County of Los Angeles Public Library – La Puente Library

cool place (the ac is always on high) the place is in an old town La Puente (historic but somehow dead) …this library has a self check out machine – convenient…the hours are kinda weird (closed at 5pm on wed & thurs?) must be the budget cuts… also, if you reserve a popular movie in this library, you might have to wait 2 months before you can pick it up… theory: the employees get first dibs in watching the movie before u get ur turn. rofl

Good library to get work done if there are not many people.
–5 shared tables with outlets, but I came around 3pm on a Th and only three of them were occupied
–12 desktops are available (they were all full) for public use and there are definitely a lot more kids here playing video games than adults working, so expect some chattiness in the background
–The A/​C is on, but not very high
–It does not seem like this is a very high traffic library — which I like a lot
–Librarians are very friendly and accommodating
–Bathrooms are clean and can only be accessed via permission by a librarian
–Internet requires a library card ($ 3 replacement fee)
–Deal breaker: Opens at 1pm on Tuesday and Weds
Overall, a generic library. But I’m giving it 2 stars because it opens at 1pm on Tues and Weds and is closed on Monday.

Library looks old from the outside but very updated with contemporary furniture and high tech computers inside. There’s a lot of outlets, seating, and open space to do some light studying or reading. But I wouldn’t suggest coming here if you want peace and quiet as there are a lot of kids running around and adults talking very loudly. The day that I was there even the librarian was watching online videos with the sound on loud.

New, Clean, friendly, helpful, approachable, comfy, high-​tech, perfect for kids, bit noisy, plenty of computers, can borrow laptops.

Always clean and the right temperature. :)
I order the books I want and they hold them.
It doesn’t get any more convenient then that.
