Charlie Nails & Spa

The salon is very nice and clean and relaxing. I’ve been there twice and both times my gel manicure has chipped within days of getting them done. With that being said, this sadly won’t be my go to salon but rather one that I go to in a pinch. Prices are moderate and they have a huge selection of gel and regular colors as well.

Very welcoming atmosphere with a spa type vibe. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The staff was very courteous. Only had a gel manicure done this time but will probably have a pedicure done as well when I go back.

First time experiencing this salon and it is beyond my favorite! I’ve had manicures all around the world and this was by far the best! Peter was professional and detail oriented! He shaped & buffed my nails to perfection that this picture I posted doesn’t do it justice! The atmosphere, music and décor is beautiful as well. Definitely one of the cleanest salons I’ve experienced. Charlie and his staff all are perfectionist! My sister and I were speechless when we left because we couldn’t believe how great they were. A great salon is hard to come by these days!
If you’re in the Waldorf/​LaPlata area, this salon is worth it! $ 35 gel manicure isn’t bad either!

Ok… so when you walk in you see how beautiful this place is! The staff is all very friendly and seem to know their regulars by name very well. This is not your «traditional» nail salon like you see in our area. They do very good work, very professional and clean! They really take pride in their work — I saw them taking photos of eyelashes and nails they did to show them off! That speaks volumes to care that much about the work that you do. You’re going to pay a little more than other «salons» in our area, but totally worth it. I took my daughter here the other night for a full set and it was a great experience overall. They also gave her a mini hand/​arm massage when she was done with lotion that smelled AMAZING!

I have been to many «nail salon/​spas» before. They don’t amount to the atmosphere of Charlies. I have been going here for 2 years now. If my pedicure needs to be done, here is where I go even if I need one really bad. I like how they fill your request on what type of design you want on your nails. I usually ask for a flower which is common. They actually draw a flower on your nail. They don’t take a dab of paint and smear it on your nail with a dot in the middle. They have real talent, take their time, and are pleasant. The massage chairs are wonderful while getting a pedicure. You are offered tea, lemonade, or water to drink while getting your service. Yes it is free. The décor is wonderful and the music played is relaxing. You have your own privacy with a curtain that closes with 4 chairs so you and your friends/​family can get your feet done at the same time. They also have 2 rows of chairs like you would usually see when you go to a typical «spa”/ nail salon. There is a curtain that closes also for that area. I am always satisfied with the work that is done. I often recommend my friends to dump where they have been going and try Charlies out. Yes it costs more than other places, but you are getting quality.
My daughter went to another nail salon for a manicure and within a couple of days her nails were coming off. From that point on she only prefers Charlies. Charlie is a nice guy that interacts with his clients. He is fast and professional. As is his employees. I saw him file and shape a nail at the same time. That takes skill.

First time there for a pedicure and I was impressed. The place was relaxing and smelled wonderful. They offered me a glass of water or juice (not sure if it was free, as I declined the offer) They allowed me extra soaking time which I loved for my sore ankle. I never felt rushed. The chairs were comfortable and semi-​private. The pedicurist was awesome and gave me excellent service. I I had been searching for a good place to go after Lamour nails moved and finally I found this little place tucked away in La Plata. I will be a repeat customer.

I haven’t had a professional manicure for some time, and decided to have one done for my birthday. I don’t like to be massaged by strangers so I asked for the basic manicure and pedicure with gel lacquer nail polish so that the manicure would last for longer than a day. From the moment that I walked into the door, speaking with the native English speaker, speaking with the hostess who showed me to my pedicure chair, the manicurist, and finally the woman who took my money for the services, all had assured me that the color I had chosen would be a gel lacquer polish. I spoke to the manicurist about my concerns of having this specific type of manicure and she reassured me that the polish will last. When paying for the service it seemed that it was slightly cheap and I made the cashier repeat to me that I was paying for a gel lacquer manicure. The very next day the polish started chipping, so I called the nail salon and told them, to my delight the young woman who answered the phone was very helpful. She immediately made arrangements for me to come back into the salon to have my nails fixed. When I returned to the salon, the cashier immediately looked at my nails and told me that I received a regular nail polish and not the gel lacquer that I had asked for, but the good news is that I wasn’t over charged but could upgrade now for $ 25. I don’t know about you but I don’t think this good business practice. I feel hoodwinked and unfortunately do not have hours in one week to sit at a salon in order to have nail polish that lasts. I would have been very happy with my service if I was not lied to by multiple people in the salon. This salon was recommended by a friend of mine who is very particular about her manicure. Not only was I lied to about the services that I was given but also was given a horrible manicure. I need to cut some of my nails when I got home because of the harsh edges and miss shaped nails.

I came with my sister this is my third or fourth time visiting this salon and I was please as always. They are kind and always do a great job. I will definitely be back. Cici did my pedicure for the 2^nd time and did an amazing job and the design she did was awesome.
I showed them the coupon for the $ 5 off all services on here and they honored it but Charlie told me this is not something he permitted Unilocal to offer on their site. He said he has spoken to Unilocal!Already. He was very polite about the whole thing and said that he is a family business and offers his coupons locally not through Unilocal

Ask for Lina! Good pedicure, had terrible manicure, front desk ladies are not warm at all. Will not go back.
Went here Tuesday evening for a pedicure with my mom and had a lovely time. I loved my pedicure so much I asked to schedule a manicure on a different day with the same person who did my pedicure. When arrived for my manicure the front desk ladies told me I couldn’t have the person I requested because she over booked herself when I know the front desk ladies did that. They told me they could give me someone else, recommended someone who was «really good» and it was the worst manicure I’ve ever had. My nails aren’t even straight. Very disappointed in service.

Came with a group of friends and had a great time. I wanted a somewhat detailed design, so my original technician moved me to a different station so the owner could do them! He was amazing. Very sweet and had great conversation. He also waxed my eyebrows, which turned out perfect. All 5 of us girls were super pleased with the place. Definitely coming back.

I went to Charlie’s during my lunch break today when I was pressed for time but ready to for my feet to look presentable in flip flops. Andy was the name of the man who took care of me. Andy was great, he paid attention to detail even though he knew I was in a time crunch but was still able to work fast. The massage portion was perfect, he used a decent amount of pressure, he was also very friendly and professional and my toes came out looking great!
I highly recommend Charlie’s for pedicures. The salon is clean and there are always plenty of staff on hand to take care of you. I was made sure I was comfortable: meaning the water temperature was right and I was offered a beverage. My whole experience today was a five out of five. I appreciated Andy working diligently because he knew I was in a time crunch and making sure the final outcome was still perfect!

I’ve been going to this salon for awhile and I thought it was good, until I noticed that I would make appts with certain people and then I get there to be passed off to someone else, yet he would do other clients. As if he would pick and choose which client he would do. Then I had a pedicure and was cut several times and management said «oh nothing I can do»…yet you’re supposedly so big on customer service. Then the tech was asked what happened and of course the story changed. I stopped going there for a few months then decided to give them a try again this weekend… again poor customer service I was never asked how my pedicure was going yet the other lady beside me was asked… I guess I’m not an important enough customer. The gel on my nails was cracked before I got half way home so I had to get them fixed. No one even tried to do a design on my nails that I wanted… I’ve had enough and my money spends just as well as the next person and everyone should be treated the same… I won’t be returning this time!

I returned and had decent service, however the lady across from me was cut during her pedicure and was bleeding. They did not seem very concerned or apologetic.

Excellent service, lovely salon, great value. I will definitely be back!

My name is Barbara Moody and I’ll like to say WOW. what a phenomenal place! I visited Charlie’s Salon for the first time on Friday, August 16^th with my daughter and my niece. I’ve been getting my nails/​pedicures done for over 15 years and after visiting a number of salons, my visit at Charlie’s totally blew me away… it is by far the BEST one ever for me. The ambience and professionalism will keep you coming back. The Salon really is an opportunity for you to relax and be treated special. I live in Fort Washington, MD and its a 40 minute drive from my home but worth every mile.

As a former nail tech, I have some pretty picky (sometimes off-​the-​chart and ridiculous) requests. I have to admit, often times I can be a difficult client. Or so I’ve been told.
I met Charlie about 5 years ago at a previous salon in the area and was immediately impressed. He’s fast, reliable, hardworking, pleasant, funny and oohhh so very talented. He stays up on all the latest trends and introduced me to things BEFORE they became mainstream. Did I mention he’s talented? From the simple to the extravagant, he does it the best! HE IS EXTREMELY PICKY and his own worst critic so you know he’s going to make sure you are fabulous when you leave him. I don’t have to say a word. I show up, sit down, and relax. (No hovering to show him what to do, fussing about how I like certain things, or trying to «communicate» what I need or want in detail). After my first meeting with him, I thought «Yay! he gets me!» And ladies we all know how difficult that can be right? hahah!
This man does it all, nails, hair, lashes, massages, makeup tattooing and even tells jokes! :-)
Charlie (and Hana) have been working so hard for so long, and are so very much loved and followed throughout the community, that it only made sense for him to open his own place.
This spa is cozy, classy and warm. Beautifully decorated and easy to locate. I’m always pleasantly surprised by the amazing things that Charlie does. Great staff and first class service all the way!
Excellent customer service, great rates, amazing talent and a great attitude goes a long way.
You won’t be disappointed.
