I am a healer. The medium through which I practice is therapeutic massage. It is old-fashioned, old-school, yes, but in my hands it is a powerful gift that helps many people. One of my clients told me that I am helping people to be more comfortable in their human bodies. This may be a small thing, a drop in the bucket of what is needed in this world, but it is very important to help you feel good in your body.
In 20 years of practice and continually augmenting my education, I have developed a unique style which I call Intuitive Bodywork. Before your session, I listen to what is important to you and what you want to accomplish through bodywork. During your session, I listen to your body as I go and bring to bear my concrete and intuitive knowledge in order to facilitate your healing. Using a base form of Swedish Esalen massage, I incorporate techniques and wisdom from Asian modalities, energy work, and Reflexology. The result is a profoundly relaxing and clarifying experience.
History
Established in 2013.
Although I have been doing therapeutic massage for over 20 years, the bodywork project in its current form was just born about one year ago. I had spent a little more than 5 fulfilling years working in an administrative capacity for San Diego Hospice, continuing to do massage part-time on the weekends. When we lost San Diego Hospice, and I lost my job, I decided to return to doing therapeutic massage full time. Since then, I have moved operations to a wonderful location in La Mesa, inside the peaceful and tranquil setting of Heart and Soul Yoga and Healing Arts Center. Please visit not just for massage, but also for wonderfully healing restorative Yoga and Reiki, among other offerings at the Center.

Jeanne Marie B.
Business Owner
I have been doing professional therapeutic massage for over 20 years. In 1993, I took my initial training in the northern California town of Sebastopol. Since then, I have augmented my education by attending the Asian Bodywork Therapy program and the Holistic Health Practitioner program at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. This not only gave me a firm grounding in Asian healing arts and theory, but also in Western anatomy and physiology principles. Altogether, I put over 1000 classroom hours of high-quality education into each massage I give! I have worked in a wide range of settings, from my own living room, to clients’ lovely homes, to resort spas and luxury hotels. My favourite place to work, though, is right here in my own space, where I have created a tranquil oasis of healing for you.
