I wanted to make copies of some watercolor art, so I went to Winnisquam Printing & Copying to support a local business. At first the guy helping me was nice and even called his boss to see if I could get a discount for doing a high volume of copies. However when he began copying, the copies didn’t look nice and had a line down the side of them. After some finagling, we realized that the watercolor paper just needed to be flattened on the machine. Then the same problem happened again, and when I asked if he could try to get rid of the line, he informed me that I would have to pay for all copies made whether I liked them or not, that my watercolor paper was the problem, and the company can’t waste time and materials trying to get the perfect copy from an imperfect source. He essentially told me he would make my copies but I would have to take and pay for every one of them, whether I liked them or not. I opted to leave and went to a(unfortunately) non-local business, who was able to make all of the copies with no line, and also had no problem showing me multiple copies and letting me choose the versions I liked the best. For a small business, I was surprised that Winnisquam Print & Copying would care more about the small cost of making copies than customer happiness. Unfortunately that decision has caused them to lose a customer.
