It’s really hard to find a good IT guy, especially in the bay area. And have you seen their rates? I picked up this company’s card at a Radioshack in Lafayette. I guess Radioshack hands out business cards for companies they approve, in other electronic fields.
When I called a younger guy answered and took down all my concerns and, after asking a few specifying questions says he’s pretty sure he knows what it is. He told me the head technician is scheduled to come out to my home in Concord that same night. It ended up being the owner who came, and he didn’t even charge me for gas (during horrible gas price time).
They have a reasonable hourly rate compared to the other companies in the phone book, and what I love most is they subtract «idle time» from the bill– The technician/​owner must’ve spent 2 hours on my laptop but when I got the bill my eyes nearly bulged as I was charged only 45 minutes of labor !! And while he was waiting for the spyware software to install he was pleasant to talk to (again at no charge) instead of lapping up the idle money.
The poor guy takes calls from me and my boyfriend at least twice a week asking how to disable this or find that. He’s always happy to walk me through it at no charge.
