Laid back, perhaps not the most personable folks, but a few minutes later I had the part I needed to fix a deadbolt lock for under $ 3. Love their collection of (cheap) wacky picture keys.

Could not find a Locksmith with a shop anywhere! I needed a strange key made immediately, so I went to Lafayette Lock and Key. Easy parking and I was greeted by a friendly gentleman. He found a blank that matched my key, cut it in about 90 seconds, and $ 2.00 later, I was out the door. The key worked perfectly — What more can you ask for? Quality cut, very affordable, and lightning fast. Highly recommended!

I live in a community of Lafayette where parking is separate from the houses. He claimed he’d done work out here several times, but insisted he needed to meet me at my house door to get my carport storage unlocked. I let him know it would be easier to call/​text me when he arrived so I could come out to meet him, but he wouldn’t be flexible, and I got the impression if he had trouble locating my house it would be an issue. He wouldn’t let it be simple. Not impressed so far.
Update: I ended up going with Flatirons Locksmiths, because they were willing to do the job right away, even if they were slightly more, they didn’t give me any difficulty with arranging to meet them.

Thankfully I didn’t read the reviews before stopping into Lafayette Lock! I needed locksmith services rather urgently to re-​key the lock on my house. I’d seen his shop driving past so stopped in.
Yes, he might be a little brusk, but I found him to be straightforward and willing to help. I stopped in around 12:15pm and he was changing the lock on my front door four hours later.
The deadbolt on my door was hard to operate because of shifting and settling (thank you, Bentonite) and he fixed this and didn’t charge me a penny.
Don’t go in expecting Mr. Outgoing Personality. But if you want honest, no-​nonsense and timely then he’s your man.
I am «Mom» and I thought he was great.
