Returned from getting my watches resized and must change my rating. Not sure what’s going on here but there was a new (older) gentleman working there. He has about the same personality as a bent trash can. Service is good but friendliness has been flushed down the toilet. The younger dude from Temecula is much nicer!

Just went in the store to get a pin for my watch, normally $ 10. I’ve had it done many times there. The older gentleman, that could really use a shave, told me $ 15. I told him I’ve paid $ 10 every other time I’ve been in. He says it’s $ 15. I say sure, for both pins. He says no, $ 15 each. I walked out. Being lonely must’ve put him in a mood, no one even looking in that stores direction. Go elsewhere!

Bought a new watch band here in September. Three weeks after purchase, I noticed the band had split and would soon tear completely through. Went back to the Grossmont Center shop, asked for a replacement. The same person who sold me the band informed me that they do not carry those bands and never have. I was shocked at the blatant dishonesty. Wrote an email to the owner asking if this was really the policy. No response.

WOW! Found Time Zone through Unilocal and I am so pleased! They have been in Grossmont Center for 23 years and I can understand why! Great service and efficiency! Five batteries & two band adjustments in less than 10 minutes! You have just got a customer for life! Thank you for the great experience!

We went there to take one link from my watch and we found the ugliest costumer service !!! and he asked15 $ to take one link from my watch. Meanwhile i did it for Free at the jewelry place next to him.

I Needed to get my battery replaced in my watch and came here. Very fast service n very attentive. I will definitely be coming back.

Timeless Quality
Went to the time zone a couple of weeks ago to get a very old pocket watch fixed by Michael. I have been going there for about 10 years now but mostly for battery replacements. After looking at it, he could have said that he could get it running again. But, instead, knowing the age and sentimental value to me, he said that the best thing was not to risk working on it. Instead, since the crystal was also loose, he cleaned, reglued and reset it for $ 20. I cannot think of many businesses that would pass on an opportunity to offer to fix the watch at a significant fee. Instead, Michael was gracious and honest. Not easy to find this level of integrity these days. Thank you Michael, I will continue to come to your business in the future and share my experience with others whenever I can. Great to have this kind of quality person and business in a fine little city like La Mesa, CA.

I came in not knowing anything and Michael was able to help me find my first watch. He showed me several before I made my final decision and was amazed at how many there were to choose from! I will definitely be back to purchase more watches and if they ever need service, I will return. Excellent costumer service, very knowledgeable, very friendly. Need I say more? I think not.

Great customer service! I picked up a great watch for my father in law as a Christmas present here. They are fast, friendly, and very helpful.

I would use a negative if I could. I went in last week end to get links taken put of a watch. I told him I had a Michelle Deco Dimaond watch. I had told him my jewler had changed the battery for very inexpensive and he started to explain that my jewler might of ruined my watch. And then told me I would probably have to send to michelle and spend all this money to have it fixed and that he didn’t want to touch it in case it was ruined. I was so scared. I worried about it all week. I have several Michelle watches and have taken them to different places to have the batteries changed. Usually 30 to 40 dollars. I have many friends who have Michelle watches as well. So I let them all know about this guy and thought he was totally the guy. His name was Micheal. Seemed very knowledgeable. I took my watch in today to get the battery changed. He started to tell me that I would need to bring in some time to get it serviced He said it would run around 200.00, but no hurry. He said to change the battery on a Michelle watch it must be pressurized and mine needed to be oiled. I watched him replace the battery and do some kind of oiling and I guess he pressurized it. The total bill came to 68.75. I then asked if that was for the battery every time or for the extras. He said for just the battery every time. I had to run home and get a credit card because I didn’t have enough money on me, was on way to beach and did not excpect it to be that high. I came back and paid. I asked him If all my Michelle watches were going to cost that and he said yes. I said I was really surprised that you spend that kind of money and have to keep spending so much money to keep it up. I know when you own a expensive car the parts are more ect. But come on now 70. Verses 40. Like Judge Judy always says, ’ If it doesn’t make sense it isn’t true! ’ I went home and it was bothering me so I called Michelle, the maker of my watch. I simply asked how much to send my watch to them and have the battery changed …23.00. And asked if I had to pay 200.00 every couple years to have it serviced, he said no. You can send in to have serviced sometimes but he said it’s not required to do. I felt so taken! I called the Time Zone and told him what I found out, he said bring it back and he would refund my money. NOW THIS IS WHAT REALLY PISSED ME AND MY HUSBAND OFF. HE TOOK THE BATTERY OUT THEN DE OILED IT, REALLY, DE OILED IT… HE TOOK A LITTLE SPONGE AND TOOK BACK THE OIL HE HAD PUT IN. THEN WENT TO A MACHINE AND TOLD ME HE WAS DEPRESSURIZING MY WATCH. WHAT A BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE. YOU PEOPLE WHO LIKE HIM AND GAVE HIM HIGH SCORES JUST MUST BE GULABLE AND HAVE MONEY TO THROW AWAY! Do your research people. I would not recommend this place for anything, anyone who takes back oiling something is just RUDE!!! –5

Extremely helpful and friendly. I had a concern on a new watch and they were able to diagnose my problem and fix it very fast. Very pleasant experience, would go back 100% for any watch needs. Great local business!

Very fast and friendly! Got 3 watch batteries replaced in no more than a few minutes. Each was replaced for $ 14.75, which is a good price, though I was expecting them to be $ 10.75 based on their website (not a big deal, but I would suggest updating your website).

The service was amazing! I had 4 watches that needed maintenance and he had me in and out in about 10 minutes. Other places, it’s over an hour. The prices are great & the repair guy has a sense of humor.

Amazing service !!! We come in to do watch repair and purchase new watches. We have been purchasing watches from the owner here for years. The most friendly man we have every met. That’s why we come back. The negative reviews are not justified. If you have questions. Go see him or call him. He will be happy to help!

The service here is awesome. Michael helped us out and was super knowledgable about watches and explained everything before he did it. He changed the batteries in the watches in less then 2 minutes and we were on our way. You can’t beat the prices!

Heard about this place from a friend and this will definitely be my new go-​to place when it comes to watches. Michael was extremely helpful and service was fast and easy! Answered all of my questions and definitely knew what he was talking about. I usually don’t Unilocal a lot unless I get really good or bad experiences, and this was definitely a good one!

If you go to this store, ask for Amador. I have had some bad customer service in the past, but the quality of work and price was reasonable so I decided to give it another try. I brought my grandmothers watch in to get a new battery, to fix the band and polish the scratches. Amador was not only knowledge but supper friendly. My watch was done in a week, and Amador remembered my name and watch when I came in to pick it out. I will go back not only for the quality of work, but the service was amazing.

Highly unsatisfied doesn’t quite fit how I felt about my encounter with this business. I took a vintage Bulova watch in to be refurbished. This was my Grandmother’s and Mother’s watch and I wanted to have it refurbished to give to my daughters. I was assured that it would be beautiful, all I had to do was pay in full up front. RED FLAG! He said it would take at least thirty days. I called after almost sixty to get the status. The clerk said «I think it’s done». I went to pick it up and found that they had ruined the band when they polished the case. I refused pickup so I could speak to the owner. I had no idea what a special treat this would be. When I called the owner he said he wasn’t informed about that problem and that’s why he didn’t phone me. He then proceeded to call me a liar and tell me I just wanted something for free. I told him he just didn’t give a shit about it because he had already been paid in full. He then told me he was going to teach me a lesson in humility by ripping out all the pieces he put into my watch. I agreed as long as he put it back the way it was. He closed the conversation by saying he would throw my watch in the trash if I didn’t pick it up that day by 7 pm and then hung up on me. I contacted the police to see what recourse I could take if he destroyed my heirloom. Please don’t take and sentimental precious pieces to this business! He is worthy of nothing more than a battery change on your watch

Went in today to look for a gift for my husband. The guy greeted me, but remained seated. He answered a few of my questions and still remained seated. When I asked him about a brand of watch he suggested another store. When I asked him the brand of a particular watch in a cade he said it was a Kenneth Cole. The box next to it was a Tommy Bahama which was the same box under the watch I asked about. I asked about pocket watches and he suggested eBay. Usually watch and jewelry stores have catalogues and offer to assist in finding a watch. This guy just sat there and recommended I look elsewhere. I thanked him for his referrals and noted that his customer service sucked and that when customers come into your store it’s nice to at least stand up. He looked up from his cell phone and told me to get a life. I told him to enjoy his phone, called him D and walked out.
To which he said he would. Most of the time I walk by the store is empty, now I understand why.

TIME ZONE IS A FRAUD!
Let me preface this by saying that I own a DateJust Rolex that I purchased in 2007 and the watch is real. I purchased it from Royal Maui Jewelers in San Diego, CA and bought it brand new with all the paperwork, box, etc.
Although I absolutely love my Rolex, I am NOT a watch connoisseur by any means, don’t really know the industry or business, and feel that I may have fallen for an old con.
Recently I dropped my watch and it stopped working. I called Royal Maui Jewelers and talked to them about my problem, and they told me that it had been several years since my purchase date and my watch was well overdue for service. Apparently it should be serviced every 2 – 3 years; as I mentioned before, I am a total novice that just likes my watch and doesn’t know these things. They told me when their watchmaker would be in and I decided that I would have to wait some time before I could make it due to my work schedule.
About a week after that, I went to Grossmont Center to TIME ZONE to have a couple of batteries replaced in my wife’s watches. I noticed that they had a sign detailing the costs for various repairs of different brands, and, last on the list was Rolex at $ 550, which was the same price quoted to me by Royal Maui (apparently, this is a standard price across the board).
I began to discuss the possibility of leaving my watch with the owner of TIME ZONE in order to have it serviced there. I was told he was one of three people «certified» in San Diego to have the watch fixed and that anyplace you take it to would charge the same amount as it was set by Rolex. He went over all of the things that I would get, including:
— Completely redone exterior bezel and band to remove all scratches (would look «brand new» when returned)
— New parts on the interior that are standard with any service
— Additional parts that I needed to replace the broken ones as a result of dropping the watch
In addition, if I paid an additional fee of about $ 90 at the time, he would provide a further «cleaning» (the fee is normally about $ 200 or something).
It took about 6 weeks to get my watch back as it was supposedly sent off to Rolex to get fixed. I went in to pick it up and it was functioning properly. It didn’t look very clean but I was in a rush and figured I’d check it out later.
Today I happened to be next door to Royal Maui Jewelry and noticed that my watch was extremely dirty. It was grimy in the band and around the bezel, and I looked and saw that there were scratches everywhere, just like when I left it.
I went into Royal Maui and spoke with one of what I assume are the managers, as he was very informative and showed me several watches that were recently sent into Rolex and the difference was astonishing. They looked like they were just purchased… not well worn and used like mine! I began to think that my watch hadn’t been sent in at all!
To make a long story as short as possible: they opened up the watch and were actually able to see that no repair work had really been done. There were no new parts, no missing parts; everything was factory original. Basically, there was probably something very minor that had happened and the «watchmaker» at the below establishment was able to correct himself.
Bottom line:
— My watch was never sent into Rolex
— The parts that were supposedly «ordered to fix it directly from Rolex» through this supposed «kit of parts he had to order that cost him $ 450» was a total, bogus lie as there were no parts ever ordered at all
— He did an inferior work job; I saw through the lens dirt and grime with according to the Rolex Certified Watchmaker NO official person would ever leave there; in fact, there was a large fingerprint left on the inside of the casing.
— Nothing was taken out though and no aftermarket parts were put in, it’s still all original and intact.
My recourse here is obviously to chargeback the amount I paid to him. Royal Maui indicated that my watch was not in need of actual interior servicing and only the exterior needed to be polished, which they are doing for me at a reduced rate. I can’t say enough good things about them at Royal Maui. They really went above and beyond to help me and help take care of this situation.
Bottom line– DO NOT GO HERE! THEY ARE LIARS AND FRAUDSTERS WHO WILL CHARGE YOU FULL PRICE AND NOT WORK ON YOUR WATCH!!!
