn returned the old one, as well as made a restore flash drive for me, jist in case I ever needed it. Nice service.
The shop hours are also great… open until 6, and half a day Saturday. I certainly would recommend Shawn anyone in the area.
