Central Self Storage

I recently visited this location with a friend of mine who has a storage unit
here, I came because I am in the market for a storage unit of my own.
I also read the reviews and they sounded pretty good, boy was I in for a surprise. When we got there and looked around the place
It was so dirty ! The parking lot was full and we had no where to park, we had to wait 15 minutes before a parking stall opened up ! When we got out of the car, next to our car were many huge dried up spills of coffee (?) on the ground everywhere. They have these small flatbed trolley’s you can use to
take your stuff to your storage unit that also were filthy dirty with big stains too on all of them. We had to put down a blanket on the trolley before we could use it, it was that bad. Everything was dirty, the elevator floor and the walls were in desperate need of cleaning as well.
It was a hot day, the day of our visit and the storage building was hot and stuffy inside, no ventilation, no air conditioning. We couldn’t stay long, I needed to get out. I know this would be not be a good place to store my wood antiques, the temperature fluctuation and heat would be too great and cause damage to my fine antiques.
I will not be using Central Self Storage in Lafayette to store my things, the place looks run down, is filthy dirty and too expensive. There are other places around that are much better I’ve found and are cheaper. I read the review again and they sure sound fake now, I’m sure they hired someone, used a friend, or gave free rent for someone to write a stellar review about this place, because it’s just not true. Stay away.

What a really nice convenient facility at the east end of Lafayette near the Pleasant Hill exit just off 24. Steve is a very helpful and easy going manager. Every type of unit size is available. I’ve changed between units as my storage needs have changed over the last few years. Climate control is great in case you need to spend a long time trying to find that missing item packed away in your storage unit. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter. This is not a garage-​like storage facility. Underground parking means you don’t have to deal with unpacking or packing in the rain. Amazing how much you can fit into the elevator.

We recently moved from Lafayette across the country, and gave up our storage unit at Central Self Storage. What a shame! This is hands-​down the cleanest and best-​maintained self-​storage business I have ever used (and I’ve used my share). The staff is friendly and helpful, and you can just tell that the owners, management and staff really care about running a great business well. It’s was a pleasure to be a customer there, and I cannot recommend them highly enough. If your stuff is important to you, this is the place you want to store it.

These guys are friendly, helpful, and professional. I went out of my way to keep my things out in Lafayette (I live in Berkeley) because I’d rather drive a little farther and feel secure that my things are well taken care of.
