Naswa Resort

This is an update to my previous review because I feel they deserve it! My boyfriend and I have now been to Naswa 4 times in the past 2 years. We LOVE this place! We talk about it all year actually and can’t wait to go back for our next trip! This most recent trip there was last week and we had a great time as usual. I believe it’s family run and you can tell they really take pride in it! We had the pleasure of overhearing a conversation during dinner at Blue Bistro between one of the owners (who is also the baker of the desserts there!) and a table of ladies next to us and the owner was telling her story about the history of Naswa and basically growing up there.
The staff is always great, especially upstairs at the Blue Bistro. They are always super polite and attentive. We love going for breakfast each morning and always set aside at least 1 night to have a «special» dinner upstairs because I’m obsessed with their meatloaf and won’t stop talking about it. It’s hard to save room for dessert, but dessert is amazing as well. My boyfriend is obsessed with the buffalo chicken wrap from Nazbar and that’s the one he gets most excited about having on our first day there. We love just sitting down at Nazbar and getting some sun and enjoying some live music. On super nice, hot days we like to sit in the water and enjoy our drinks.
The housekeeping staff is friendly and although we had the «privacy please» sign on our door during our stay, the housekeeping staff asked us if we needed anything and provided us with extra tissues and toilet paper when we ran into them in the hallway.
We noticed that they must have redone their entire dock and possibly expanded (?) and it looks great. We always like to go out there at night and look at the stars. We didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit this most recent trip, but that’s one of the things I look forward to the most. Last year they provided everything for s’mores but I didn’t see if they had that this trip.
It’s very conveniently located to everything, so we always go down to Weirs Beach and explore. Each trip we either rent a boat or jetski, and some places provide a discount if you’re staying at Naswa.
On our way home from our most recent trip I told my boyfriend how we spoiled ourselves. Our first trip to Lake Winnepesaukee was to Naswa, so now we could never stay anywhere else and have as much fun.

I spent two nights at the Naswa with my mom and my sister for a girls getaway. We had a GREAT time. We loved the one room cabin with the screened in porch that we stayed in. It was perfect for us. We also loved the lake and the beach front bar. The only reason I’m not giving it five stars is based on service at the bar. We had two outstanding servers, Brendan and Ami who were super attentive and friendly. They did a GREAT job. Other than that though, the service wasn’t great. There were many times we had to try to find someone to flag down and when we sat down for dinner, we waited a really long time before seeing someone to ask if we had a server. They said that we did and eventually someone came over but it was a little frustrating. We also tried to go on a boat ride but apparently it only goes out once a day and was full so that was a bummer. Overall though, we had a great time and would definitely come back again!

Slow Service, Meh food. Beach is awesome.
15 minutes to be seen by a waitress.
15 – 20 minutes to get 1 round of drinks. Place Order.
30 minutes to get food.
Waitress does not come back.
Eat — takes about 15 – 25 minutes… Waitress does not check up.
Other waitresses don’t notice people around them. Ask them for assistance they say will get your waitress. Doesn’t happen.
15 minutes, I have to find the waitress with my card so we can get out of there.
Beach is great and if you’re on the lake they have a lock.

We called to make a last minute reservation ended up stays a couple of days. Place is great, food is expensive but totally worth it. Beds are wicked comfy and the view is great. I will defiantly come again

Wow, I came to scout for my company and what an incredibly disappointing experience I spoke to Cynthia and as she stated she was a «third generation owner» who was very rude and non apologetic about my experience. In fact, she hung up on me. I have NEVER BEEN MORE DISAPPOINTED about a scouting event then I have at this «resort» nor offended by an owners behavior. DO NOT STAY HERE

My Wife and I decided to stay at the Naswa for 3 nights. At first I was a little skeptical because the place is 80 years old. That being said the rooms were very clean and comfy. We were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating staff. We also met the owner Cynthia who is obviously carrying on the proud family history of ownership. The breakfast was fantastic and the lakeside bar is a blast. I think this place is relaxing and old school resort vacation vibe.. This is what my Grandparents did when they vacationed. Worth a try from families to couples. Kudos to the Naswa.

We’ve been coming to Lake Winnipesaukee since 1999. Sometimes we rent a lake house and other times we find it more enjoyable to stay at the Naswa. If it was up to our children (6 and 10 yrs old) we would stay at the Naswa every year! They love the location, sandy beach and swim area. While watching the kids swim, mom and dad like to watch the endless boat parade through the Weirs Channel while listening to live music and having drinks at the beach bar. Docking accommodations for our 27′ Sea Ray are perfect. We have stayed at several of the Naswa’s many room types and especially like the rooms with kitchenettes. We continue looking forward to many more enjoyable summers on the lake!

I had made my reservations months in advance. The woman on the phone informed me that there was an event that weekend (blue seals poker run) and there would lots of things to do. Wrong. We were asked to leave the bar area and informed that the only area for PEOPLE PAYING TO STAY HERE was on the far end of the beach. I’m sorry, but what am I paying to stay here for then? If I can’t even utilize their main attraction then I wouldn’t have come here. The package in the room offers boat rides, so we called and asked abojt it. We were told there wasnt one available that saturday, even though they have them on saturdays. The first night we got here wasnt too horrible. We got to acctually enjoy the nazbar. The food is horrible and cheap. My boyfriend ordered fish tacos. They came completely loaded with cheap Mexican blend cheese. The mojito was all juice. The only thing they do right is coconut shrimp. I’ve been coming here since I was a child and I won’t be back. The bad out weighs the good by far.

I’m sure the resort part is really nice, when I booked I was not expecting to be staying at the dumpy Motel behind it. Not at all what I wanted but at least it was quiet. If they didn’t have the most uncomfortable beds and pillows I’ve ever had the displeasure of using maybe we could have enjoyed the quiet and actually slept. The bathroom was beyond scary, I’m assuming it was built in 1970 and never remodeled. Not only was it ugly, but the shower switched from hot to freezing (without touching the knobs) every couple of minutes. You also feel like you are going to fall through the soft shower floor. Hope you like baths because it doesn’t drain either. I would not recommend this motel or stay here again.

Stayed there for the third year in a row and found it to be getting worse rather then better. No basket in the coffee maker in the room, Smoking area right at the entrance of the hotel hallway, (YUCK) EXTREMELY Expensive at the NASWABar — waitress was very confused. As I sat in the lobby waiting for the wife, I thought this would be a great place for the Hotel renovation guy on TV. Chairs were dirty and well used as was the carpets. Our room was «OK» but the mattress was very uncomfortable and the shower drain, well, was not draining so you ended up in a pool at the completion of your shower. NASWA is off our list and we will be looking for a more up to date place for next year.

Great location with a private beach right on Lake Winni. Came with 4 friends, roomed with 2 in one of their suites facing the water which included 2 queen beds, 1 pullout couch, small kitchen and bath. Rooms were clean but a bit dated. Other 2 friends had a room across the street facing the water.
All of the staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. There’s a bar/​restaurant right at the beach but we didn’t try it but did spend the day at the beach which was very relaxing. Chairs, kayaks & paddle boats are all available.
Best feature: location! Worst feature: rooms a little dated.

One star. Enough said.

This review is long over due. Thank you to all the staff at the Naswa for making my husband’s birthday so special. There were a few small problems but because of the hospitality of the staff and the extra special things that were done over the weekend, the problems were soon forgotten and great memories remained.

Oh boy. This one is hard because I used to adore this place as a kid. My family spent a lot of time here when it was a little more laid back.
Now, the prices have gone WAY up and the quality of the food has gone WAY down. They have also covered the entire beach with tents, making it impossible to enjoy the sun while you are there. Also, it is very hard to dock a lengthy boat at their docks and we don’t like to raft with strangers. A couple of times we’ve tried to go for an event or poker run, but couldn’t dock anywhere! It is either that or the place is deserted, which makes the atmosphere less fun.

Despite «resort» being a part of the name this is a typical motel type establishment. I was a little disappointed to find our unit across the street from the rest of the facility. The room did have a balcony with a somewhat obstructed view of the lake. The room had no refrigerator, no microwave and intermittent WiFi access. The positive points are the availability of boats and jet skis for rental and free use of canoes, kayaks and peddleboats for guests. The hotel is on Paugas Bay a not very attractive section of the lake. There is a small beach crowded with chairs and very little sand. The Blue Bistro and Nazbar are both nice ammenities.

What I absolutely loved was that we could dock our boat on the Naswa docks while we stayed here! The staff was friendly and helpful. Their customer service is wonderful. The restaurant was a little pricey but the food was good. There are many conveniences and other attractions very close by. My only heads up is that if you do book here and dock your boat when it’s not super busy, the ducks take over the docks and are extremely messy. I also hope they update the beds in the cabin we stayed in. For the kids to complain that they didn’t sleep means they are pretty bad! If you are allergic to animals, tell them when you book. Some of the cabins are pet friendly! We will probably be going back next year, provided they updated the mattresses!

We came in to town for a weekend golf tournament at Lochmere and friends booked this place.
We got coupons at check-​in, but oooops, it’s only for dine-​in, upstairs at the restaurant that the entire time we were there, never saw a soul in. We tried using the coupons while on the beach, ordered, and was told we couldn’t use them, inside only. Even though we watched the waitress bring our food FROM the inside restaurant.
I ordered a cranberry and club soda and was told I couldn’t take it out of the tent area, no alcohol. What if ordered water? Nope. Can’t take that out either.
Who the heck comes to a place like this and dines in? Nobody.
The room that wasn’t that cheap, has electric sockets that won’t hold a single cable. You put the plug into the wall and it falls right out and this is EVERY socket in the room!
No refrigerator. Sits right by the road and you can hear loudly every car, truck and bike that goes by all night long.
This place has a great location and view.

We visited the Naz bar last year, and I think we fared better experience-​wise by sitting at the bar. We ordered from the Blue Bistro menu and it was pretty appetizing on paper, but the food, in my opinion, was very bland. However, our bartenders were great and the drinks were great– the atmosphere, too, you couldn’t beat.
So, we went again last evening and sat at a table instead. We had quite possibly one of the worst waitresses I’ve encountered. Her attitude sucked BIG TIME. I don’t know if she was on a double and very tired or if she just didn’t want to be there, but rather than stay and relax and order more drinks/​spend more $$, we left because of her and went elsewhere– plain and simple.
The food was mediocre, but again, the atmosphere and drinks made up for it. We ordered off of the Blue Bistro menu again (which shrank considerably from last year), and our server seemed confused about that menu. I asked a question about it, and her words were, «I’m not really familiar with THAT menu.» Ummmm… why are you «unfamilar» with any menu that your restaurant presents to its customers? I get the feeling that the Naz bar and the Blue Bistro are sort-​of connected, but not really… they need to figure that out so that their servers have the proper amount of information for their customers.
Finally, there were promo girls walking around with free t-​shirts and free shots. They totally skipped us, even though it wasn’t packed, and went to the tables on either side of us. I don’t know what the criteria was to be graced by their presence, but every bar I’ve been in, the promo girls walk around with free stuff until it’s absolutely gone, and they don’t skip legitimate, paying customers.
Again, the atmosphere was cool– the view, the boats, the ducks, and the drinks were all great. I wish I could say the same about the service. If you do visit, I seriously recommend sitting at the bar and skipping the table service altogether.

My first impression of the staff is that they just don’t get it… either that, or they just don’t care.
i was here for a wedding on labor day weekend, and from the get go, at check-​in, the staff dissapointed me. They really confused me by sternly handing my beads for the mardis gras themed weekend… it was like «wear these, but don’t even think about having fun».
The resort itself is nice, great location, right on the water with a beach that has a bar, and restaurant. There are a variety of different room options as well, from beach front, to right across the street. but all are close.
i don’t consider myself too much of a fancy boy, but, when i pay 200 bones per night for a hotel room, i expect and iron, a fridge, and a tv from this decade. the Naswa does not deliver that.
I don’t know if we were getting price gouged because it was labor day, but, i thought that it was pretty expensive for what we got. I am not that familiar with the area, and this could be one of the better resorts around.
All things considered, we had a blast!

The nazwa is a great destination right on lake winni. The rooms range from pretty cheap across the street and up a steep hill to right on the beach. The beachfront rooms have thin walls and are noisy especially if you face the beach on the weekend. I love the fact that you can dock your boat and park your trailer for no charge. Dock service is excellent. Breakfast is very good. Don’t get the pre-​made mixed drinks like the Mudslide or Margarita as they contain absolutely no alchohol.
