Listen, if you want a nice apartment quality-wise, go for it. But if you expect anything to be done in a timely matter or have your problems actually resolved by office staff, don’t bother. This place is deplorable. The office staff is great when you first meet them — kind and willing to help. As soon as you sign a lease you’re chopped liver. They will ignore and dismiss you until the cows come home. I can’t emphasize how little they care about tenants(who are paying HEFTY rent). Was told I’d be given 2 parking spots upon signing a lease. One was assigned right away, but some other car was always parked there. Asked the staff to please tag the car with a violation and they wouldn’t, after asking multiple times. Wouldn’t tow either, despite huge posted signs saying they would. They don’t give parking permits either, so there’s no way to tell whose car belongs in which spot or belongs there at all. Got assigned a second spot weeks later(only after causing a stink in the office daily and promising to continue doing so until it was resolved), only to find that I was assigned a numbered spot which had already been assigned to one of the businesses next door without my knowledge. Then was confronted by the business owner for«parking in her spot.» Of course, no one in the office could answer my question or even tell me when the manager would be in. No one in the office is capable of answering questions or returning phone calls. Absolutely ridiculous. Customer service is of zero importance to them, and it’s very clear. Don’t bother with this complex, it’s a waste of your time. Find somewhere that’ll treat you like a human being and actually speak to you.

The office staff is unbelievably unprofessional and they lie to get you to sign leases. Upon signing my lease they said getting a second parking spot for an extra $ 50 wouldn’t be an issue. I’m now 2 months into my lease and we still don’t have an additional spot. We’ve asked about 8x for an update on this situation and we’re always getting this response, «we’re working on it».

Making previous tenants who have been here for years, pay more than a 10%, have renters insurance with a liability if 100,000, pay for all utilities and charging a pet deposit plus monthly pet rent of$ 50. Prop manager takes forever to respond to maintenance issues. Apartments have appliances from back in the 70s… office staff constantly changing and have no idea on what they are doing… this place is not worth it, you are paying too much for what you get.

We lived in this apartment complex for 8 weeks while waiting to close on our new home. I agree with previous reviews of this apartment community. The rent was very expensive for the quality of the apartment and the condition of the complex. The entire place is falling apart. The new property management company has planned a facelift but only a complete overhaul could save this place. You cannot get to your front door without walking past trash. The complex is filthy. The walls and floors are paper thin. You can hear every conversation and TV commercial from your neighbors’ home to say nothing of the freeway and Bart noise. The toilet in the master bedroom never worked during the time we lived there although we submitted 5 work requests. The playground is a joke. The property management team is well-intentioned but inexperienced. Run, don’t walk, to a different community if you are looking for an apartment to call home.

Beware. They are force evicting every single tenant over the next year or two to remodel and raising the rents where no one who is currently living here can currently pay. I have no clue what they are going to tell people who rent the couple of rentals that they are renting currently that haven’t been remodeled. I take it you will be getting a force evict notice a year after you have been here. Sack Properties who bought these 122 units owns Lafayette Oaks and Towne Center. They are a big corporation who do not care about the people the are evicting. I am sure the apartments will be great but you cannot fix the thin walls or the way your apartment will shake when someone walks by outside, your ability to hear your next door, downstairs/upstairs neighbor vacuum, shower, go to the bathroom or walk around. Let alone the smoke you can smell from other neighbors smoking. Be prepared for visitors not to park anywhere. I am sure the manager Laurie, who is also the manager of Towne Center, will respond with her canned response of how she is sorry we did not have a good experience and then go on to give excuses. There have been people who have lived here for decades, people who are disabled, people who have families. The reason we live here is because we can afford it. Nancie who sent a letter saying she was happy to be part of our community is a complete joke… There is nothing anyone can do for the people who currently live here, unless the company somehow grows a heart, but if anyone is renting in the next year, and your apartment is not remodeled, you will to be force evicted after a year… Beware.
