I can’t say enough good things about this dental office. I work with adults with developmental disabilities. While I know people with and without disabilities that go to Dr. Herrington and love him, I am especially impressed with his demeanor with my clients. He is so respectful, helpful, and patient. Having been in this field for years, it is rare to find a medical professional who is able to treat my clients with dignity, but also take the time to explain things thoroughly. Dr. Herrington is an amazing man, and everyone that works in his office does amazing work. Not only will you find fantastic medical professionals, you’ll find kind, impressive individuals. I highly recommend!

Really great office. The staff is wonderful. Dr Herrington is so nice. Easy parking. The cleaning appointments are booked out so make your appointment after you finish your cleaning! Only thing to note: office is now closed on Wednesdays!

Matt Herrington is the best dentist in the world! Everybody who works there is as nice as can be. My family feels blast we are in good hands!

review a dentist? You must be kidding! My visit was fantastic. The entire staff was awesome. The billing was a breeze, same as my previous dentist. Dr. Herrington loves what he does. Explains everything as he goes along: courteous, professional, punctual, knowledgeable, and very intelligent. And get this. I recently saw him at church. We discussed an issue. When I got to my computer the next morning, boom! an email from him with the information. And 2 days later, a followup letter with the info. What??? Unheard of these days. Matt is a keeper.

My whole family goes to Dr. Herrington. Polite, professional, and a perfectionist, he is the best dentist we’ve ever had. He took great care of me when I had two of my crowns done, checking on me the next day. When my husband had a filling pop out, he saw him the same day over his lunch hour. His office and staff reflect his high standards. We are so glad that he is younger than me and my husband, and he can take care of our dental needs through our golden years!

Matt Herrington is a genuinely nice guy. He also happens to be an excellent dentist. He is careful, explains what’s happening as it happens, and takes great care to keep it efficient and comfortable.

I’ll never postpone going to the dentist again. New to the area and dental-​phobic, I dreaded this first visit even though Dr. Harrington was highly recommended. From the appointment phone call through the visit (The dentist himself does the initial cleaning!) I was reassured and relaxed, and received excellent care and advice.

I have thought about this long and hard. Perhaps something was lost in the translation when they were explaining to me how the billing is done or how generally the things are done differently in this office than in any other I’ve been in.
I’ve been here twice. I went the first time to get a basic teeth cleaning. They did a thorough exam, and charged me $ 110. They did NOT clean my teeth, and I walked away feeling something didn’t seem right.
Second visit was about a year later (due in part because of work). I went in, we talked about the procedure they were going to do. I paid $ 140 before the procedure. I got my teeth cleaned, and he fixed a filling. While he was fixing a filling, he said there was another tooth he wanted to fix while he was in there. I didn’t have much of a choice since he was already in there.
After that visit, they wanted to charge me WAY more then what we had previously discussed, in part because of the «extra» work he had done, that we didn’t discuss. I was sent a bill, and I requested a copy of what we had agreed on for the original procedure, and I never got that. I was disappointed to say the least. Even more so when they sent that bill to collections. Two thumbs down for sure on that move.
This review is based on both visits.

My entire family sees Dr. Herrington and even though I have moved from the east bay to San Francisco, I still come out to get my teeth cleaned here. Had my verniers done here and they look natural and have held up beautifully over the years. Dr. Herrington is very gentle when doing any dental work– definitely a pain free experience.
Everyone in the office is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The dental hygienist explained the science behind flossing to convince me why it is so important to do it everyday.

Dr. Herrington is a fantastic dentist — believe me I’ve been to a LOT of them in my 30 years and I’ve never had anyone so thorough yet gentle and really polite about having to move my head around and so forth. The chair I was in was hydraulic so absolutely silent — a nice touch! Matt takes the time to explain — in detail — everything he’s doing, why he’s doing it and even the science behind it. You can tell he loves his job. He’s really great to his hygienists and its clear the respect goes both ways.

When I was small, my brothers and I would rummage through the toy chest after an uneventful dental appointment. We’d ignore the «one toy» rule and take as many as our five fingers could grab. Not sure why we allowed our morals to lapse, maybe we thought we deserved it after the torture that I associated with the dentist. Even with no cavities, the hygienist and dentist loved to berate me for not flossing.
Well, now I’ve had the pleasure of being a patient of Dr. Herrington’s for years. Last December, Ned Herrington turned over the reigns of his practice to his very capable son Matt Herrington. While I’ve only had two visits with him, it seems like he’s continuing the traditions of his father and treating the patient with the outmost respect.
My hygienist is the reason I go there, though. She’s great. She’s kind, patient, and very serious about her job (but has a sense of humor).
The new computer system that helps the team make electronic charts is really effective. They can show you where you were last time and where you are today. This is great feedback for getting me to brush better and concentrate my flossing agenda.
Only downside; they aren’t part of my network. Still, their bills match what my network will pay. How’s that for smart?
If you’re in the need of great dentist and don’t have the desire for all the fancy distractions (cds, ipods, or DVDs) that other dentists need to take your mind off the pain, try out Dr. Herrington in Lafayette. You’ll be happy you did.
