Worst experience ever, tobstart with the server had manners, slow service and the food had no taste to it what so ever I had to put a lot of salt & extra Limon so it can at least be good, I don’t recommend this place!

Coming to this restaurant took me back to the days when I would go to Mexico. They have good food and service.

Went on 6−12−11 around 4:30ish. Was 5 dirty tables 2 clean tables and took us around 15 mins to get seated. The music they played was extremely loud. Waitress was slow. We ordered 1 asada burrito(Red), 1 carnitas burrito(Green), Taco combo Beef(Hard), 3 Tacos a la carte Beef(hard)… The burritos were awful. Meat in both was over cooked. The rice was tasteless and the beans tasted old. The sauce drenched on top was very oily and had an off smell. The tacos were no different. The meat was already cooked. Stuffed into the corn tortilla and then deep fried resulting in an over cooked meat. We barely picked at the food and waited for the check After waiting 20 mins for the check we paid and left. AVOIDTHISPLACE.

*I think this is the right place for it, the tacos I’m talking about came from a truck with this name on it* When my boyfriend’s face lit up at the mention of this place and proudly told me that they had the best tacos, I admit that I had one eyebrow raised. I’ve tasted many a taco place and I had yet to find one comparable to Tacos Tijuana in Garden Grove, including King Taco(sorry Cyn A.!). However, I trust his judgement and we have very similar tastes. I think I’ve not only found my life partner but also my foodie soulmate! Mr. J was absolutely right, this place has AMAZING tacos. You also can’t beat the price! For less than $ 8, two people had a filling midnight snack. I’m a lengua taco connoisseur and, don’t tell TT but… I think El Jalisco’s is better. There, I said it! It’s so shameful but if I have to cheat on my beloved Tacos Tijuana from the OC, it’d be with sinful El Jalisco in LA.

I’ve been to maybe dozens of mexican restaurants because I’m a mexican and I love MEXICANFOOD. This one is not high on my list. Parking-awful, really dark and on the side. Service-slow. They take forever to take your order, bring food. Food-Yeah it’s pretty hot if you order anything hot, I’ll give them that. It’s piping hot. But I ordered the only thing that I thought they could never get wrong, the Bistec Ranchero. Uh, right, it came with only meat and sauce and onions. Where’s the freaken chunks of tomato you get at El Jacalito and San Isidro on Rosemead Blvd? Where are the green peppers, the spices? It was all right tasting nothing special, but just kind of there… My boyfriend ordered the ‘Burrito Mojado’ and he said that was delicious, but he’ll eat whatever. My mother in law got the mariscos, she said it was good… Still, for me it wasn’t just that much.

The phone number listed here is out of service. I like to alternate between El Jalisco and Dalia’s pizza for lunch. Between the golden bread sticks doused in rich garlic butter at Dalia’s and the crunchy deep fried ceviche tostada at Jaliscos, it’s no wonder my ass has gotten fatter with each passing day. The ceviche tostada is $ 2.50 and is a meal in itself for someone with a moderate appetite. The ceviche is comprised of a seafood mix, mostly fish with bits of shrimp sprinkled throughout. It’s heavy on the lime, onion and cilantro, so avoid this one if you’ve got a hot date planned later in the evening. On hotter days, the shrimp cocktail is really refreshing. It’s a mexican gazpacho: cold tomato based soup but with thick slices of avocado, plump shrimp, and even more raw onion and cilantro. The only con is, I suspect the sodium content must be grotesquely high. After each satisfying meal, I often find myself parched and even after consuming bottle after bottle of water, I’m still thirsty! Still, it’s worth it!

This restaurant is really good. This is one of my choices for authentic Mexican food. Until I find a better one, this will be my first choice. Portions are good and prices are fair for the location. Depending at what time you go, service may be a little slow. Sometimes they only have one or maybe two waiters. Sometimes parking is limited since the restaurant is on the same lot with some rental homes. I also like the 2×1 tacos. They are cheap, very tiny(smaller than king taco), but good. Some of my favorite plates are the carnitas plate, costa azul camarones, enchiladas and the barbacoa plate. Give it a try and see how you like it.
