Specialties

We are known World-Wide for our authentic pancakes and quality ingredients such as fresh-squeezed orange juice, super thickly cut bacon, daily whipped cream and butter, amazing fresh berries and our large but unique menu. You must try an oven-baked Apple or Dutch Baby pancake for the full experience. We also oven-bake our souflee style Omelettes for extra fluffiness. Nothing out of the box, only real food made from scratch in our kitchen! You’ll «taste the difference».

History

Established in 1953.

The first Original Pancake House was founded in Portland Oregon in 1953 by Les Highet and Erma Hueneke. Drawing upon their many years of experience in the culinary field and their comprehensive working knowledge of authentic national and ethnic pancake recipes, they were able to offer without compromise this unique and original menu. This menu has gained national acclaim and remains unchanged to this day. In 1999, The Original Pancake House in Portland received the James Beard Award in the category of «American’s Regional Classic Award».

The Ladue location in Missouri opened in May of 2013.
