Both my daughter and I ended up with root canals. Both are failing. Now I need a specialty extraction. I always felt the «up charge» here and felt forced into procedures that were more expensive.

Do not go there, they treat you like a cattle. I had a very small filling, ended up with root canal, crown for the tooth because he wouldn’t check the bite, didn’t even smooth it out. I went back and saw his partner, told her the problem I’m having (bad smell when i floss etc.) she told me i don’t know how to floss. Her hand shaked so bad, ever seen a dentist with a trembling hand?!! She grind my tooth down some but the damage is already done, now i have to spend over 3000 for root canal and the crown. Small problem became a huge problem because they couldn’t careless about you!

This is the same business as Dental Care of La Verne. Their ratings are so bad they decided to start a new Unilocal page under a different name??? Do yourself a favor and look at the comments left under the business name.

Don’t go to Dr. Liu unless you have good dental plan which they can get paid more than they suppose to charge.
My insurance states that I only need to pay $ 20 co-​pay for teeth cleaning, they charged me $ 40. When I told Linda what they submitted to insurance did not match what they did for me, she could not answer. Today, I showed up for my appointment, and the office manager Linda called me over for a discussion before I was seen. She said they need to charge me $ 60 even with my insurance. They should have done their discussion with me on the phone so I did not have to make my trip there. There are tons of dentists around to choose from. I don’t need to surrender to an unethical and greedy dentist.

worse service ever! i recommend not going here! they are so phony! i was a regular customer for many years and one appointment they kind of treated me poorly.

Recently got laid off, moved to Claremont, down graded to HMO dental and found Dr. Liu. I had a great dentist in LA and my teeth had no issues except that I have been grinding my teeth due to stress and needed a night guard ASAP. Dr. Liu jumped on that took care of me asap. Nice guy.
Dr. Liu’s dental hygienist was very good and even after I said no deep cleaning they forgot and did it but $ 61 I was ok. Dental guard Dr. Liu made sure I was well fitted and $ 225 I was ok with that also. Reasonable and felt Dr. Liu was a good dentist as well as his staffs.
Feeling out of sorts with HMO insurance I wanted to make sure Anthem and Dr. Liu were being honest…30% off for the night guard so I called Dr. Liu. /​Linda the finances person said will call me back after discussing it with Dr. Liu. Didn’t call back. I called her back.
Dr. Liu’s office was following through with Anthem BUT decided to no longer treat me as a patient. Guess they didn’t appreciate my questions about the costs. Linda let me go on about my stuff and when I wanted to set up a check up appt she said we are no longer your provider. I told her «you should have just told me from the beginning of this call.»
Anyhow I’d have appreciated Linda call me back like she said and tell me. Until I get a FT job I have to still take care of myself. And I get that Dr. Liu wants patient s who can pay with the least headache possible.

I’m surprised at the post of Andree-​Ann D. This has not been my experience. I was actually referred to this dentist several years ago from my HR department after repeated horrible experiences at other dentists — poor service, outrageous prices, bait and switch tactics, one dentist quoted me a price literally into the THOUSANDS of dollars for work that was done by Dr Liu was literally a fraction of the price. I’ve always been extremely satisfied with the professionalism as well as the prices. I think this was a fluke. This is a wonderful establishment.

When my usual denist (okay, technically in Glendale) wanted $ 210 for cleaning & x-​rays, it dawned on me to try my gf’s family dentist, Dr. Liu, in lovely La Verne, about 40 min. east.
Cleaning & x-​rays: $ 60
That is not a typo.
Let’s see … $ 210 or $ 60? Decisions, decisions.
What’s more, it’s a big, beauitiful office, nicer than my usual dentist’s Glendale office. Dr. Liu and his staff are also courteous and top-​notch.
If you don’t mind a peaceful 45 minute drive to save $ 150 bucks, THIS is the place!
