South Sound Audiology opened as a private audiology practice in June 2007 to serve hearing-​impaired adult and pediatric clients in Olympia, WA and surrounding communities.

Business Owner

Julie VanAusdal, M.S. CCC-​A is a clinical audiologist in private practice in Olympia, WA. She obtained a B.S. degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Iowa in 1985. Subsequently, she came to Washington State to complete a Master’s degree in Audiology at the University of Washington. In 1988, she completed an internship at the VA Hospital in Seattle and moved to Anchorage, AK. Ms. VanAusdal worked with a neuro-​otologist in Anchorage for several years: performing diagnostic audiology services, including assessment of balance disorders, intra-​operative monitoring, and cochlear implant programming. She also created hearing solutions through use of hearing instruments and assistive listening devices. She has been in Olympia since 1995 working with ENT physicians until 2006. In that clinical setting she provided hearing services including hearing instrument fitting, and aural rehabilitation, including assistive listening devices.
