Love this place great service someone’s always around to help you the only thing is it’s dusty in there and they ran out a lot of stuff I don’t have time to be ordering things it should be fully stocked but very nice neighborhood hardware store

I’ve lived in the area over 25 years and Merritt’s has always been my go to place for all my diy needs and besides that, they repair screens, sell propane tanks, plants, snacks, turf and much more they’re staff is excellent and always ready to answer your questions.

This is our go to place for hardware and those hard to find items
My wife loves to go here every couple of months to see what’s new
Then as the holidays come around. We go there several times a Month
Their Christmas room of bargains is always a must see
We usually pick out a couple of new things every time
And then if there is a hard to find plumbing fixture or electrical component that is needed, they usually have them in stock
Also When looking for a steel wheel for a rolling steel gate. They had several to choose from… unbelievable selection and very very helpful employees

Excellent customer service with knowledgeable employees. Lots of choices~~~ a great place to get help with small projects for your home. Plus all sorts of gadgets and things to look at, which is great when your husband drags you there all the time.

I really don’t like cause, everytime go there never leave alone, I like to shop and look around, homedepot the best I only go emergency

I been going here for years myself n decades with my dad. Great price n service. Would be 5 stars but I don’t always know what I need nor do I want help. I plan jobs in my head n they change if I find something that works better which means I spend a lot of time thinking n looking at around. N I can just see them n feel like after a bit there watching me as if I going to steal. Dont help I look 19 but I’m 31. So when planning stuff I’d rater go to lowes or home depot to not feel rushed. I then go to ace when I know what I need then see what I bought for more at big dept store

I love this place if that more material I will definitely come here before I go to Home Depot but I have a higher selection at Home Depot but the customer service is nowhere near this place

Went in to get a few keys made for the house! In and out within 10 minutes or less.
What can i say but fast friendly and helpful service by all that work there!

Merritt’s is s great place to go for hardware supplies. Most everyone is knowledgable about their products. You are usually greeted with a «welcome to Merritt’s» sometimes no smile at checkout.

This place reminds me of when i was a kid out with pops picking up some stuff at the local neighborhood hardware store.
They do have plenty here even though its less then half the size of a home depot or lowes.
The staff i dealt with were nice & helpful.
They do have many weekly sale items throughout the store.
Happy to see older smaller businesses like this surviving in todays world.

I have been comming here since I was a kid. This is a great example of a mom and pop hardware store with great service. The location even has character; I love the fact that this is a hardware store and they’ve had a leaky roof for years. They have a good selection of tools, seasonal items, knowledgeable people in the plumbing section and your typical hardware items. They have survived local competition from Olés, Builders Emporium and OSH. They don’t stock a great selection of materials so contractors probably won’t like it but it is great for the home or business owner that needs something quick.

I love coming to this place… It is close to my house. But it is also less confusing than the larger hardware stores. There are always employees waiting to help you and assist you.

I love this place. Polar opposite from Home Depot or Lowes. You walk in and there are somany people around to help you! I go here for all my needs now. I love supporting this small awesome business as opposed to corporate HD/​lowes.

The employees here actually know what products they sell AND where you will find them within the store. They do this with a success rate that far surpasses that other store with the apron-​wearin’ weirdos.
Additionally, countless times have I gone to the OTHER store only have to drive my arse to Merritts ACE Hardware and actually find what I need. This store is now my default hardware store.
This store may not have the flash, the aprons, and the commercials that other stores have, but they know what they have, they know what they’re doing, and they most likely have what you need.

I love going to Merritt’s Ace in La Puente. It is easy to run in and get what you need and there is ALWAYS a friendly employee to assist you. I recently went in to pick up on online order and walked out spending $ 85 on Christmas stuff… they have old school Christmas lights! They have a cute Christmas area set up and a whole row dedicated to JUST Christmas lights… I’ve posted a couple of pics here…

Very helpful staff. Always answers my questions and gives great advice. I like to stock up on their Ace brand motor oil when on sale. I buy it by the case. At $ 1.99 per quart, nobody can beat it!

this is my go-​to hardware store. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid with my dad. the staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable. I recently had a plumbing issue and the salesman helped me figure out what to get and how to fix my problem. they almost always have exactly what I’m looking for, I only wish they were bigger but a great place overall.

Walking into this store I certainly did not feel like I was in California that’s for sure. I felt like a middle aged man somewhere in Nebraska that loves hardware stores. Seriously, this place has an old time small town hardware feel. I dig it! Obviously not Home depot and a tad overpriced on some items but in my opinion better than the mainstream stores. They have everything here and when I say everything I mean it. Even Samuri swords if that even makes sense lol. I came in for a visit to fix a household broken window. I dropped it off and received excellent service. When I cam back the young man who helped me was again as sweet as pie and explained that they used a thicker (double glass) instead of the cheap thin glass I had. Cool! Must be at least 100 bucks right? Nope, to my surprise it was 47 and change. I was very happy. There is plenty of parking in the front and extra in the back. They have all the departments any handy man/​woman would love. Great customer service with high knowledgeable staff. Thank you Merritt’s, I am a happy camper thanks to you!

My father used to come here when I was a kid. Only recently started coming on my own after receiving poor services elsewhere. This place is outstanding. If you want great service, very helpful staff, and miss old fashion reliability without someone trying to sell you things you don’t need — come here.
My parents wanted me to buy them a new floor lamp for this year’s Christmas gift, because our old lamp (which I bought them a few years back) had failed to produce the 3-​way lighting the socket used to make. Rather than throw away a $ 150+ floor lamp, my boyfriend and I took it into Merritt’s. FERNANDO in lighting was absolutely amazing. He helped to repair/​install a new socket and all we paid for was the parts ($ 6). It took no time at all and he did it on the spot. He was super knowledgable and courteous. A friendly guy and very honest. I don’t see that anywhere, anymore and it impressed me so much that I needed to write a review the moment we walked out the door.
Even when I was just wandering down aisles to look around at Christmas décor, multiple sales people approached me to check on my status — I didn’t have to chase someone down for service! Will definitely be back and plan to become a loyal customer here.

Merritt is an old fashion mom & pop hardware store where customer service still matters. They have been under Ace Hardware umbrella for a while. But, don’t be fooled… they have been around a long time (at least 45 years but probably longer). They are located in a strip mall with plenty of parking.
Their staff is very friendly and really know their stuff. They can help you assess what parts that you need and where the items are located in the store. And, unlike many big box stores, they carry all kinds of hardware and parts (e.g., bolts, fasteners, gaskets) so this place should be last place that you need to go to when searching for such items because you will find it here. This place is usually pretty busy because professionals and serious shoppers know that this is the place to go. They also sell tools, plumbing fixtures, etc.
So, for fantastic service and a huge selection of hardware, give Merritt’s Hardware a try.
