Imagination Station is a science center that is fun for the whole family. Imagination Station focuses on providing quality, fun and engaging experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, collectively known as STEM, that help young people identify with these powerful fields in a way that is sure to please the whole family.

History

Established in 1995.

The Association for Space, Science, Engineering and Technology, which does business as Imagination Station, was formed in the heart of Tippecanoe County in 1995. Near the world class Purdue University, a global leader in STEM fields and surrounded by such industry powerhouses as Subaru, Cook BioTech, Wabash National and General Electric, Imagination Station has served the community as a leader in STEM Outreach for over twenty years. With growing partnerships throughout an area rich in STEM opportunities, the future has never been brighter for Imagination Station.

This is a great local place for kids. We actually had a birthday party here and it was very nice. There are plenty of hands on activities for kids. The really cool thing is if you become a member here you can use that membership to get into other museums for free. Like the Science & Industry Museum in Chicago.

Best place for kids in greater Lafayette/​West Lafayette! Buy a membership if you live close, it’s good at Chicago science museums as other noted… which is a DEAL! Nice hands on stations, fun learning toys and great friendly staff. Check hours, I think it’s T, Th, F and sat 10 – 1 or 2. Great PLACE!

I did not actually go into the museum and look around. I am sure it is nice but small.
Here is the deal though. If you buy a family membership you can get basic entrance to all the big science museums in Chicago. That means you pay for your membership the first time you use it.
So far I have used my card to go to the: Field Museum of Natural History, the Science and Technology Museum, The Alder Planetarium, and I am looking forward to going to the Surgery Museum when it is warm enough to walk around afterward.
If you are considering a trip to anywhere to see a science museum buy a membership here first. It will save you money and help the local kids science museum.
