Lionsgate Event Centers Dove & Gate House

If I could write two separate reviews it would be 5+ stars for the Dove House itself and 2 stars for the staff.
We had our wedding at the Dove House on 9−18−15. It is an absolutely beautiful venue. The grounds are well maintained and quirky with a chicken coop including adorable chickens that roam the area. The house itself is beautiful with different rooms and old decorations that give it a old world feel. I loved the fact that the Dove House was different than any other place we looked. It was perfect and we did have a great time.
The staff on the other had lacked quite a bit. We went through 3 different coordinators. The first one seemed stuck up and wasn’t very helpful. The second one we had for the majority of the planning process was wonderful. She was helpful and remembered things about our wedding and would ask how specific things were coming along. We were very disappointed to hear two weeks before our wedding that she had gotten a job elsewhere. We were then passed on to Alex. We wanted to meet with Alex before the wedding so that we could see who we had been passed on to and it seemed like things were going to transition smoothly. We had just recently gone through our final walk through with our previous coordinator so it should have been fairly easy for Alex to go through our timeline and see what was needed. It was a little disappointing that we had to be passed off onto someone else for our rehearsal but with Alex taking us on last minute it was a little be understood. We wanted a little bit of extract time getting ready on the wedding day so we paid for an additional half hour. We arrived at 4pm as scheduled and no one from Lionsgate was around. My mother in law had to go to the office to ask someone to come help because there were things that Lionsgate was supposed to have put out that weren’t. Someone from the office came to «help» but seemed a little put out and short with the people setting up. None of the people assigned to our wedding including Alex showed up until 5:30pm. I guess we assumed that we are paying for this place and someone from the venue would be on hand for questions. But that’s what you get for assuming. We paid for the planning package and got Cameron from 5280 mobile dj. He was wonderful! I cannot say enough good things about him. We would completely recommend Cameron as a dj. We also got our cake from Das Meyer and a photo booth through All Digital. All digital was supposed to show up after dinner was served. They never showed up and my dad was the one who had to tell Alex that they weren’t there. It was very frustrating to pay for the planning package, be told they, at Lionsgate, will take care of everything and have them not know that one of the vendors wasn’t there. We were also supposed to have lawn games that Lionsgate was supposed to provide that were never put out. I feel like Alex never really was involved in the wedding. She didn’t really know what was going on even though it was all written out for her in our final walk through. Looking back I should have been more direct and asked more questions especially since we were passed around so much. I would recommend not assuming anything. If you question it, ask them and get it in writing so you can reference it later.
Over all I would recommend Lionsgate as a wedding venue and if I had to go through the process again I would still choose Lionsgate.

Quirky venue with lots of odd and cool things to explore. A nice space overall. We attended a wedding here and enjoyed the venue very much. The outside spaces are very nice, while the inside sections are well air conditioned and spacious.

We had our ceremony held here and the place is beautiful, however the girl who coordinated for us that day was so rude to us and my own wedding coordinator, we were rushed out of the place and were not able to get in enough pictures after, and you only get this moment once. Lauren or (Laura) would not even let us back into the suite to grab our stuff. She told me right before I was about to walk down the isle, what time we had to be out. Totally ruined the moment. You pay x amount of money and hope it to be perfect and I was less then pleased with Lauren,. My family and even my bridal party told me she had a bad attitude. I do not recommend this place unless if you work with someone who is willing to help make your day special and not ruin important moments of your special day.

Don’t let this place decive you. There is no doubt that The Gatehouse and The Dove house are both beautiful but this place is not all that’s it cracked up to be.
As an ex employee 4 years ago, I quit this place because it was poorly run by the owners son. Steve was a very nice guy but his heart was not in the right place. He couldn’t manage a small staff for crap. When Amy was the GM shit actually got done and things were not a disaster. She had so much pride invested in that place for 10 years.
Some things that could still be improved for this Events Center are schedule your staff accordingly. Often times working Clean and Set we were always shorted people because the owners (who are multi millionaires) did not want to pay a large staff at one time. With a short staff, lots of things go unnoticed and don’t get done.
Also, maybe don’t tell your employees that they should not report getting hurt at work to the outside world. I remember being in a staff meeting with Steve and he had talked about workman’s comp and was telling us if we had reported anything that the company’s insurance would raise and that would be bad for them. To use an example Steve told us if we get our leg cut off don’t tell the hospital it happend at work, rather make something up. Sorry man, that’s not how that works.
When you wish to have a staff treat them with kindness and respect. Don’t belittle them or talk shit back in the office when they can here you.
As far as talking smack, people can be herd in the back making fun of brides choices. Don’t trash the bride behind her back for doing what she wants. She’s paying you thousands of dollars, put on a fake smile if you have to.
And I’m not sorry to say this but the place is being destroyed with those murals all over the fences. The one on the barn is cool, but what are you trying to become a pop art place? Look’s redicolus.
I have hopes that this place will get its shit together once again. In the mean time, check out some more Colorado venues that can actually be run good.
(I recently visited a few weeks ago for an event, and have watched the place fall apart, that’s the reason behind this review. Just goes to show the passion for this place is gone.)

My husband and I held our reception here and it was wonderful. Ashley, our coordinator, was very helpful and made the whole planning process very easy. My favorite part was discovering their extensive collection of center pieces that we could choose from; so many! During the party, Ashley was always available to help and when we needed extra chairs or regular sugars for the coffee bar, she immediately took care of it. Lovely, stress-​free experience. I would definitely use this venue again.

I went to a wedding at this venue and really liked it. The bride told me that the venue staff had set everything up for her including the table cloths, center pieces and decorations. She seemed pretty stress free because her wedding planner had everything in control. The event center held a wedding with about 150 guests comfortably and there was a dance area in the center of the tables. I liked how the dinner buffet was in a separate room so that the guests were dismissed one table at a time to get food. Also, all the vendors that were hired did a great job, including the DJ, caterers, and bartenders.
The grassy area with the pavilion for the ceremony was lovely and romantic. It was a peaceful area and had some large trees nearby that added to the romantic atmosphere.

From the highway 287 the Lionsgate is mostly hidden making this spectacular venue unknown to even the locals unless you had the pleasure of attending a fabulous event there already.
As the party/​event planner for my company I like to try new places every year, but because of the size of the my company now (225), I need a good size venue. I have run out of venues in Boulder so I decided to check out the Lionsgate in Lafayette.
I was lucky enough to meet with Paige (got to check out the Dove House next door too which is beyond amazing) who showed me the Lionsgate grounds and the Gatehouse facility. She truly loves her job, it shows.
WOW, ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! I was sold the moment I walked into the Gatehouse. What a pleasant surprise to see such a wonderful large beautifully designed and decorated venue. Originally this was a family dairy farm and many of the original features remain as the remodeling was done to enhance the charm and character of the old dairy farm along with the farm’s original family house. The space is large enough to seat up to 350 comfortably surrounded by a large warm fireplace and the west facing wall has gorgeous antique stained glass along with easy access to the outdoors’ private grounds. There is a centrally located bar and a large food access area to accommodate a large group at once. The price included all the tables, linens, etc… making my planning a breeze.
My Company’s Holiday Party was a BIG SMASH and everyone was blown away by and heard from many that this was the BEST place ever! We have already ready booked our party for this year (2013) as everyone is anxiously looking forward to returning.
Much kudos to the owners who remodeled these amazing facilities and keeping up with maintaining its original character and charm along with adding the beautiful antique stained glass.
Anyone planning a big event/​party will be most pleased by choosing the Lionsgate’s Gatehouse or Dovehouse to host it. A memorable event for everyone!

My wife and I attended a friend’s wedding at Lionsgate Event Center, and I must say it was very cool. The setting is very nice and has several large buildings surrounded by trees and quaint little garden areas. I imagine they could hold several events here at one time. The building they had their wedding in was very nice. It was large with huge west-​facing stained glass windows overlooking a garden area and a full bar in the back. The main room had all dark hardwood floors and beautiful Victorian décor. The staff at Lionsgate was very friendly and accommodating. I’m sure my friends had a great evening celebrating their union. I know I did.
