I came here with a personal project of mine, to look for fake lichen/​foliage, and the owner if the store was a great help, and seemed like a genuine guy. Got me a great deal on some lichen, and because I saved money, I ended up buying some more random pebbles and such !

when there and therewas a man sitting out side, smolking a cig (no problem) i ask a? and he said the owner wasnt he he just watching the store, but jhe did this with a bad attitude so i left .i went the next day walked in all i heard was YA WHAT DO YOU WANT, i ask a? he had worst attitude i would recommed this store i heard there a train store in long beach ill go there

I am so grateful to have met a wonderful person like Richard in my lifetime.
Even though he was not open January 1, 2015 he happened to be at the shop and allowed me to come in and get the. V.I.P. model train treatment.
This is a one of a kind hobby shop because of Richard who hooked me and my son up with a Thomas and friends train set.
I am a loyal customer now.
Richard is a class act who could be angry as a green river baby but he’s not he’s a military veteran and a family man who really knows how to treat customers how he stated to me, he likes to be treated as we talked for 20 minutes getting to know each other.
What a great way to start the first day of the year, thanks Richard you’re one of a kind.

I used to build plastic models as a kid; cars, planes, helicopters, and vehicles from Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica. One could find models and model supplies at most toy stores back then. Now it’s hard to find a toy store, let alone plastic models.
R Hobbies is the store you’re looking for if you’re still into models or need model supplies. He carries a pretty good selection of plastic models (including Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica!) and a lot of model train parts as well as a great selection of paints and supplies. He’ll give you advice too if you ask.
Stores like this are rare, I guess kids aren’t into the craftsmanship of building models.

You don’t find dedicated hobby shops like this anymore. Great train selection. They increase hours during the holiday season. Buy before Thanksgiving if you want something in stock. Plastic car and airplanes too, but heavily devoted to trains. Sit back, relax, and ask questions. This is what the hobby is all about.

Don’t let the size fool you. One of the best hobby shops in the area with great service. I only wished I lived closer to this shop.
