Lafayette’s première contemporary art gallery and ceramic studio. LaLa represents local and regional artists working with painting, drawing, ceramic sculpture, pottery, jewelry and more. LaLa hosts workshops, drop-​in projects, private lessons and parties in the clay studio.

History

Established in 2008.

Lala Gallery & Studio made 609 Main Street its home on May 9^th 2008. Lala Gallery serves as a progressive Fine Art gallery for local and regional artists in the Lafayette area. Lala Studio offers a variety of ceramic classes, workshops and parties. Lala is here to be used as a resource for artists, designers, collectors, parents and children in the Lafayette community and surrounding areas for Fine Art, Classes, Parties, Portfolio Assistance, and Gifts.

Meet the Business Owner

Angela V.

Business Owner

Angela Vinson (LaLa) a painter and potter since 2000. A graduate of Herron School of Art in Indianapolis works from her studio in Lafayette, Indiana. Angela says, «I’m just a painter who happens to like to throw mud around!»

LaLa creates paintings in a variety of sizes from 1′ x 1′ works on board to 9′ plus sized pieces on canvas. LaLa also creates a variety of forms from mugs, bowls, vases and platters to wall sculptures and tiles creating surfaces to paint on.

LaLa began her college studies as an art education major, but was soon drawn into the painting and ceramic studio. After her sophomore year she committed to ceramics and received her BFA from Herron. LaLa spent a year at Purdue University pursuing her MA in ceramics, and switched gears to pursue teaching. LaLa received her MA in secondary education from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2007. After a few years of teaching, LaLa opened her studio and has been a full time teacher, painter and potter ever since.
