History
Established in 2008.
The Schneider’s built the house in 1991. It is 5,000 square feet of hilltop magnificence. 300 degrees of amazing views an «away from it all» feeling while being just 11 minutes from the freeway junction of 24⁄680. The house is decorated in Early California artifacts including a real stuffed bear. Many amenities, gourmet kitchen, gas BBQ, sauna, hot tub with great view off the front deck, endless pool in the back courtyard patio. The interior is furnished with antiques and luxury linens. Propane provided for the large BBQ, setting perfect for small events.
Shaping this house into it’s current condition was a labor of love and rather than sell it we fund our retirement through vacation rentals. Always the «party house» we decided to offer this special house for others to enjoy. And they do!

Karen married Doug in 1981. They spent years building the hilltop adobe villa in Lafayette and moved in in 1991. Each year more patios and features were added until it is surrounded by gardens, art, amenities beyond the ordinary. Karen graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in Concord in 1968 and CSU Chico in 1972. Doug graduated from Pleasant HIll High School and attended Santa Rosa Jr College and Cal with emphasis in agriculture. What a perfect combination to build this house. Karen, with her degree in Home Economics and Doug’s love of horticulture and his general contractor experience created this amazing house.
