DJ Manny completely went above and beyond our expectations for our big day. He not only made great suggestions, he allowed us to do what we want, have our own song list on top of his, and worked with us to have some really awesome entrances for our grooms side and our amazing grand entrance. He pulled it all off flawlessly and I can’t say enough good stuff about Sound Illusions. I highly recommend using him. He will give you exactly what you want, more than what you expected, and fill in the blanks where you forget,

I’m surprised that Sound Illusions does not have more reviews than this. I would rate him as a 10+ stars if I could. Manny was such an amazing presence at our wedding that my husband and I would absolutely think of him above all other DJs for any future events we may have!
As a bride that got married during holiday season last year, I figured finding a great DJ that was available during our weekend would have been difficult to do. With Manny’s help, the DJ and emcee process was a breeze.
We first found Manny as he did another of our friends’ weddings. That night, my then fiancé and I went home with such a great impression of the DJ that we said we would absolutely LOVE to have him as our DJ when we got married. It took us two years to plan our wedding, and because of our extremely busy schedules we wanted to take our time with the planning (and finances). Meeting Manny helped so much with the flexibility of his schedule and affordable price. From the day we first met him, we were comfortable and trusted him with his expertise. We soon grew to absolutely love his personality, he is the type of person to easily move with the flow of things and always did it with a smile!
The night of our reception after the ceremony, our priest (my uncle) was unavailable to do the blessing of the food. Manny was quick to think and stepped right in to do our blessing, which left such an amazing impression on our guests and family. He easily feels the energy in the room and just goes with it, was able to get everyone’s nerves cooled off easily by having everyone do a little dance before they were seated. He was fun with his games too, allowing everyone (including our parents and grandparents) have their fun and let loose on our reception night. He also incorporated our bridal party into the games, and by the end of the night (and even months after), we got SO many compliments on our DJ and their experience.
The take away from this— do not even think twice about having Manny as your DJ/​emcee! He is absolutely one of the best investments we made for our wedding, such a delight to be around, and worth every single penny!

We found Manny through our wedding venues list of preferred venders. We got married in September at the Kona Kai Resort & Marina in Shelter Island. From the very beginning Manny was very professional, organized, confident, personable, and just overall had a great personality. Best of all he made us laugh, which is something that made him stand out among his competitors. We knew then that because of him our wedding was going to be a blast for everyone, and that it was. Manny met with us multiple times throughout our time with him which also made us more comfortable and reassured us that everything would go smoothly. He was very flexible and open to hearing our ideas although he had a ton a really great ideas and recommendations of his own which really kept the party going smoothly and kept all my guest entertained. After all he does have over 20+ years of DJing at weddings so his experience was also a big plus for us. My guest would not stop complimenting us on how much they loved the DJ. Manny made our wedding amazing in so many ways, he wasn’t just a DJ that played great music, but he did amazing job with the up lighting, and was a fantastic announcer throughout the night, even with tricky hard to pronounce names. We mostly loved how he didn’t just play great music but that he kept my guest involved by playing various interactive games; i.e. The shoe game, the kissing game, the anniversary dance, a trivial questionnaire about the bride and groom. Of course this was something we felt was important to us for all the guest to get up and dance and be involved. So if that’s the kind of DJ you are looking for Manny is the perfect fit and I would highly recommend him for not only weddings but for any other event. Oh and did I mention his prices are very reasonable!

Manny did a really great job during our reception!!! He made everything fun and memorable for everyone!!! He provided other services such as uplighting, photobooth, monogram, etc. My husband and I were very impressed with his job. He is very professional and listens to your wants and needs. He also gives feedback and suggestions. We will definitely hire him again and and recommend to others. A++++++

We found Manny through Unilocal after searching for lighting and and a DJ for our wedding in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. Manny’s prices were VERY reasonable for his uplighting and DJ/​MC services. He was very professional but also approachable and friendly. Manny set up for music in two places (cocktail and dance floor) as well as audio for speeches in a separate dining hall. On top of this, he also set up for the ceremony in yet another location and even accommodated our guitarist and singer for the ceremony. We requested Top 40 for the dancing and he threw it down! The dance floor was overflowing and he kept the parting going until the late hours of the night. He was very attentive at playing the songs we requested, which was all handled using his website prior to the wedding. If you are looking for a DJ for your wedding or event, look no further. Manny was by far our #1 vendor in both quality and price, I would not hesitate to hire him again or recommend him to anyone I know.

Manny provided DJ services for our wedding. I received many comments from our guests on how awesome our playlist was. My husband and I had selected songs from several different genres, and Manny made the music flow perfectly. Most of our guests ended up getting on the dance floor, which is exactly what we were hoping for. Manny came with an assistant which worked well so he could move about and orchestrate the events taking place. He also provided up lighting which beautifully complimented our site. We were very lucky to have found Manny. I would highly recommend him for any major event!

Manny was referred to us by a friend who’s reception was dj’ed/mc’ed by him.
After speaking with him on the phone– his funny and caring demeanor immediately put me at ease and right away I knew that I had wanted him to take care of our reception. After getting an amazing quote from Manny, we decided to book.
Manny responded quickly to all my questions/​concerns whether it was via text, phone or meeting. Due to my schedule, I was barely able to meet with him physically, but he was so accommodating when we did meet and would even accommodate me in doing phone meetings.
At the reception, he got the crowd hyped with his fun gaming ideas that allowed the guests, both young and old, to interact and play games instead of just sit at the table. He was even able to get my husband’s «old skool Vietnamese ‘O.G.s’» to get up and dance when at their usual traditional Vietnamese (Asian) weddings, they would just sit at the table and people watch.
I cannot tell you enough how much we all enjoyed Manny’s presence. He did an amazing job at the ceremony as well as the reception and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM.
EVERYONE– my family, my husband’s family AND all of our guests was impressed by Manny. YOU ABSOLUTELY CANNOT GO WRONG WITH MANNY/​SOUNDS ILLUSIONS.
But then again, it’s just my opinion.

I contacted Manny for uplighting for my wedding. I was blown away by the attentiveness and professionalism that he displayed. He’s very prompt to return phone calls and to meet with you to review items and details. This was unlike other wedding vendors who were often very slow or didn’t ever reply.
His prices were also amazing. At first I was just going to do uplighting but with his quote was able to have a personalized gobo for our wedding as well. Other companies quoted me anywhere from $ 500-​$ 1000 for the same services.
Due to his pricing I was skeptical at first but after meeting him I knew I wanted him to be the vendor that provided lighting for my wedding for that extra special touch.
I highly recommend him to any San Diego bride who wants prompt professional service in an industry that makes you anything but excited to coordinate a wedding!

Manny with Sound Illusions was so easy to work with, from beginning to end! Manny worked with myself and my (now) husband, to create the perfect playlist to get our guests on the dancefloor. The entire wedding party and all our guests were on the dancefloor the entire night. We had an absolute blast, and we can thank Sound Illusions for that! Extremely friendly, professional, timely, and organized. You can’t ask for anything more in a wedding vendor. Thank you for making our special day so memorable!

I am highly impressed with the team this company have. Manny is very friendly, accommodating and extremely likeable. He is so easy going and very flexible with schedule. Sound Illusions recently provided music at our wedding and really got the crowd going. My husband was in charge of the DJ and I did not meet the DJ who would be at our wedding and didn’t know what to expect but they were above and beyond my expectations. Where do I start with Manny? I met him and his team during a bridal bazaar and immediately knew we wanted to hire him as our DJ for our 3÷30÷13 reception. The funny thing is that one of my girlfriends was getting married at the time I met them and found out later that she had hired Manny as thie DJ. What’s more funnier is that my cousin whose wedding I was also a part of had hired Manny about 10 years ago for their reception. It goes to show not only how small the world is, but that folks who does great work are noticed and have longetivity in what they do.
Comparable to other DJ’s we’ve met, Manny by far surpasses them not only in price, but also in experience and presence. We were informed at the end of our wedding that there was never a dull moment. The different games he incorporates in the wedding, if you opt of it, are hilarious and keeps the guests entertained. With that, there’s no other need for you to look any further other than booking with Manny.
He listened to our preference; he gave ideas to our Star Wars nerdy entrance, and totally played what we wanted for each portion of the reception which was great! He played Eat It as we were about to cut the cake! hahah. Oh and he even pulled a video for us that the hubby and his groomsmen love just so they can dance and sing along to it. Can’t beat the memories you’ll be making and having with a DJ like Manny and the crew!

AWESOME!!! i booked DJ Manny for our holiday work party this year and he did not disappoint! Very professional, honest, friendly, and accommodating. And most of all very competitive pricing! He knows his stuff! He will tailor his performance and music to what you want! You can tell he wants your event to be special and exactly how you envision it to be. Everyone at the party loved him and said how much more fun he made the event. He is not over the top and annoying like some DJs. He was perfect for us! Professional, honest, caring, and knows how to rock the house! Bet and I hooked up with Manny through a mutual friend/​relative and hit it off immediately. We did the whole DJ, MC and lighting package for our wedding through him and couldn’t have been more satisfied. Any questions I had, whether through email, text or phone were immediately responded to. Manny even gave us a bunch of ideas that we could use to make the reception, that much more fun. He had all the types of music we wanted played at our wedding, including some off the wall songs that our bridal party wanted as their entrance music. Ie. 90 210 theme song, Andrew E, etc.
Hands down, the best bang for our buck wedding expense. Book him and you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing! Manny was wonderful and honestly I don’t know what we would have done without them! They really made our wedding! Very nice, helped give us ideas, helped keep us on schedule and helped keep us sane through out wedding! We have recommended Manny to 2 friends who were getting married and they LOVE him! My brother and his fiancé will be using him in October. very reasonably priced too… Hands down, wonderful!

Joey and Manny are awesome! They were both so professional, funny and willing to do anything to make our wedding day an event to remember. Manny is a lighting pro… he illuminated the ballroom perfectly. Joey had such great charisma as our MC. They were super creative and did everything from trivia & kissing games to the terrible towels to keep our wedding filled with high energy and fun. The day of the wedding, Manny said to us, ‘please let us know if there’s anything we can do for you, regardless of the contract, we are happy to help.’…that was so nice of him to say, especially because he had already gone above expectations in everything else he did leading up to the special day. My music savvy bridesmaids came running up to me during the cocktail hour saying ‘who’s the dj? I’m in love! He’s playing all my jams!’
I even couldn’t stop singing along to all the reception songs! These guys are great to work with and really care about their clients on another level. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a dj that will rock your wedding.
