TC’S Rockets

I love this store! They have a very friendly and knowledgeable staff and a great selection of collectibles. The store hosts magic the gathering tournaments most nights of he week which is a plus if you play. Would recommend.

This is my current go-​to comic book store. Great customer service. Plenty of parking. Easy to find what I am looking for.
I have since placed a Pull List with them. It’s a service where they hold select titles for me to buy so I don’t miss any issues. Very convenient when you can’t make it on a weekly basis.
Overall a great comic store that also deals heavily in other things like Magic. Support your local comic store especially the good ones. TC Rocket’s is definitely one of the good ones. Shop here.

This place has a good vibe and a nice collection of cards and assorted geek stuff — toys/​collectibles, comics, MTG, sleeves, deck boxes, etc. I’ve only been to one event. It was well organized and about as efficient as Magic events go (at least non-​Grand Prix events). The seating is a bit tight and some of the chairs are particularly uncomfortable, but overall, I had a lot of fun and no complaints. Plus, all of the employees were extremely friendly.
They also have snacks, water, and energy drinks for sale. Just be warned you can’t bring in outside food or drink.

This is a pretty cool little comic book shop. There aren’t too many here in the San Diego area.
TC’s Rockets has a lot of the new releases and even some vintage comics along with graphic novels too. They have a decent selection of collectibles and action figures, but at a pretty hefty price in my opinion. They sell Trading Card Games such as Magic and have card tables in the store to allow customers to play their favorite TCG.
A convenient comic book shop if you live in the area and like keeping up on the latest comic book releases or competing in Trading Card Game tournaments. Collecting action figures is my hobby and what brought me from North County to this shop, but after seeing some of the prices i’d rather spend gas money to find these figures in stores at retail price.

This is definitely my favorite comic shop. The staff is great. Comics are all in excellent condition. I always get recommendations from the the staff.

The moment you walk in the door, you enter childhood all over again. They have comics, vintage toys, and a great selection of Magic cards and accessories. They have everything, but even better than that is the people here. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help. My wife and I just got into magic and they offered to help build our decks, teach, and prep us for facing other players. we are looking forward to our first tournament event.

Been coming here for a while now. They started carrying more CCGs like Pokemon, dragon ball z and yugioh. Steve the owner is always helpful. Having a pull list here for your comics is great because of the discount they offer. They also can always order anything your looking for. The game room is always filled with players and everyone that comes to play is always interested in seeing new games. I can’t recommend coming here enough. This is my top spot for comics and collectibles.

I had a really good experience with Rockets. It’s a little out of my way, so I’ve yet to play any games here, but the sales staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. I bought a really nice deck box here that purported to hold 80 double sleeved or 100 single sleeved cards. When I got home to try and fit my 100 card single sleeved deck inside of the box, it just didn’t fit. I loved the style and quality of the box, it just wasn’t going to work for me. I called up the store and spoke to the owner, Steve and he told me to come back in for a refund. When I came back in he informed me that the same company made a bigger sized deck box and he’d be willing to swap the one I purchased with the new, larger box. Steve was extremely helpful and professional in making me a happy costumer and I’ll definitely be returning. As far as the store overall, it is a super high end comic and game store. They have a very good selection of some hard to find 6 inch Black Series Star Wars and Ultimate Edition Marvel. Prices pretty close to what you’d pay for on eBay. The store is very well lit, very organized and very clean. The kind of store that I’d be happy to take my kids into. All of the staff here are super friendly and professional. Give these guys your business!

Tcs rockets is an amazing store with a very wide selection of products. The atmosphere here is very positive. I am an avid magic player and I have a lot of fun in this store. Everyone there has a great attitude. Plus the a.c. is always on, perfect for these hot days. If you like comics, star wars action figures and every other action figure there is, I highly recommend tcs rockets.

What an awesome store. Great toys, comics, and collector’s items right here in La Mesa. Finally a shop with good product, excellent customer service (very friendly too), and tables for games/​cards. It is nice to go into a comic shop and actually be greeted by employees who are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and FRIENDLY and don’t act like they are better than you. The prices are great too with good specials and bins. Thanks for opening in La Mesa Rocket’s, you have a new loyal customer.

I felt like a kid all over again as I walked through this fun shop. There are some cool toys in here! Seriously, if you wanna buy my affections, pm me and I’ll give you a list :-).
We barely scratched the surface as far as looking through the comics goes, but we’ll be back. I loved that they didn’t just have $ 1 bins, but also $.50 ones as well, very cool. My son found some cool Batman and Robin ones, including one with Alfred on the cover, gotta love that.
This store has a lot of comics for a smallish shop. The back of the store has a section with tables for card play and a fun arcade game. The first time we came, I brought my son in with his little buddy and the owner set them up with credits so they could play. Naturally, they enjoyed this immensely. I noticed there was also a bathroom for public use. Very impressive. I mean I was sitting there for a while while the boys were playing. They had some cool posters up in the store as well.
When I checked out the owner was very friendly. They currently have a Unilocal check-​in offer for 10% off any one item. A nice deal for toys. I started a customer account for my son. The owner wrote down which new issues he reads and ordered the ones he didn’t currently have on order, very cool of him. He also told me he gives a 10% discount, even nicer! I wish I had known this store was here sooner, I drive by all the time. We will be back though, now that we do know.

This place is AWESOME! So first thing or many. I might actually ramble on, however, this place is great. It’s my first option here in La Mesa and really anywhere. The staff are super friendly and actually have knowledge of their inventory and products. Unlike some other places in El Cajon, and La Mesa. Very wide and generous amount of collectibles, (toys), and Magic the Gathering. Oh!, and comic books! What they don’t have they will order. NO high pressure sales or attitude. Especially if your a noob like me. Plus they’re only, like, one block away from the trolley station, and next to a bunch of other cool places.
Very chill and relaxed atmosphere too. This place got me into and taught me how to play Star Wars miniatures, and let me practice with my minimal skill at the MTG. With skilled players of all levels and ages; this is the kind of place I have been looking for. Every time I pass by I am welcomed and find something new to read or play with. There’s a arcade machine in the back that’s free to play, and a clean restroom! Do you know how hard it is to come across a clean restroom with hot running water to wash your hands? There are tv’s that play awesome shows like Star Trek, The Flash (from the eighties), and Star Wars.
I could keep going for another two paragraphs, but I think you get the point. This is the place to be if you want to have fun with no attitude from staff or players. Great small community here and I can already see it becoming a great big community. =)

My wife and I are fairly new to mtg and for us, Rocket has been great. The inviting customer service is by far unparalleled within the county and honestly, to see a father and son work together so well gives us every reason why our dollar should be spent with Rocket.

Vintage toys galore! Finally a real store you can go to and find vintage star wars figures, G1 Transformers, GI Joe, Masters of the Universe, Mego, and tons of other cool old toys in San Diego County. The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly. They even buy old toys and comics and also trade. Go often as their inventory changes… I went back for an old toy I saw and it had been sold. For others who are not vintage toy fanatics like myself they have tons of comics from current issues to vintage graded gems, tons of collectible toys, and lots of gaming cards for sale as well as a room devoted to card play. This is a very large store with something for everyone from the $ 3 figure to the $ 3,000 comic book.

This place is awesome. I was shooting pool next store, and decided to wander in, and it was like a time machine back to my childhood. This is a great family friendly environment… From Toys to comics and much more…

Of all the comic book stores in San Diego Rockets easily has the greatest variety between toys and comics. I’ve only been in a couple times since it’s a brand new store but it’s still impressive. I watched Star Trek in there the other day and just hung out, definitely one of the most welcoming stores in San Diego.
